Leviticus 27:22-34

13 verses

Leviticus Chapter 27

22"'If he dedicates to ForeverOne a field which he has bought, which is not of the field of his possession, 23then the priest shall reckon to him the worth of your valuation up to the Year of Jubilee; and he shall give your valuation on that day, as a holy thing to ForeverOne.

24In the Year of Jubilee the field shall return to him from whom it was bought, even to him to whom the possession of the land belongs.

25All your valuations shall be according to the shekel of the sanctuary: twenty gerahs to the shekel.

26"'Only the firstborn among animals, which is made a firstborn to ForeverOne, no man may dedicate it; whether an ox or sheep, it is ForeverOne's.

27If it is an unclean animal, then he shall buy it back according to your valuation, and shall add to it the fifth part of it: or if it isn't redeemed, then it shall be sold according to your valuation.

28"'Notwithstanding, no devoted thing, that a man shall devote to ForeverOne of all that he has, whether of man or animal, or of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most holy to ForeverOne.

29"'No one devoted, who shall be devoted from among men, shall be ransomed; he shall surely be put to death.

30"'All the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the trees, is ForeverOne's. It is holy to ForeverOne.

31If a man redeems anything of his tithe, he shall add a fifth part to it.

32All the tithe of the herds or the flocks, whatever passes under the rod, the tenth shall be holy to ForeverOne.

33He shall not examine whether it is good or bad. He must not exchange it. But if he does exchange it, then both it and that for which it is exchanged shall be holy. It shall not be redeemed.'" 34These are the commandments which ForeverOne commanded Moses for the children of Israel on Mount Sinai.

Jeremiah 2:9-37

Jeremiah Chapter 2

9"Therefore I will yet contend with you," says ForeverOne, "and I will contend with your children's children.

10For pass over to the islands of Kittim, and see; and send to Kedar, and consider diligently; and see if there has been such a thing.

11Has a nation changed [its] gods, which really are no gods? But my people have changed their glory for what does not profit.

12"Be astonished, you heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid. Be very desolate," says ForeverOne.

13"For my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the spring of living waters, and cut them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

14Is Israel a servant? Is he a native-born [slave]? Why has he become a prey?

15The young lions have roared at him, and yelled. They have made his land waste. His cities are burned up, without inhabitant.

16The children also of Memphis and Tahpanhes have broken the crown of your head.

17"Haven't you procured this to yourself, in that you have forsaken ForeverOne your God, when he led you on the way?

18Now what have you to do along the way to Egypt, to drink the waters of the Shihor? Or what have you to do on the way to Assyria, to drink the waters of the River?

19"Your own wickedness shall correct you, and your backsliding shall reprove you. Know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and a bitter, that you have forsaken ForeverOne your God, and that my fear is not in you," says LordOfMine, ForeverOne of Armies.

20"For of old time I have broken your yoke, and burst your bonds; and you said, 'I will not serve;' for on every high hill and under every green tree you bowed yourself, playing the prostitute.

21Yet I had planted you a noble vine, wholly a right seed. Then how have you turned to me into the degenerate branches of a foreign vine?

22For though you wash yourself with lye, and use much soap, yet your iniquity is marked before me," says LordOfMine ForeverOne.

23"How can you say, 'I am not defiled. I have not gone after the Baals'? See your way in the valley. Know what you have done. [You are] a swift dromedary traversing her ways; 24a wild donkey used to the wilderness, that snuffs up the wind in her desire. When she is in heat, who can turn her away? All those who seek her will not weary themselves. In her month, they will find her.

25"Withhold your foot from being unshod, and your throat from thirst. But you said, 'It is in vain. No, for I have loved strangers, and I will go after them.' 26As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so is the house of Israel ashamed; they, their kings, their princes, and their priests, and their prophets; 27who tell wood, 'You are my father;' and a stone, 'You have brought me out:' for they have turned their back to me, and not their face; but in the time of their trouble they will say, 'Arise, and save us.' 28"But where are your gods that you have made for yourselves? Let them arise, if they can save you in the time of your trouble: for according to the number of your cities are your gods, Judah.

29"Why will you contend with me? You all have transgressed against me," says ForeverOne.

30"I have struck your children in vain. They received no correction. Your own sword has devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.

31Generation, consider the word of ForeverOne. Have I been a wilderness to Israel? Or a land of thick darkness? Why do my people say, 'We have broken loose. We will come to you no more?' 32"Can a virgin forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? Yet my people have forgotten me for days without number.

