Leviticus 13:55-14:9

14 verses

Leviticus Chapter 13

55Then the priest shall examine it, after the plague is washed; and behold, if the plague hasn't changed its color, and the plague hasn't spread, it is unclean; you shall burn it in the fire. It is a mildewed spot, whether the bareness is inside or outside.

56If the priest looks, and behold, the plague has faded after it is washed, then he shall tear it out of the garment, or out of the skin, or out of the warp, or out of the woof: 57and if it appears again in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in anything of skin, it is spreading. You shall burn with fire that in which the plague is.

58The garment, either the warp, or the woof, or whatever thing of skin it is, which you shall wash, if the plague has departed from them, then it shall be washed the second time, and it will be clean." 59This is the law of the plague of mildew in a garment of wool or linen, either in the warp, or the woof, or in anything of skin, to pronounce it clean, or to pronounce it unclean.

Leviticus Chapter 14

1ForeverOne spoke to Moses, saying, 2"This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing. He shall be brought to the priest, 3and the priest shall go out of the camp. The priest shall examine him, and behold, if the plague of leprosy is healed in the leper, 4then the priest shall command them to take for him who is to be cleansed two living clean birds, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop.

5The priest shall command them to kill one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water.

6As for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water.

7He shall sprinkle on him who is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird go into the open field.

8"He who is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and bathe himself in water; and he shall be clean. After that he shall enter the camp, but shall dwell outside his tent seven days.

9It shall be on the seventh day, that he shall shave all his hair off his head and his beard and his eyebrows, even all his hair he shall shave off. He shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his body in water, then he shall be clean.

Isaiah 28

29 verses

Isaiah Chapter 28

1Woe to the crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim, and to the fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fertile valley of those who are overcome with wine!

2Behold, LordOfMine has a mighty and strong one. Like a storm of hail, a destroying storm, and like a storm of mighty waters overflowing, he will throw them down to the earth with his hand.

3The crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim will be trodden under foot.

4The fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fertile valley, shall be like the first-ripe fig before the summer; which someone picks and eats as soon as he sees it.

5In that day, ForeverOne of Armies will become a crown of glory, and a diadem of beauty, to the residue of his people; 6and a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, and strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.

7They also reel with wine, and stagger with strong drink. The priest and the prophet reel with strong drink. They are swallowed up by wine. They stagger with strong drink. They err in vision. They stumble in judgment.

8For all tables are completely full of filthy vomit and filthiness.

9Whom will he teach knowledge? To whom will he explain the message? Those who are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts?

10For it is precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little.

11But he will speak to this nation with stammering lips and in another language; 12to whom he said, "This is the resting place. Give rest to weary;" and "This is the refreshing;" yet they would not hear.

13Therefore the word of ForeverOne will be to them precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little; that they may go, fall backward, be broken, be snared, and be taken.

14Therefore hear the word of ForeverOne, you scoffers, that rule this people in Jerusalem: 15"Because you have said, 'We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol are we in agreement. When the overflowing scourge passes through, it won't come to us; for we have made lies our refuge, and we have hidden ourselves under falsehood.'" 16Therefore thus says LordOfMine ForeverOne, "Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone of a sure foundation. He who believes shall not act hastily.

17I will make justice the measuring line, and righteousness the plumb line. The hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters will overflow the hiding place.

18Your covenant with death shall be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol shall not stand. When the overflowing scourge passes through, then you will be trampled down by it.

19As often as it passes through, it will seize you; for morning by morning it will pass through, by day and by night; and it will be nothing but terror to understand the message." 20For the bed is too short to stretch out on, and the blanket is too narrow to wrap oneself in.

21For ForeverOne will rise up as on Mount Perazim. He will be angry as in the valley of Gibeon; that he may do his work, his unusual work, and bring to pass his act, his extraordinary act.

22Now therefore don't be scoffers, lest your bonds be made strong; for I have heard a decree of destruction from LordOfMine, ForeverOne of Armies, on the whole earth.

23Give ear, and hear my voice! Listen, and hear my speech!

24Does he who plows to sow plow continually? Does he keep turning the soil and breaking the clods?

25When he has leveled its surface, doesn't he plant the dill, and scatter the cumin seed, and put in the wheat in rows, the barley in the appointed place, and the spelt in its place?

26For his God instructs him in right judgment, and teaches him.

27For the dill are not threshed with a sharp instrument, neither is a cart wheel turned over the cumin; but the dill is beaten out with a stick, and the cumin with a rod.

28Bread flour must be ground; so he will not always be threshing it. Although he drives the wheel of his threshing cart over it, his horses don't grind it.

29This also comes forth from ForeverOne of Armies, who is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in wisdom.

