Leviticus 12:1-13:8

16 verses

Leviticus Chapter 12

1ForeverOne spoke to Moses, saying, 2"Speak to the children of Israel, saying, 'If a woman conceives, and bears a male child, then she shall be unclean seven days; as in the days of her monthly period she shall be unclean.

3In the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.

4She shall continue in the blood of purification thirty-three days. She shall not touch any holy thing, nor enter the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying are completed.

5But if she bears a female child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her period; and she shall continue in the blood of purification sixty-six days.

6"'When the days of her purification are completed, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring to the priest at the door of the Tent of Meeting, a year old lamb for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtledove, for a sin offering: 7and he shall offer it before ForeverOne, and make atonement for her; and she shall be cleansed from the fountain of her blood. "'This is the law for her who bears, whether a male or a female.

8If she cannot afford a lamb, then she shall take two turtledoves, or two young pigeons; the one for a burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering: and the priest shall make atonement for her, and she shall be clean.'"

Leviticus Chapter 13

1ForeverOne spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, 2"When a man shall have a rising in his body's skin, or a scab, or a bright spot, and it becomes in the skin of his body the plague of leprosy, then he shall be brought to Aaron the priest, or to one of his sons, the priests: 3and the priest shall examine the plague in the skin of the body: and if the hair in the plague has turned white, and the appearance of the plague is deeper than the body's skin, it is the plague of leprosy; and the priest shall examine him, and pronounce him unclean.

4If the bright spot is white in the skin of his body, and its appearance isn't deeper than the skin, and its hair hasn't turned white, then the priest shall isolate the infected person for seven days.

5The priest shall examine him on the seventh day, and, behold, if in his eyes the plague is arrested, and the plague hasn't spread in the skin, then the priest shall isolate him for seven more days.

6The priest shall examine him again on the seventh day; and behold, if the plague has faded, and the plague hasn't spread in the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him clean. It is a scab. He shall wash his clothes, and be clean.

7But if the scab spreads on the skin, after he has shown himself to the priest for his cleansing, he shall show himself to the priest again.

8The priest shall examine him; and behold, if the scab has spread on the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him unclean. It is leprosy.

Isaiah 22

25 verses

Isaiah Chapter 22

1The burden of the valley of vision. What troubles you now, that you have all gone up to the housetops?

2You that are full of shouting, a tumultuous city, a joyous town; your slain are not slain with the sword, neither are they dead in battle.

3All your rulers fled away together. They were bound by the archers. All who were found by you were bound together. They fled far away.

4Therefore I said, "Look away from me. I will weep bitterly. Don't labor to comfort me for the destruction of the daughter of my people.

5For it is a day of confusion, and of treading down, and of perplexity, from LordOfMine, ForeverOne of Armies, in the valley of vision; a breaking down of the walls, and a crying to the mountains." 6Elam carried his quiver, with chariots of men and horsemen; and Kir uncovered the shield.

7Your choicest valleys were full of chariots, and the horsemen set themselves in array at the gate.

8He took away the covering of Judah; and you looked in that day to the armor in the house of the forest.

9You saw the breaches of the city of David, that they were many; and you gathered together the waters of the lower pool.

10You counted the houses of Jerusalem, and you broke down the houses to fortify the wall.

11You also made a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool. But you didn't look to him who had done this, nor did you have respect for the one who purposed it long ago.

12In that day, LordOfMine, ForeverOne of Armies, called to weeping, and to mourning, and to baldness, and to dressing in sackcloth: 13and behold, joy and gladness, killing cattle and killing sheep, eating flesh and drinking wine: "Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we will die." 14ForeverOne of Armies revealed himself in my ears, "Surely this iniquity will not be forgiven you until you die," says LordOfMine, ForeverOne of Armies.

15Thus says LordOfMine, ForeverOne of Armies, "Go, get yourself to this treasurer, even to Shebna, who is over the house, and say, 16'What are you doing here? Who has you here, that you have dug out a tomb here?' Cutting himself out a tomb on high, chiseling a habitation for himself in the rock!" 17Behold, ForeverOne will overcome you and hurl you away violently. Yes, he will grasp you firmly.

