Readings for December 6:

First, Deuteronomy Chapter 21 verses 10 to 23. Follow that by reading from Amos Chapter 8 verse 4 to Chapter 9 verse 15. Follow that by reading Lamentations Chapter 3 verses 31 to 66; and lastly 2 & 3 John Chapter 1

Deuteronomy 21:10-23

Deuteronomy Chapter 21

¹⁰When you go out to battle against your enemies, and ForeverOne your God delivers them into your hands, and you carry them away captive, ¹¹and see among the captives a beautiful woman, and you have a desire to her, and would take her to you [to be his] wife; ¹²then you shall bring her home to your house; and she shall shave her head, and pare her nails; ¹³and she shall put the clothing of her captivity from off her, and shall remain in your house, and bewail her father and her mother a full month: and after that you shall go in to her, and marry her, and she shall be your wife.

¹⁴It shall be, if you have no delight in her, then you shall let her go where she will; but you shall not sell her at all for money, you shall not deal with her as a slave, because you have humbled her.

¹⁵If a man have two wives, the one beloved, and the other hated, and they have borne him children, both the beloved and the hated; and if the firstborn son be hers who was hated; ¹⁶then it shall be, in the day that he causes his sons to inherit what he has, that he may not make the son of the beloved the firstborn before the son of the hated, who is the firstborn: ¹⁷but he shall acknowledge the firstborn, the son of the hated, by giving him a double portion of all that he has; for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his.

¹⁸If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, who will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and, though they chasten him, will not listen to them; ¹⁹then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out to the elders of his city, and to the gate of his place; ²⁰and they shall tell the elders of his city, "This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard." ²¹All the men of his city shall stone him to death with stones: so you shall put away the evil from the midst of you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.

²²If a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be put to death, and you hang him on a tree; ²³his body shall not remain all night on the tree, but you shall surely bury him the same day; for he who is hanged is accursed of God; that you don't defile your land which ForeverOne your God gives you for an inheritance.

Section 2

Amos 8:4-9:15

Amos Chapter 8

⁴Hear this, you who desire to swallow up the needy, and cause the poor of the land to fail, ⁵Saying, 'When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell grain? And the Sabbath, that we may market wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel large, and dealing falsely with balances of deceit; ⁶that we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes, and sell the sweepings with the wheat?'" ⁷ForeverOne has sworn by the pride of Jacob, "Surely I will never forget any of their works.

⁸Won't the land tremble for this, and everyone mourn who dwells in it? Yes, it will rise up wholly like the River; and it will be stirred up and sink again, like the River of Egypt.

⁹In that day," says LordOfMine ForeverOne, "I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day.

¹⁰I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will make you wear sackcloth on all your bodies, and baldness on every head. I will make it like the mourning for an only son, and its end like a bitter day.

¹¹Behold, the days come," says LordOfMine ForeverOne, "that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of ForeverOne.

¹²They will wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east; they will run back and forth to seek the word of ForeverOne, and will not find it.

¹³In that day the beautiful virgins and the young men will faint for thirst.

¹⁴Those who swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, 'As your god, Dan, lives;' and, 'As the way of Beersheba lives;' they will fall, and never rise up again."

Amos Chapter 9

¹I saw LordOfMine standing beside the altar, and he said, "Strike the tops of the pillars, that the thresholds may shake; and break them in pieces on the head of all of them; and I will kill the last of them with the sword: there shall not one of them flee away, and there shall not one of them escape.

²Though they dig into Sheol, there my hand will take them; and though they climb up to heaven, there I will bring them down.

³Though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out there; and though they be hidden from my sight in the bottom of the sea, there I will command the serpent, and it will bite them.

⁴Though they go into captivity before their enemies, there I will command the sword, and it will kill them. I will set my eyes on them for evil, and not for good.

⁵For LordOfMine, ForeverOne of Armies, is he who touches the land and it melts, and all who dwell in it will mourn; and it will rise up wholly like the River, and will sink again, like the River of Egypt.

⁶It is he who builds his rooms in the heavens, and has founded his vault on the earth; he who calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out on the surface of the earth; ForeverOne is his name.

⁷Are you not like the children of the Ethiopians to me, children of Israel?" says ForeverOne. "Haven't I brought up Israel out of the land of Egypt, and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Syrians from Kir?

⁸Behold, the eyes of LordOfMine ForeverOne are on the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the surface of the earth; except that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob," says ForeverOne.

⁹"For, behold, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all the nations, as grain is sifted in a sieve, yet not the least kernel will fall on the earth.

¹⁰All the sinners of my people will die by the sword, who say, 'Evil won't overtake nor meet us.' ¹¹In that day I will raise up the fallen tent of David, and close up its breaches, and I will raise up its ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old; ¹²that they may possess the remnant of Edom, and all the nations who are called by my name," says ForeverOne who does this.

¹³"Behold, the days come," says ForeverOne, "that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the one treading grapes him who sows seed; and sweet wine will drip from the mountains, and flow from the hills.

