Genesis 25:11-28

Genesis Chapter 25

11After the death of Abraham, God blessed Isaac, his son. Isaac lived by Beer Lahai Roi.

12Now this is the history of the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, bore to Abraham.

13These are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to the order of their birth: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth, then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam, 14Mishma, Dumah, Massa, 15Hadad, Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah.

16These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their villages, and by their encampments: twelve princes, according to their nations.

17These are the years of the life of Ishmael: one hundred thirty-seven years. He breathed his last and died, and was gathered to his people.

18They lived from Havilah to Shur that is before Egypt, as you go toward Assyria. He lived opposite all his relatives.

19This is the history of the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son. Abraham became the father of Isaac.

20Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Paddan Aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian, to be his wife.

21Isaac entreated ForeverOne for his wife, because she was barren. ForeverOne was entreated by him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

22The children struggled together within her. She said, "If it is like this, why do I live?" She went to inquire of ForeverOne.

23ForeverOne said to her, "Two nations are in your womb. Two peoples will be separated from your body. The one people will be stronger than the other people. The elder will serve the younger." 24When her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.

25The first came out red all over, like a hairy garment. They named him Esau.

26After that, his brother came out, and his hand had hold on Esau's heel. He was named Jacob. Isaac was sixty years old when she bore them.

27The boys grew. Esau was a skillful hunter, a man of the field. Jacob was a quiet man, living in tents.

28Now Isaac loved Esau, because he ate his venison. Rebekah loved Jacob.

Judges 11:12-33

22 verses

Judges Chapter 11

12Jephthah sent messengers to the king of the children of Ammon, saying, "What have you to do with me, that you have come to me to fight against my land?" 13The king of the children of Ammon answered to the messengers of Jephthah, "Because Israel took away my land, when he came up out of Egypt, from the Arnon even to the Jabbok, and to the Jordan: now therefore restore those [lands] again peaceably." 14Jephthah sent messengers again to the king of the children of Ammon; 15and he said to him, "Thus says Jephthah: Israel didn't take away the land of Moab, nor the land of the children of Ammon, 16but when they came up from Egypt, and Israel went through the wilderness to the Red Sea, and came to Kadesh; 17then Israel sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, 'Please let me pass through your land;' but the king of Edom didn't listen. In the same way, he sent to the king of Moab; but he would not: and Israel stayed in Kadesh.

18Then they went through the wilderness, and went around the land of Edom, and the land of Moab, and came by the east side of the land of Moab, and they encamped on the other side of the Arnon; but they didn't come within the border of Moab, for the Arnon was the border of Moab.

19Israel sent messengers to Sihon king of the Amorites, the king of Heshbon; and Israel said to him, 'Please let us pass through your land to my place.' 20But Sihon didn't trust Israel to pass through his border; but Sihon gathered all his people together, and encamped in Jahaz, and fought against Israel.

21ForeverOne, the God of Israel, delivered Sihon and all his people into the hand of Israel, and they struck them: so Israel possessed all the land of the Amorites, the inhabitants of that country.

22They possessed all the border of the Amorites, from the Arnon even to the Jabbok, and from the wilderness even to the Jordan.

23So now ForeverOne, the God of Israel, has dispossessed the Amorites from before his people Israel, and should you possess them?

24Won't you possess what Chemosh your god gives you to possess? So whoever ForeverOne our God has dispossessed from before us, them will we possess.

25Now are you anything better than Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab? Did he ever strive against Israel, or did he ever fight against them?

26While Israel lived in Heshbon and its towns, and in Aroer and its towns, and in all the cities that are along by the side of the Arnon, three hundred years; why didn't you recover them within that time?

27I therefore have not sinned against you, but you do me wrong to war against me. ForeverOne, the Judge, be judge today between the children of Israel and the children of Ammon." 28However the king of the children of Ammon didn't listen to the words of Jephthah which he sent him.

29Then the Spirit of ForeverOne came on Jephthah, and he passed over Gilead and Manasseh, and passed over Mizpeh of Gilead, and from Mizpeh of Gilead he passed over to the children of Ammon.

30Jephthah vowed a vow to ForeverOne, and said, "If you will indeed deliver the children of Ammon into my hand, 31then it shall be, that whatever comes out from the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, it shall be ForeverOne's, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering." 32So Jephthah passed over to the children of Ammon to fight against them; and ForeverOne delivered them into his hand.

33He struck them from Aroer until you come to Minnith, even twenty cities, and to Abelcheramim, with a very great slaughter. So the children of Ammon were subdued before the children of Israel.

1 Chronicles 22:6-19

14 verses

1 Chronicles Chapter 22

6Then he called for Solomon his son, and commanded him to build a house for ForeverOne, the God of Israel.

7David said to Solomon his son, "As for me, it was in my heart to build a house to the name of ForeverOne my God.

8But the word of ForeverOne came to me, saying, 'You have shed blood abundantly, and have made great wars. You shall not build a house to my name, because you have shed much blood on the earth in my sight.

9Behold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of rest. I will give him rest from all his enemies all around; for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days.

10He shall build a house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.' 11Now, my son, may ForeverOne be with you and prosper you, and build the house of ForeverOne your God, as he has spoken concerning you.

12May ForeverOne give you discretion and understanding, and put you in charge of Israel; so that you may keep the law of ForeverOne your God.

13Then you will prosper, if you observe to do the statutes and the ordinances which ForeverOne gave Moses concerning Israel. Be strong, and courageous. Don't be afraid, neither be dismayed.

14Now, behold, in my affliction I have prepared for the house of ForeverOne one hundred thousand talents of gold, one million talents of silver, and brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance. I have also prepared timber and stone; and you may add to them.

15There are also workmen with you in abundance, cutters and workers of stone and timber, and all kinds of men who are skillful in every kind of work: 16of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise and be doing, and may ForeverOne be with you." 17David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying, 18"Isn't ForeverOne your God with you? Hasn't he given you rest on every side? For he has delivered the inhabitants of the land into my hand; and the land is subdued before ForeverOne, and before his people.

19Now set your heart and your soul to seek after ForeverOne your God. Arise therefore, and build the sanctuary of ForeverOne God, to bring the ark of the covenant of ForeverOne, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of ForeverOne."

Section 4

Matthew 24:29-51

23 verses

Matthew Chapter 24

29"But immediately after the suffering of those days, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken; 30and then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky. Then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory.

31He will send out his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.

32"Now from the fig tree learn this parable: When its branch has now become tender and produces its leaves, you know that the summer is near.

33Even so you also, when you see all these things, know that he is near, even at the doors.

34Most certainly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things are accomplished.

35Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

36"But no one knows of that day and hour, not even the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

37As the days of Noah were, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.

38For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ship, 39and they didn't know until the flood came and took them all away, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.

40Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and one will be left.

41Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and one will be left.

42So watch, for you don't know in what hour your Lord comes.

43But know this, that if the householder had known in what watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.

44Therefore also be ready, for in an hour that you don't expect, the Son of Man will come.

45"Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his master has set over his household, to give them their food in due season?

46Blessed is that servant whom his master finds doing so when he comes.

47Most certainly I tell you that he will set him over all that he has.

48But if that evil servant should say in his heart, 'My master is delaying his coming,' 49and begins to beat his fellow servants, and eat and drink with the drunkards, 50the master of that servant will come in a day when he doesn't expect it and in an hour when he doesn't know it, 51and will cut him in pieces and appoint his portion with the hypocrites. That is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.
