Exodus Chapter 37

¹Bezalel made the ark of acacia wood. Its length was two and a half cubits, and its width a cubit and a half, and a cubit and a half its height.

²He overlaid it with pure gold inside and outside, and made a molding of gold for it around it.

³He cast four rings of gold for it, in its four feet; even two rings on its one side, and two rings on its other side.

⁴He made poles of acacia wood, and overlaid them with gold.

⁵He put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark, to bear the ark.

⁶He made a mercy seat of pure gold. Its length was two and a half cubits, and a cubit and a half its width.

⁷He made two cherubim of gold. He made them of beaten work, at the two ends of the mercy seat; ⁸one cherub at the one end, and one cherub at the other end. He made the cherubim of one piece with the mercy seat at its two ends.

⁹The cherubim spread out their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings, with their faces toward one another. The faces of the cherubim were toward the mercy seat.

¹⁰He made the table of acacia wood. Its length was two cubits, and its width was a cubit, and its height was a cubit and a half.

¹¹He overlaid it with pure gold, and made a gold molding around it.

¹²He made a border of a handbreadth around it, and made a golden molding on its border around it.

¹³He cast four rings of gold for it, and put the rings in the four corners that were on its four feet.

¹⁴The rings were close by the border, the places for the poles to carry the table.

¹⁵He made the poles of acacia wood, and overlaid them with gold, to carry the table.

¹⁶He made the vessels which were on the table, its dishes, its spoons, its bowls, and its pitchers with which to pour out, of pure gold.

¹⁷He made the lampstand of pure gold. He made the lampstand of beaten work. Its base, its shaft, its cups, its buds, and its flowers were of one piece with it.

¹⁸There were six branches going out of its sides: three branches of the lampstand out of its one side, and three branches of the lampstand out of its other side: ¹⁹three cups made like almond blossoms in one branch, a bud and a flower, and three cups made like almond blossoms in the other branch, a bud and a flower: so for the six branches going out of the lampstand.

²⁰In the lampstand were four cups made like almond blossoms, its buds and its flowers; ²¹and a bud under two branches of one piece with it, and a bud under two branches of one piece with it, and a bud under two branches of one piece with it, for the six branches going out of it.

²²Their buds and their branches were of one piece with it. The whole thing was one beaten work of pure gold.

²³He made its seven lamps, and its snuffers, and its snuff dishes, of pure gold.

²⁴He made it of a talent of pure gold, with all its vessels.

2 Kings Chapter 14

²⁵He restored the border of Israel from the entrance of Hamath to the sea of the Arabah, according to the word of ForeverOne, the God of Israel, which he spoke by his servant Jonah the son of Amittai, the prophet, who was of Gath Hepher.

²⁶For ForeverOne saw the affliction of Israel, that it was very bitter; for there was none shut up nor left at large, neither was there any helper for Israel.

²⁷ForeverOne didn't say that he would blot out the name of Israel from under the sky; but he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.

²⁸Now the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, and all that he did, and his might, how he warred, and how he recovered Damascus, and Hamath, [which had belonged] to Judah, for Israel, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

²⁹Jeroboam slept with his fathers, even with the kings of Israel; and Zechariah his son reigned in his place.

2 Kings Chapter 15

¹In the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign.

²He was sixteen years old when he began to reign; and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.

³He did what was right in the eyes of ForeverOne, according to all that his father Amaziah had done.

⁴However the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burned incense in the high places.

⁵ForeverOne struck the king, so that he was a leper to the day of his death, and lived in a separate house. Jotham the king's son was over the household, judging the people of the land.

⁶Now the rest of the acts of Azariah, and all that he did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

⁷Azariah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Jotham his son reigned in his place.

⁸In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah king of Judah Zechariah the son of Jeroboam reigned over Israel in Samaria for six months.

⁹He did what was evil in the sight of ForeverOne, as his fathers had done: he didn't depart from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin.

¹⁰Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and struck him before the people, and killed him, and reigned in his place.

¹¹Now the rest of the acts of Zechariah, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

¹²This was the word of ForeverOne which he spoke to Jehu, saying, "Your sons to the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel." So it came to pass.

¹³Shallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah; and he reigned for a month in Samaria.

¹⁴Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and struck Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and killed him, and reigned in his place.

¹⁵Now the rest of the acts of Shallum, and his conspiracy which he made, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

¹⁶Then Menahem struck Tiphsah, and all who were there, and its borders, from Tirzah: because they didn't open to him, therefore he struck it; and all the women in it who were with child he ripped up.

