Exodus Chapter 6

1ForeverOne said to Moses, "Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh, for by a strong hand he shall let them go, and by a strong hand he shall drive them out of his land." 2God spoke to Moses, and said to him, "I am ForeverOne; 3and I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty; but by my name ForeverOne I was not known to them.

4I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their travels, in which they lived as aliens.

5Moreover I have heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in slavery, and I have remembered my covenant.

6Therefore tell the children of Israel, 'I am ForeverOne, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their slavery, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm, and with great judgments: 7and I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God; and you shall know that I am ForeverOne your God, who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.

8I will bring you into the land which I swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it to you for a heritage: I am ForeverOne.'" 9Moses spoke so to the children of Israel, but they didn't listen to Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel slavery.

10ForeverOne spoke to Moses, saying, 11"Go in, speak to Pharaoh king of Egypt, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land." 12Moses spoke before ForeverOne, saying, "Behold, the children of Israel haven't listened to me; then why would Pharaoh listen to me, who am of uncircumcised lips?" 13ForeverOne spoke to Moses and to Aaron, and gave them a command to the children of Israel, and to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

15The sons of Simeon were Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanite woman; these are the families of Simeon.

16These are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations: Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari; and the years of the life of Levi were one hundred thirty-seven years.

17The sons of Gershon were Libni and Shimei, according to their families.

18The sons of Kohath were Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel; and the years of the life of Kohath were one hundred thirty-three years.

19The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their generations.

2 Samuel 15:19-16:4

23 verses

2 Samuel Chapter 15

19Then the king said to Ittai the Gittite, "Why do you also go with us? Return, and stay with the king; for you are a foreigner, and also an exile. Return to your own place.

20Whereas you came but yesterday, should I today make you go up and down with us, since I go where I may? Return, and take back your brothers. Mercy and truth be with you." 21Ittai answered the king, and said, "As ForeverOne lives, and as my lord the king lives, surely in what place my lord the king shall is, whether for death or for life, even there also will your servant be." 22David said to Ittai, "Go and pass over." Ittai the Gittite passed over, and all his men, and all the little ones who were with him.

23All the country wept with a loud voice, and all the people passed over: the king also himself passed over the brook Kidron, and all the people passed over, toward the way of the wilderness.

24Behold, Zadok also came, and all the Levites with him, bearing the ark of the covenant of God; and they set down the ark of God; and Abiathar went up, until all the people finished passing out of the city.

25The king said to Zadok, "Carry back the ark of God into the city. If I find favor in the eyes of ForeverOne, he will bring me again, and show me both it, and his habitation; 26but if he say thus, 'I have no delight in you;' behold, here am I. Let him do to me as seems good to him." 27The king said also to Zadok the priest, "Aren't you a seer? Return into the city in peace, and your two sons with you, Ahimaaz your son, and Jonathan the son of Abiathar.

28Behold, I will stay at the fords of the wilderness, until word comes from you to inform me." 29Zadok therefore and Abiathar carried the ark of God again to Jerusalem; and they stayed there.

30David went up by the ascent of the [Mount of] Olives, and wept as he went up; and he had his head covered, and went barefoot: and all the people who were with him covered every man his head, and they went up, weeping as they went up.

31Someone told David, saying, "Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom." David said, "ForeverOne, please turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness." 32When David had come to the top [of the ascent], where God was worshiped, behold, Hushai the Archite came to meet him with his coat torn, and earth on his head.

33David said to him, "If you pass on with me, then you will be a burden to me; 34but if you return to the city, and tell Absalom, 'I will be your servant, O king. As I have been your father's servant in time past, so will I now be your servant; then will you defeat for me the counsel of Ahithophel.' 35Don't you have Zadok and Abiathar the priests there with you? Therefore it shall be, that whatever thing you shall hear out of the king's house, you shall tell it to Zadok and Abiathar the priests.

36Behold, they have there with them their two sons, Ahimaaz, Zadok's son, and Jonathan, Abiathar's son; and by them you shall send to me everything that you shall hear." 37So Hushai, David's friend, came into the city; and Absalom came into Jerusalem.

2 Samuel Chapter 16

1When David was a little past the top [of the ascent], behold, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth met him, with a couple of donkeys saddled, and on them two hundred loaves of bread, and one hundred clusters of raisins, and one hundred summer fruits, and a bottle of wine.

