Exodus 4:10-23

Exodus Chapter 4

10Moses said to ForeverOne, "Oh LordOfMine, I am not eloquent, neither before now, nor since you have spoken to your servant; for I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue." 11ForeverOne said to him, "Who made man's mouth? Or who makes one mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Isn't it I, ForeverOne?

12Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth, and teach you what you shall speak." 13He said, "Oh, LordOfMine, please send someone else." 14The anger of ForeverOne was kindled against Moses, and he said, "What about Aaron, your brother, the Levite? I know that he can speak well. Also, behold, he comes out to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.

15You shall speak to him, and put the words in his mouth. I will be with your mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what you shall do.

16He will be your spokesman to the people; and it will happen, that he will be to you a mouth, and you will be to him as God.

17You shall take this rod in your hand, with which you shall do the signs." 18Moses went and returned to Jethro his father-in-law, and said to him, "Please let me go and return to my brothers who are in Egypt, and see whether they are still alive." Jethro said to Moses, "Go in peace." 19ForeverOne said to Moses in Midian, "Go, return into Egypt; for all the men who sought your life are dead." 20Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them on a donkey, and he returned to the land of Egypt. Moses took God's rod in his hand.

21ForeverOne said to Moses, "When you go back into Egypt, see that you do before Pharaoh all the wonders which I have put in your hand, but I will harden his heart and he will not let the people go.

22You shall tell Pharaoh, 'Thus says ForeverOne, Israel is my son, my firstborn, 23and I have said to you, "Let my son go, that he may serve me;" and you have refused to let him go. Behold, I will kill your son, your firstborn.'"

2 Samuel 13:15-14:3

2 Samuel Chapter 13

15Then Amnon hated her with exceeding great hatred; for the hatred with which he hated her was greater than the love with which he had loved her. Amnon said to her, "Arise, be gone!" 16She said to him, "Not so, because this great wrong in sending me away is worse than the other that you did to me!" But he would not listen to her.

17Then he called his servant who ministered to him, and said, "Put now this woman out from me, and bolt the door after her." 18She had a garment of various colors on her; for with such robes were the king's daughters who were virgins dressed. Then his servant brought her out, and bolted the door after her.

19Tamar put ashes on her head, and tore her garment of various colors that was on her; and she laid her hand on her head, and went her way, crying aloud as she went.

20Absalom her brother said to her, "Has Amnon your brother been with you? But now hold your peace, my sister. He is your brother. Don't take this thing to heart." So Tamar remained desolate in her brother Absalom's house.

21But when king David heard of all these things, he was very angry.

22Absalom spoke to Amnon neither good nor bad; for Absalom hated Amnon, because he had forced his sister Tamar.

23After two full years, Absalom had sheepshearers in Baal Hazor, which is beside Ephraim: and Absalom invited all the king's sons.

24Absalom came to the king, and said, "See now, your servant has sheepshearers. Please let the king and his servants go with your servant." 25The king said to Absalom, "No, my son, let us not all go, lest we be burdensome to you." He pressed him; however he would not go, but blessed him.

26Then Absalom said, "If not, please let my brother Amnon go with us." The king said to him, "Why should he go with you?" 27But Absalom pressed him, and he let Amnon and all the king's sons go with him.

28Absalom commanded his servants, saying, "Mark now, when Amnon's heart is merry with wine; and when I tell you, 'Strike Amnon,' then kill him. Don't be afraid. Haven't I commanded you? Be courageous, and be valiant!" 29The servants of Absalom did to Amnon as Absalom had commanded. Then all the king's sons arose, and every man got up on his mule, and fled.

30While they were on the way, the news came to David, saying, "Absalom has slain all the king's sons, and there is not one of them left!" 31Then the king arose, and tore his garments, and lay on the earth; and all his servants stood by with their clothes torn.

32Jonadab, the son of Shimeah, David's brother, answered, "Don't let my lord suppose that they have killed all the young men the king's sons; for Amnon only is dead; for by the appointment of Absalom this has been determined from the day that he forced his sister Tamar.