¹⁷In the thirty-ninth year of Azariah king of Judah began Menahem the son of Gadi to reign over Israel, [and reigned] ten years in Samaria.

¹⁸He did what was evil in the sight of ForeverOne: he didn't depart all his days from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin.

¹⁹There came against the land Pul the king of Assyria; and Menahem gave Pul one thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand.

²⁰Menahem exacted the money of Israel, even of all the mighty men of wealth, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back, and didn't stay there in the land.

²¹Now the rest of the acts of Menahem, and all that he did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

²²Menahem slept with his fathers; and Pekahiah his son reigned in his place.

Job Chapter 6

⁸"Oh that I might have my request, that God would grant the thing that I long for, ⁹even that it would please God to crush me; that he would let loose his hand, and cut me off!

¹⁰Be it still my consolation, yes, let me exult in pain that doesn't spare, that I have not denied the words of the Holy One.

¹¹What is my strength, that I should wait? What is my end, that I should be patient?

¹²Is my strength the strength of stones? Or is my flesh of brass?

¹³Isn't it that I have no help in me, That wisdom is driven quite from me?

¹⁴"To him who is ready to faint, kindness should be shown from his friend; even to him who forsakes the fear of the Almighty.

¹⁵My brothers have dealt deceitfully as a brook, as the channel of brooks that pass away; ¹⁶Which are black by reason of the ice, in which the snow hides itself.

¹⁷In the dry season, they vanish. When it is hot, they are consumed out of their place.

¹⁸The caravans that travel beside them turn aside. They go up into the waste, and perish.

¹⁹The caravans of Tema looked. The groups of Sheba waited for them.

²⁰They were distressed because they were confident. They came there, and were confounded.

²¹For now you are nothing. You see a terror, and are afraid.

²²Did I say, 'Give to me?' or, 'Offer a gift for me from your substance?' ²³or, 'Deliver me from the adversary's hand?' or, 'Redeem me from the hand of the oppressors?' ²⁴"Teach me, and I will hold my peace. Cause me to understand wherein I have erred.

²⁵How forcible are words of uprightness! But your reproof, what does it reprove?

²⁶Do you intend to reprove words, since the speeches of one who is desperate are as wind?

²⁷Yes, you would even cast lots for the fatherless, and make merchandise of your friend.

²⁸Now therefore be pleased to look at me, for surely I shall not lie to your face.

²⁹Please return. Let there be no injustice. Yes, return again. My cause is righteous.

³⁰Is there injustice on my tongue? Can't my taste discern mischievous things?

Job Chapter 7

¹"Isn't a man forced to labor on earth? Aren't his days like the days of a hired hand?

²As a servant who earnestly desires the shadow, as a hireling who looks for his wages, ³so am I made to possess months of misery, wearisome nights are appointed to me.

⁴When I lie down, I say, 'When shall I arise, and the night be gone?' I toss and turn until the dawning of the day.

⁵My flesh is clothed with worms and clods of dust. My skin closes up, and breaks out afresh.

⁶My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle, and are spent without hope.

John Chapter 14

¹"Don't let your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me.

²In my Father's house are many homes. If it weren't so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you.

³If I go and prepare a place for you, I will return and will receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be there also.

⁴You know where I go, and you know the way." ⁵Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going. How can we know the way?" ⁶Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.

⁷If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on, you know him, and have seen him." ⁸Philip said to him, "Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us." ⁹Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you such a long time, and do you not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father. How do you say, 'Show us the Father?' ¹⁰Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I tell you, I speak not from myself; but the Father who lives in me does his work.

¹¹Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me; or else believe me for the very actions' sake.

¹²Most certainly I tell you, he who believes in me, the actions that I do, he will do also; and he will do greater actions than these, because I am going to my Father.

¹³Whatever you will ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

¹⁴If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it.

¹⁵If you love me, keep my commandments.

¹⁶I will pray to the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, that he may be with you forever: ¹⁷the Spirit of truth, whom the world can't receive; for it doesn't see him and doesn't know him. You know him, for he lives with you, and will be in you.

¹⁸I will not leave you orphans. I will come to you.

¹⁹Yet a little while, and the world will see me no more; but you will see me. Because I live, you will live also.

²⁰In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.

²¹One who has my commandments and keeps them, that person is one who loves me. One who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will reveal myself to him." ²²Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, "Lord, what has happened that you are about to reveal yourself to us, and not to the world?" ²³Jesus answered him, "If a man loves me, he will keep my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our home with him.

²⁴He who doesn't love me doesn't keep my words. The word which you hear isn't mine, but the Father's who sent me.

²⁵I have said these things to you while still living with you.

²⁶But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you.