Job 41

34 verses

Job Chapter 41

1"Can you draw out Leviathan with a fishhook, or press down his tongue with a cord?

2Can you put a rope into his nose, or pierce his jaw through with a hook?

3Will he make many petitions to you, or will he speak soft words to you?

4Will he make a covenant with you, that you should take him for a servant forever?

5Will you play with him as with a bird? Or will you bind him for your girls?

6Will traders barter for him? Will they part him among the merchants?

7Can you fill his skin with barbed irons, or his head with fish spears?

8Lay your hand on him. Remember the battle, and do so no more.

9Behold, the hope of him is in vain. Won't one be thrown down even at the sight of him?

10None is so fierce that he dare stir him up. Who then is he who can stand before me?

11Who has first given to me, that I should repay him? Everything under the heavens is mine.

12"I will not keep silence concerning his limbs, nor his mighty strength, nor his goodly frame.

13Who can strip off his outer garment? Who shall come within his jaws?

14Who can open the doors of his face? Around his teeth is terror.

15Strong scales are his pride, shut up together with a close seal.

16One is so near to another, that no air can come between them.

17They are joined one to another. They stick together, so that they can't be pulled apart.

18His sneezing flashes out light. His eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.

19Out of his mouth go burning torches. Sparks of fire leap out.

20Out of his nostrils a smoke goes, as of a boiling pot over a fire of reeds.

21His breath kindles coals. A flame goes out from his mouth.

22There is strength in his neck. Terror dances before him.

23The flakes of his flesh are joined together. They are firm on him. They can't be moved.

24His heart is as firm as a stone, yes, firm as the lower millstone.

25When he raises himself up, the mighty are afraid. They retreat before his thrashing.

26If one attacks him with the sword, it can't prevail; nor the spear, the dart, nor the pointed shaft.

27He counts iron as straw; and brass as rotten wood.

28The arrow can't make him flee. Sling stones are like chaff to him.

29Clubs are counted as stubble. He laughs at the rushing of the javelin.

30His undersides are like sharp potsherds, leaving a trail in the mud like a threshing sledge.

31He makes the deep to boil like a pot. He makes the sea like a pot of ointment.

32He makes a path shine after him. One would think the deep had white hair.

33On earth there is not his equal, that is made without fear.

34He sees everything that is high. He is king over all the sons of pride."

Acts 12

Acts Chapter 12

1Now about that time, King Herod stretched out his hands to oppress some of the assembly.

2He killed James, the brother of John, with the sword.

3When he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to seize Peter also. This was during the days of unleavened bread.

4When he had arrested him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four squads of four soldiers each to guard him, intending to bring him out to the people after the Passover.

5So Peter was kept in the prison, but constant prayer was made by the assembly to God for him.

6The same night when Herod was about to bring him out, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains. Guards in front of the door kept the prison.

7And behold, an angel of ForeverOne stood by him, and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side, and woke him up, saying, "Stand up quickly!" His chains fell from his hands.

8The angel said to him, "Get dressed and put on your sandals." He did so. He said to him, "Put on your cloak and follow me." 9And he went out and followed him. He didn't know that what was being done by the angel was real, but thought he saw a vision.

10When they were past the first and the second guard, they came to the iron gate that leads into the city, which opened to them by itself. They went out, and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.

11When Peter had come to himself, he said, "Now I truly know that the Lord has sent out his angel and delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from everything the Jewish people were expecting." 12Thinking about that, he came to the house of Mary, the mother of John called Mark, where many were gathered together and were praying.

13When Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a servant girl named Rhoda came to answer.

14When she recognized Peter's voice, she didn't open the gate for joy, but ran in, and reported that Peter was standing in front of the gate.

15They said to her, "You are crazy!" But she insisted that it was so. They said, "It is his angel." 16But Peter continued knocking. When they had opened, they saw him, and were amazed.

17But he, beckoning to them with his hand to be silent, declared to them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. He said, "Tell these things to James and to the brothers." Then he departed and went to another place.

18Now as soon as it was day, there was no small stir among the soldiers about what had become of Peter.

19When Herod had sought for him, and didn't find him, he examined the guards, then commanded that they should be put to death. He went down from Judea to Caesarea, and stayed there.

20Now Herod was very angry with the people of Tyre and Sidon. They came with one accord to him, and, having made Blastus, the king's personal aide, their friend, they asked for peace, because their country depended on the king's country for food.

21On an appointed day, Herod dressed himself in royal clothing, sat on the throne, and gave a speech to them.

22The people shouted, "The voice of a god, and not of a man!" 23Immediately an angel of ForeverOne struck him, because he didn't give God the glory. Then he was eaten by worms and died.

24But the word of God grew and multiplied.

25Barnabas and Saul returned to Jerusalem when they had fulfilled their service, also taking with them John called Mark.
