Deuteronomy 23:1-18

18 verses

Deuteronomy Chapter 23

1He who is wounded in the stones, or has his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the assembly of ForeverOne.

2A bastard shall not enter into the assembly of ForeverOne; even to the tenth generation shall none of his enter into the assembly of ForeverOne.

3An Ammonite or a Moabite shall not enter into the assembly of ForeverOne; even to the tenth generation shall none belonging to them enter into the assembly of ForeverOne forever: 4because they didn't meet you with bread and with water in the way, when you came here out of Egypt, and because they hired against you Balaam the son of Beor from Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse you.

5Nevertheless ForeverOne your God wouldn't listen to Balaam; but ForeverOne your God turned the curse into a blessing to you, because ForeverOne your God loved you.

6You shall not seek their peace nor their prosperity all your days forever.

7You shall not abhor an Edomite; for he is your brother: you shall not abhor an Egyptian, because you lived as a foreigner in his land.

8The children of the third generation who are born to them shall enter into the assembly of ForeverOne.

9When you go out to camp against your enemies, then you shall keep yourselves from every evil thing.

10If there is among you any man who is not clean by reason of what happens to him by night, then he shall go outside of the camp. He shall not come within the camp, 11but when evening comes, he shall bathe himself in water; and when the sun is down, he shall come within the camp.

12You shall have a place also outside of the camp, where you shall relieve yourself.

13You shall have a trowel among your weapons; and when you relieve yourself, you shall dig with it, and shall turn back and cover your excrement; 14for ForeverOne your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you, and to give up your enemies before you; therefore your camp shall be holy, that he may not see an unclean thing in you, and turn away from you.

15You shall not deliver to his master a servant who is escaped from his master to you: 16he shall dwell with you, in the midst of you, in the place which he shall choose within one of your gates, where it pleases him best: you shall not oppress him.

17There shall be no prostitute of the daughters of Israel, neither shall there be a sodomite of the sons of Israel.

18You shall not bring the hire of a prostitute, or the wages of a dog, into the house of ForeverOne your God for any vow: for even both these are an abomination to ForeverOne your God.

Jonah 3-4

Jonah Chapter 3

1The word of ForeverOne came to Jonah the second time, saying, 2"Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I give you." 3So Jonah arose, and went to Nineveh, according to the word of ForeverOne. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, three days' journey across.

4Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried out, and said, "In forty days, Nineveh will be overthrown!" 5The people of Nineveh believed God; and they proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.

6The news reached the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and took off his royal robe, covered himself with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.

7He made a proclamation and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, "Let neither man nor animal, herd nor flock, taste anything; let them not feed, nor drink water; 8but let them be covered with sackcloth, both man and animal, and let them cry mightily to God. Yes, let them turn everyone from his evil way, and from the violence that is in his hands.

9Who knows whether God will not turn and relent, and turn away from his fierce anger, so that we might not perish?" 10God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way. God relented of the disaster which he said he would do to them, and he didn't do it.

Jonah Chapter 4

1But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was angry.

2He prayed to ForeverOne, and said, "Please, ForeverOne, wasn't this what I said when I was still in my own country? Therefore I hurried to flee to Tarshish, for I knew that you are a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, and you relent of doing harm.

3Therefore now, ForeverOne, take, I beg you, my life from me; for it is better for me to die than to live." 4ForeverOne said, "Is it right for you to be angry?" 5Then Jonah went out of the city, and sat on the east side of the city, and there made himself a booth, and sat under it in the shade, until he might see what would become of the city.

6ForeverOne God prepared a vine, and made it to come up over Jonah, that it might be a shade over his head, to deliver him from his discomfort. So Jonah was exceedingly glad because of the vine.

7But God prepared a worm at dawn the next day, and it chewed on the vine, so that it withered.

8When the sun arose, God prepared a sultry east wind; and the sun beat on Jonah's head, so that he fainted, and requested for himself that he might die, and said, "It is better for me to die than to live." 9God said to Jonah, "Is it right for you to be angry about the vine?" He said, "I am right to be angry, even to death." 10ForeverOne said, "You have been concerned for the vine, for which you have not labored, neither made it grow; which came up in a night, and perished in a night.

11Shouldn't I be concerned for Nineveh, that great city, in which are more than one hundred twenty thousand persons who can't discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much livestock?"

Daniel 1:1-16

16 verses

Daniel Chapter 1

1In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to Jerusalem, and besieged it.

2LordOfMine gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God; and he carried them into the land of Shinar to the house of his god: and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god.

3The king spoke to Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring in [certain] of the children of Israel, even of the offspring royal and of the nobles; 4youths in whom was no blemish, but well-favored, and skillful in all wisdom, and endowed with knowledge, and understanding thought, and those who were able to stand in the king's palace; and that he should teach them the learning and the language of the Chaldeans.

5The king appointed for them a daily portion of the king's dainties, and of the wine which he drank, and that they should be nourished three years; that at its end they should stand before the king.

6Now among these were, of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah.

7The prince of the eunuchs gave names to them: to Daniel he gave [the name of] Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, [of] Shadrach; and to Mishael, [of] Meshach; and to Azariah, [of] Abednego.

8But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the king's dainties, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

9Now God made Daniel to find kindness and compassion in the sight of the prince of the eunuchs.

10The prince of the eunuchs said to Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who has appointed your food and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse looking than the youths who are of your own age? so would you endanger my head with the king.

11Then Daniel said to the steward whom the prince of the eunuchs had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: 12Test your servants, I beg you, ten days; and let them give us vegetables to eat, and water to drink.

13Then let our faces be looked on before you, and the face of the youths who eat of the king's dainties; and as you see, deal with your servants.

14So he listened to them in this matter, and proved them ten days.

15At the end of ten days their faces appeared fairer, and they were fatter in flesh, than all the youths who ate of the king's dainties.

16So the steward took away their dainties, and the wine that they should drink, and gave them pulse.

Revelation 1

Revelation Chapter 1

1This is the Revelation of Jesus AnointedOne, which God gave him to show to his servants the things which must happen soon, which he sent and made known by his angel to his servant, John, 2who testified to God's word and of the testimony of Jesus AnointedOne, about everything that he saw.

3Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things that are written in it, for the time is at hand.

4John, to the seven assemblies that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from God, who is and who was and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits who are before his throne; 5and from Jesus AnointedOne, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us, and washed us from our sins by his blood; 6and he made us to be a Kingdom, priests to his God and Father; to him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

7Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, including those who pierced him. All the tribes of the earth will mourn over him. Even so, Amen.

8"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says ForeverOne God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." 9I John, your brother and partner with you in oppression, Kingdom, and perseverance in the AnointedOne Jesus, was on the isle that is called Patmos because of God's Word and the testimony of Jesus AnointedOne.

10I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, like a trumpet 11saying, "What you see, write in a book and send to the seven assemblies: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and to Laodicea." 12I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. Having turned, I saw seven golden lampstands.

13And among the lampstands was one like a son of man, clothed with a robe reaching down to his feet, and with a golden sash around his chest.

14His head and his hair were white as white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire.

15His feet were like burnished brass, as if it had been refined in a furnace. His voice was like the voice of many waters.

16He had seven stars in his right hand. Out of his mouth proceeded a sharp two-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining at its brightest.

17When I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead man. He laid his right hand on me, saying, "Don't be afraid. I am the first and the last, 18and the Living one. I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. I have the keys of Death and of Hades.

19So write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will happen hereafter.

20The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden lampstands is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven assemblies. The seven lampstands are seven assemblies.
