Readings for November 19:

First, Deuteronomy Chapter 11 verses 1 to 17. Follow that by reading from Ezekiel Chapter 47 verse 6 to Chapter 48 verse 7. The third part is Ecclesiastes Chapter 4; and lastly James Chapter 2

Deuteronomy Chapter 11

1Therefore you shall love ForeverOne your God, and keep his instructions, and his statutes, and his ordinances, and his commandments, always.

2Know this day: for I don't speak with your children who have not known, and who have not seen the chastisement of ForeverOne your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, and his outstretched arm, 3and his signs, and his works, which he did in the midst of Egypt to Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and to all his land; 4and what he did to the army of Egypt, to their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red Sea to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how ForeverOne has destroyed them to this day; 5and what he did to you in the wilderness, until you came to this place; 6and what he did to Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben; how the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and every living thing that followed them, in the midst of all Israel: 7but your eyes have seen all the great work of ForeverOne which he did.

8Therefore you shall keep all the commandment which I command you this day, that you may be strong, and go in and possess the land, where you go over to possess it; 9and that you may prolong your days in the land, which ForeverOne swore to your fathers to give to them and to their seed, a land flowing with milk and honey.

10For the land, where you go in to possess it, isn't as the land of Egypt, that you came out from, where you sowed your seed, and watered it with your foot, as a garden of herbs; 11but the land, where you go over to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, [and] drinks water of the rain of the sky, 12a land which ForeverOne your God cares for: the eyes of ForeverOne your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year even to the end of the year.

13It shall happen, if you shall listen diligently to my commandments which I command you this day, to love ForeverOne your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul, 14that I will give the rain of your land in its season, the former rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, and your new wine, and your oil.

15I will give plants in your fields for your livestock, and you shall eat and be full.

16Take heed to yourselves, lest your heart be deceived, and you turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them; 17and the anger of ForeverOne be kindled against you, and he shut up the sky, so that there shall be no rain, and the land shall not yield its fruit; and you perish quickly from off the good land which ForeverOne gives you.

Section 2

Ezekiel 47:6-48:7

Ezekiel Chapter 47

6He said to me, Son of man, have you seen [this]? Then he brought me, and caused me to return to the bank of the river.

7Now when I had returned, behold, on the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side and on the other.

8Then he said to me, These waters issue forth toward the eastern region, and shall go down into the Arabah; and they shall go toward the sea; into the sea [shall the waters go] which were made to issue forth; and the waters shall be healed.

9It shall happen, that every living creature which swarms, in every place where the rivers come, shall live; and there shall be a very great multitude of fish; for these waters are come there, and [the waters of the sea] shall be healed, and everything shall live wherever the river comes.

10It shall happen, that fishermen shall stand by it: from En Gedi even to En Eglaim shall be a place for the spreading of nets; their fish shall be after their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceeding many.

11But the miry places of it, and its marshes, shall not be healed; they shall be given up to salt.

12By the river on its bank, on this side and on that side, shall grow every tree for food, whose leaf shall not wither, neither shall its fruit fail: it shall bring forth new fruit every month, because its waters issue out of the sanctuary; and its fruit shall be for food, and its leaf for healing.

13Thus says the Lord ForeverOne: This shall be the border, by which you shall divide the land for inheritance according to the twelve tribes of Israel: Joseph [shall have two] portions.

14You shall inherit it, one as well as another; for I swore to give it to your fathers: and this land shall fall to you for inheritance.

15This shall be the border of the land: On the north side, from the great sea, by the way of Hethlon, to the entrance of Zedad; 16Hamath, Berothah, Sibraim, which is between the border of Damascus and the border of Hamath; Hazer Hatticon, which is by the border of Hauran.

17The border from the sea, shall be Hazar Enon at the border of Damascus; and on the north northward is the border of Hamath. This is the north side.

18The east side, between Hauran and Damascus and Gilead, and the land of Israel, shall be the Jordan; from the [north] border to the east sea you shall measure. This is the east side.

19The south side southward shall be from Tamar as far as the waters of Meriboth Kadesh, to the brook [of Egypt], to the great sea. This is the south side southward.

20The west side shall be the great sea, from the [south] border as far as over against the entrance of Hamath. This is the west side.

21So you shall divide this land to you according to the tribes of Israel.