¹⁴I will bring my people Israel back from captivity, and they will rebuild the ruined cities, and inhabit them; and they will plant vineyards, and drink wine from them. They shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

¹⁵I will plant them on their land, and they will no more be plucked up out of their land which I have given them," says ForeverOne your God.

Section 3

Lamentations 3:31-66

36 verses

Lamentations Chapter 3

³¹For LordOfMine will not reject me forever.

³²For though he cause grief, yet he will have compassion according to the multitude of his loving kindnesses.

³³For he does not afflict willingly, nor grieve the children of men.

³⁴To crush under foot all the prisoners of the earth, ³⁵To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the Most High, ³⁶To subvert a man in his cause, LordOfMine doesn't approve.

³⁷Who is he who says, and it comes to pass, when LordOfMine doesn't command it?

³⁸Doesn't evil and good come out of the mouth of the Most High?

³⁹Why does a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?

⁴⁰Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to ForeverOne.

⁴¹Let us lift up our heart with our hands to God in the heavens.

⁴²We have transgressed and have rebelled; you have not pardoned.

⁴³You have covered with anger and pursued us; you have killed, you have not pitied.

⁴⁴You have covered yourself with a cloud, so that no prayer can pass through.

⁴⁵You have made us an off-scouring and refuse in the midst of the peoples.

⁴⁶All our enemies have opened their mouth wide against us.

⁴⁷Terror and the pit have come on us, devastation and destruction.

⁴⁸My eye runs down with streams of water, for the destruction of the daughter of my people.

⁴⁹My eye pours down, and doesn't cease, without any intermission, ⁵⁰Until ForeverOne look down, and see from heaven.

⁵¹My eye affects my soul, because of all the daughters of my city.

⁵²They have chased me relentlessly like a bird, those who are my enemies without cause.

⁵³They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and have thrown stones [down] on me.

⁵⁴Waters flowed over my head; I said, I am cut off.

⁵⁵I called on your name, ForeverOne, out of the lowest dungeon.

⁵⁶You heard my voice; don't hide your ear at my breathing, at my cry.

⁵⁷You drew near in the day that I called on you; you said, Don't be afraid.

⁵⁸LordOfMine, you have pleaded the causes of my soul; you have redeemed my life.

⁵⁹ForeverOne, you have seen my wrong. Judge my cause.

⁶⁰You have seen all their vengeance and all their devices against me.

⁶¹You have heard their reproach, ForeverOne, and all their devices against me, ⁶²The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.

⁶³You see their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their song.

⁶⁴You will render to them a recompense, ForeverOne, according to the work of their hands.

⁶⁵You will give them hardness of heart, your curse to them.

⁶⁶You will pursue them in anger, and destroy them from under the heavens of ForeverOne.

Section 4

2 & 3 John 1

2 John

¹The elder, to the chosen lady and her children, whom I love in truth; and not only me, but also all those who know the truth; ²for the truth's sake, which remains in us, and it will be with us forever: ³Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus AnointedOne, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

⁴I rejoice greatly that I have found some of your children walking in truth, even as we have been commanded by the Father.

⁵Now I beg you, dear lady, not as though I wrote to you a new commandment, but what we had from the beginning, that we love one another.

⁶This is love, that we should walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment, even as you heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it.

⁷For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who don't confess that Jesus AnointedOne came in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the Antichrist.

⁸Watch yourselves, that we don't lose the things which we have accomplished, but that we receive a full reward.

⁹Whoever transgresses and doesn't remain in the teaching of the AnointedOne, doesn't have God. He who remains in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.

¹⁰If anyone comes to you, and doesn't bring this teaching, don't receive him into your house, and don't welcome him, ¹¹for he who welcomes him participates in his evil actions.

¹²Having many things to write to you, I don't want to do so with paper and ink, but I hope to come to you, and to speak face to face, that our joy may be made full.

¹³The children of your chosen sister greet you. Amen.

3 John

¹The elder, to dear Gaius whom I love in truth.

²Dear-ones, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers.

³For I rejoiced greatly when brothers came and testified about your truth, even as you walk in truth.

⁴I have no greater joy than this: to hear about my children walking in truth.

⁵Dear-ones, you do a faithful work in whatever you accomplish for those who are brothers and strangers.

⁶They have testified about your love before the assembly. You will do well to send them forward on their journey in a way worthy of God, ⁷because for the sake of the Name they went out, taking nothing from the Gentiles.

⁸So we ought to receive such as these, that we may be fellow workers for the truth.

⁹I wrote to the assembly, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first among them, doesn't accept what we say.

¹⁰So if I come, I will call attention to his actions which he does, unjustly accusing us with wicked words. Not content with this, neither does he himself receive the brothers, and those who would, he forbids and throws out of the assembly.

¹¹Dear-ones, don't imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God. He who does evil hasn't seen God.

¹²Demetrius has the testimony of all, and of the truth itself; yes, we also testify, and you know that our testimony is true.

¹³I had many things to write to you, but I am unwilling to write to you with ink and pen; ¹⁴but I hope to see you soon. Then we will speak face to face. Peace be to you. The friends greet you. Greet the friends by name.