2The king said to Ziba, What do you mean by these? Ziba said, The donkeys are for the king's household to ride on; and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that those who are faint in the wilderness may drink.

3The king said, "Where is your master's son?" Ziba said to the king, "Behold, he is staying in Jerusalem; for he said, 'Today the house of Israel will restore me the kingdom of my father.'" 4Then the king said to Ziba, "Behold, all that pertains to Mephibosheth is yours." Ziba said, "I bow down. Let me find favor in your sight, my lord, O king."

2 Chronicles 34:12-25

14 verses

2 Chronicles Chapter 34

12The men did the work faithfully: and the overseers of them were Jahath and Obadiah, the Levites, of the sons of Merari; and Zechariah and Meshullam, of the sons of the Kohathites, to set it forward; and [others of] the Levites, all who were skillful with instruments of music.

13Also they were over the bearers of burdens, and set forward all who did the work in every kind of service: and of the Levites there were scribes, and officers, and porters.

14When they brought out the money that was brought into the house of ForeverOne, Hilkiah the priest found the book of the law of ForeverOne [given] by Moses.

15Hilkiah answered Shaphan the scribe, "I have found the book of the law in the house of ForeverOne." Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan.

16Shaphan carried the book to the king, and moreover brought back word to the king, saying, "All that was committed to your servants, they are doing.

17They have emptied out the money that was found in the house of ForeverOne, and have delivered it into the hand of the overseers, and into the hand of the workmen." 18Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, "Hilkiah the priest has delivered me a book." Shaphan read from it before the king.

19When the king had heard the words of the law, he tore his clothes.

20The king commanded Hilkiah, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Abdon the son of Micah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah the king's servant, saying, 21"Go inquire of ForeverOne for me, and for those who are left in Israel and in Judah, concerning the words of the book that is found; for great is the wrath of ForeverOne that is poured out on us, because our fathers have not kept the word of ForeverOne, to do according to all that is written in this book." 22So Hilkiah, and they whom the king [had commanded], went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tokhath, the son of Hasrah, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she lived in Jerusalem in the second quarter;) and they spoke to her to that effect.

23She said to them, "Thus says ForeverOne, the God of Israel: 'Tell the man who sent you to me, 24"Thus says ForeverOne, 'Behold, I will bring evil on this place, and on its inhabitants, even all the curses that are written in the book which they have read before the king of Judah.

25Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore is my wrath poured out on this place, and it shall not be quenched.'"'

Luke 8:37-56

Luke Chapter 8

37All the people of the surrounding country of the Gadarenes asked him to depart from them, for they were very much afraid. Then he entered into the boat and returned.

38But the man from whom the demons had gone out begged him that he might go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, 39"Return to your house, and declare what great things God has done for you." He went his way, proclaiming throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.

40When Jesus returned, the multitude welcomed him, for they were all waiting for him.

41Behold, a man named Jairus came. He was a ruler of the synagogue. He fell down at Jesus' feet, and begged him to enter his house, 42for he had an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying. But as he went, the multitudes pressed against him.

43A woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her living on physicians and could not be healed by any 44came behind him, and touched the fringe of his cloak. Immediately the flow of her blood stopped.

45Jesus said, "Who touched me?" When all denied it, Peter and those with him said, "Master, the multitudes press and jostle you, and you say, 'Who touched me?'" 46But Jesus said, "Someone did touch me, for I perceived that power has gone out of me." 47When the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling, and falling down before him declared to him in the presence of all the people the reason why she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.

48He said to her, "Daughter, cheer up. Your faith has made you well. Go in peace." 49While he still spoke, one from the ruler of the synagogue's house came, saying to him, "Your daughter is dead. Don't trouble the Teacher." 50But Jesus hearing it, answered him, "Don't be afraid. Only believe, and she will be healed." 51When he came to the house, he didn't allow anyone to enter in, except Peter, John, James, the father of the child, and her mother.

52All were weeping and mourning her, but he said, "Don't weep. She isn't dead, but sleeping." 53They were ridiculing him, knowing that she was dead.

54But he put them all outside, and taking her by the hand, he called, saying, "Child, arise!" 55Her spirit returned, and she rose up immediately. He commanded that something be given to her to eat.

56Her parents were amazed, but he commanded them to tell no one what had been done.