22It shall happen, that you shall divide it by lot for an inheritance to you and to the aliens who live among you, who shall father children among you; and they shall be to you as the native-born among the children of Israel; they shall have inheritance with you among the tribes of Israel.

23It shall happen, that in what tribe the stranger lives, there you shall give him his inheritance, says the Lord ForeverOne.

Ezekiel Chapter 48

1Now these are the names of the tribes: From the north end, beside the way of Hethlon to the entrance of Hamath, Hazar Enan at the border of Damascus, northward beside Hamath, (and they shall have their sides east [and] west), Dan, one [portion].

2By the border of Dan, from the east side to the west side, Asher, one [portion].

3By the border of Asher, from the east side even to the west side, Naphtali, one [portion].

4By the border of Naphtali, from the east side to the west side, Manasseh, one [portion].

5By the border of Manasseh, from the east side to the west side, Ephraim, one [portion].

6By the border of Ephraim, from the east side even to the west side, Reuben, one [portion].

7By the border of Reuben, from the east side to the west side, Judah, one [portion].

Ecclesiastes 4

Ecclesiastes Chapter 4

1Then I returned and saw all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold, the tears of those who were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.

2Therefore I praised the dead who have been long dead more than the living who are yet alive.

3Yes, better than them both is him who has not yet been, who has not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.

4Then I saw all the labor and achievement that is the envy of a man's neighbor. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.

5The fool folds his hands together and ruins himself.

6Better is a handful, with quietness, than two handfuls with labor and chasing after wind.

7Then I returned and saw vanity under the sun.

8There is one who is alone, and he has neither son nor brother. There is no end to all of his labor, neither are his eyes satisfied with wealth. "For whom then, do I labor, and deprive my soul of enjoyment?" This also is vanity. Yes, it is a miserable business.

9Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor.

10For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn't have another to lift him up.

11Again, if two lie together, then they have warmth; but how can one keep warm alone?

12If a man prevails against one who is alone, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

13Better is a poor and wise youth than an old and foolish king who doesn't know how to receive admonition any more.

14For out of prison he came forth to be king; yes, even in his kingdom he was born poor.

15I saw all the living who walk under the sun, that they were with the youth, the other, who succeeded him.

16There was no end of all the people, even of all them over whom he was - yet those who come after shall not rejoice in him. Surely this also is vanity and a chasing after wind.

James 2

James Chapter 2

1My brothers, don't hold the faith of our Lord Jesus AnointedOne of glory with partiality.

2For if a man with a gold ring, in fine clothing, comes into your synagogue, and a poor man in filthy clothing also comes in, 3and you pay special attention to the one who wears the fine clothing and say, "Sit here in a good place;" and you tell the poor man, "Stand there," or "Sit by my footstool;" 4haven't you shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?

5Listen, my dear brothers. Didn't God choose those who are poor in this world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the Kingdom which he promised to those who love him?

6But you have dishonored the poor man. Don't the rich oppress you, and personally drag you before the courts?

7Don't they blaspheme the honorable name by which you are called?

8However, if you fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself," you do well.

9But if you show partiality, you commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors.

10For whoever keeps the whole law, and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.

11For he who said, "Do not commit adultery," also said, "Do not commit murder." Now if you do not commit adultery, but do murder, you have still become a transgressor of the law.

12So speak and act as men who are to be judged by a law of freedom.

13For judgment is without mercy to him who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

14What good is it, my brothers, if a man says he has faith, but has no actions? Can faith save him?

15If a brother or sister is naked and in lack of daily food, 16and one of you tells them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled;" but didn't give them the things the body needs, what good is it?

17Even so faith, if it has no actions, is dead in itself.

18Yes, a man will say, "You have faith, and I have actions." Show me your faith without actions, and I will show you my faith by my actions.

19You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe, and shudder.

20But do you want to know, vain man, that faith apart from actions is dead?

21Wasn't Abraham our father justified by actions, in that he offered up Isaac his son on the altar?

22You see that faith worked with his actions, and by actions faith was perfected.

23So the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him as righteousness," and he was called the friend of God.

24You see then that by actions, a man is justified, and not only by faith.

25In the same way, wasn't Rahab the prostitute also justified by actions, in that she received the messengers and sent them out another way?

26For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from actions is dead.