33How well you prepare your way to seek love! Therefore you have taught even the wicked women your ways.

34Also the blood of the souls of the innocent poor is found in your skirts. You did not find them breaking in; but it is because of all these things.

35"Yet you said, 'I am innocent. Surely his anger has turned away from me.' "Behold, I will judge you, because you say, 'I have not sinned.' 36Why do you go about so much to change your way? You will be ashamed of Egypt also, as you were ashamed of Assyria.

37From there also you shall go forth, with your hands on your head; for ForeverOne has rejected those in whom you trust, and you shall not prosper with them.

Section 3

Psalm 48-49

36 verses

Psalm 48

A Song. A Psalm by the sons of Korah.

1Great is ForeverOne, and greatly to be praised, in the city of our God, in his holy mountain.

2Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, is Mount Zion, on the north sides, the city of the great King.

3God has shown himself in her citadels as a refuge.

4For, behold, the kings assembled themselves, they passed by together.

5They saw it, then they were amazed. They were dismayed. They hurried away.

6Trembling took hold of them there, pain, as of a woman in travail.

7With the east wind, you break the ships of Tarshish.

8As we have heard, so we have seen, in the city of ForeverOne of Armies, in the city of our God. God will establish it forever. Selah.

9We have thought about your loving kindness, God, in the midst of your temple.

10As is your name, God, so is your praise to the ends of the earth. Your right hand is full of righteousness.

11Let Mount Zion be glad! Let the daughters of Judah rejoice, Because of your judgments.

12Walk about Zion, and go around her. Number its towers.

13Mark well her bulwarks. Consider her palaces, that you may tell it to the next generation.

14For this God is our God forever and ever. He will be our guide even to death.

Psalm 49

For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by the sons of Korah.

1Hear this, all you peoples. Listen, all you inhabitants of the world, 2both low and high, rich and poor together.

3My mouth will speak words of wisdom. My heart shall utter understanding.

4I will incline my ear to a proverb. I will open my riddle on the harp.

5Why should I fear in the days of evil, when iniquity at my heels surrounds me?

6Those who trust in their wealth, and boast in the multitude of their riches - 7none of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give God a ransom for him.

8For the redemption of their life is costly, no payment is ever enough, 9That he should live on forever, that he should not see corruption.

10For he sees that wise men die; likewise the fool and the senseless perish, and leave their wealth to others.

11Their inward thought is that their houses will endure forever, and their dwelling places to all generations. They name their lands after themselves.

12But man, despite his riches, doesn't endure. He is like the animals that perish.

13This is the destiny of those who are foolish, and of those who approve their sayings. Selah.

14They are appointed as a flock for Sheol. Death shall be their shepherd. The upright shall have dominion over them in the morning. Their beauty shall decay in Sheol, far from their mansion.

15But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol, for he will receive me. Selah.

16Don't be afraid when a man is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased.

17For when he dies he shall carry nothing away. His glory shall not descend after him.

18Though while he lived he blessed his soul - and men praise you when you do well for yourself - 19he shall go to the generation of his fathers. They shall never see the light.

20A man who has riches without understanding, is like the animals that perish.

Section 4

Romans 1:26-2:16

23 verses

Romans Chapter 1

26For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into what is against nature.

27Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error.

28Even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, malice; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil habits, secret slanderers, 30backbiters, hateful to God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32who, knowing the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but also approve of those who practice them.

Romans Chapter 2

1So you are without excuse, O man, whoever you are who judge. For in what you judge another, you condemn yourself. For you who judge practice the same things.

2We know that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who practice such things.

3Do you think this, O man who judges those who practice such things, and do the same, that you will escape the judgment of God?

4Or do you despise the riches of his goodness, forbearance, and patience, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?

5But according to your hardness and unrepentant heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath, revelation, and of the righteous judgment of God; 6who "will pay back to everyone according to their actions:" 7to those who by perseverance in well-doing seek for glory, honor, and incorruptibility, eternal life; 8but to those who are self-seeking, and don't obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, will be wrath, indignation, 9oppression and anguish on every soul of man who does evil, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

10But glory, honor, and peace go to every man who does good, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

11For there is no partiality with God.

12For as many as have sinned without the law will also perish without the law. As many as have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.

13For it isn't the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law will be justified 14(for when Gentiles who don't have the law do by nature the things of the law, these, not having the law, are a law to themselves, 15in that they show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience testifying with them, and their thoughts among themselves accusing or else excusing them) 16in the day when God will judge the secrets of men, according to my Good News, by Jesus AnointedOne.