18He will surely wind you around and around, and throw you like a ball into a large country. There you will die, and there the chariots of your glory will be, you shame of your lord's house.

19I will thrust you from your office. You will be pulled down from your station.

20In the day that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, 21and I will clothe him with your robe, and strengthen him with your belt. I will commit your government into his hand; and he will be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.

22I will lay the key of the house of David on his shoulder. He will open, and no one will shut. He will shut, and no one will open.

23I will fasten him like a nail in a sure place. He will be for a throne of glory to his father's house.

24They will hang on him all the glory of his father's house, the offspring and the issue, every small vessel, from the cups even to all the pitchers.

25"In that day," says ForeverOne of Armies, "the nail that was fastened in a sure place will give way. It will be cut down, and fall. The burden that was on it will be cut off, for ForeverOne has spoken it."

Job 37:14-38:15

26 verses

Job Chapter 37

14"Listen to this, Job. Stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

15Do you know how God controls them, and causes the lightning of his cloud to shine?

16Do you know the workings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge?

17You whose clothing is warm, when the earth is still by reason of the south wind?

18Can you, with him, spread out the sky, which is strong as a cast metal mirror?

19Teach us what we shall tell him, for we can't make our case by reason of darkness.

20Shall it be told him that I would speak? Or should a man wish that he were swallowed up?

21Now men don't see the light which is bright in the skies, but the wind passes, and clears them.

22Out of the north comes golden splendor. With God is awesome majesty.

23We can't reach the Almighty. He is exalted in power. In justice and great righteousness, he will not oppress.

24Therefore men revere him. He doesn't regard any who are wise of heart."

Job Chapter 38

1Then ForeverOne answered Job out of the whirlwind, 2"Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge?

3Brace yourself like a man, for I will question you, then you answer me!

4"Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if you have understanding.

5Who determined its measures, if you know? Or who stretched the line on it?

6Whereupon were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone, 7when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

8"Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it broke out from the womb, 9when I made clouds its garment, and wrapped it in thick darkness, 10marked out for it my bound, set bars and doors, 11and said, 'Here you may come, but no further. Here your proud waves shall be stayed?' 12"Have you commanded the morning in your days, and caused the dawn to know its place; 13that it might take hold of the ends of the earth, and shake the wicked out of it?

14It is changed as clay under the seal, and stands out like a garment.

15From the wicked, their light is withheld. The high arm is broken.

Acts 10:1-20

20 verses

Acts Chapter 10

1Now there was a certain man in Caesarea, Cornelius by name, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment, 2a devout man, and one who feared God with all his house, who gave gifts for the needy generously to the people, and always prayed to God.

3At about the ninth hour of the day, he clearly saw in a vision an angel of God coming to him, and saying to him, "Cornelius!" 4He, fastening his eyes on him, and being frightened, said, "What is it, Lord?" He said to him, "Your prayers and your gifts to the needy have gone up for a memorial before God.

5Now send men to Joppa, and get Simon called Peter.

6He is staying with a tanner named Simon, whose house is by the sea. [TR adds "This one will tell you what it is necessary for you to do."] 7When the angel who spoke to him had departed, Cornelius called two of his household servants and a devout soldier of those who waited on him continually.

8Having explained everything to them, he sent them to Joppa.

9Now on the next day as they were on their journey, and got close to the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray at about noon.

10He became hungry and desired to eat, but while they were preparing, he fell into a trance.

11He saw heaven opened and a certain container descending to him, like a great sheet let down by four corners on the earth, 12in which were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild animals, reptiles, and birds of the sky.

13A voice came to him, "Rise, Peter, kill and eat!" 14But Peter said, "Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean." 15A voice came to him again the second time, "What God has cleansed, you must not call unclean." 16This was done three times, and immediately the vessel was received up into heaven.

17Now while Peter was very perplexed in himself what the vision which he had seen might mean, behold, the men who were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon's house, stood before the gate, 18and called and asked whether Simon called Peter was lodging there.

19While Peter was pondering the vision, the Spirit said to him, "Behold, three men seek you.

20But arise, get down, and go with them, doubting nothing; for I have sent them."