33Now therefore don't let my lord the king take the thing to his heart, to think that all the king's sons are dead; for Amnon only is dead." 34But Absalom fled. The young man who kept the watch lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold, many people were coming by way of the hillside behind him.

35Jonadab said to the king, "Behold, the king's sons are coming! It is as your servant said." 36As soon as he had finished speaking, behold, the king's sons came, and lifted up their voice, and wept. The king also and all his servants wept bitterly.

37But Absalom fled, and went to Talmai the son of Ammihur, king of Geshur. David mourned for his son every day.

38So Absalom fled, and went to Geshur, and was there three years.

39[the soul of] king David longed to go out to Absalom: for he was comforted concerning Amnon, since he was dead.

2 Samuel Chapter 14

1Now Joab the son of Zeruiah perceived that the king's heart was toward Absalom.

2Joab sent to Tekoa, and fetched there a wise woman, and said to her, "Please act like a mourner, and put on mourning clothing, please, and don't anoint yourself with oil, but be as a woman who has mourned a long time for the dead.

3Go in to the king, and speak like this to him." So Joab put the words in her mouth.

2 Chronicles 32:22-33:3

15 verses

2 Chronicles Chapter 32

22Thus ForeverOne saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib the king of Assyria, and from the hand of all [others], and guided them on every side.

23Many brought gifts to ForeverOne to Jerusalem, and precious things to Hezekiah king of Judah; so that he was exalted in the sight of all nations from then onwards.

24In those days Hezekiah was sick even to death: and he prayed to ForeverOne; and he spoke to him, and gave him a sign.

25But Hezekiah didn't render again according to the benefit done to him; for his heart was lifted up: therefore there was wrath on him, and on Judah and Jerusalem.

26Notwithstanding Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of ForeverOne didn't come on them in the days of Hezekiah.

27Hezekiah had exceeding much riches and honor: and he provided him treasuries for silver, and for gold, and for precious stones, and for spices, and for shields, and for all kinds of goodly vessels; 28storehouses also for the increase of grain and new wine and oil; and stalls for all kinds of animals, and flocks in folds.

29Moreover he provided him cities, and possessions of flocks and herds in abundance; for God had given him very much substance.

30This same Hezekiah also stopped the upper spring of the waters of Gihon, and brought them straight down on the west side of the city of David. Hezekiah prospered in all his works.

31However in [the business of] the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent to him to inquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart.

32Now the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and his good deeds, behold, they are written in the vision of Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz, in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.

33Hezekiah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the ascent of the tombs of the sons of David: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem honored him at his death. Manasseh his son reigned in his place.

2 Chronicles Chapter 33

1Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign; and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem.

2He did what was evil in the sight of ForeverOne, after the abominations of the nations whom ForeverOne threw out before the children of Israel.

3For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down; and he reared up altars for the Baals, and made Asheroth, and worshiped all the army of the sky, and served them.

Luke 7:24-43

Luke Chapter 7

24When John's messengers had departed, he began to tell the multitudes about John, "What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?

25But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft clothing? Behold, those who are gorgeously dressed, and live delicately, are in kings' courts.

26But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet.

27This is he of whom it is written, 'Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.' 28"For I tell you, among those who are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptizer, yet he who is least in God's Kingdom is greater than he." 29When all the people and the tax collectors heard this, they declared God to be just, having been baptized with John's baptism.

30But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the counsel of God, not being baptized by him themselves.

31"To what then should I compare the people of this generation? What are they like?

32They are like children who sit in the marketplace, and call to one another, saying, 'We piped to you, and you didn't dance. We mourned, and you didn't weep.' 33For John the Baptizer came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, 'He has a demon.' 34The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, 'Behold, a gluttonous man, and a drunkard; a friend of tax collectors and sinners!' 35Wisdom is justified by all her children." 36One of the Pharisees invited him to eat with him. He entered into the Pharisee's house, and sat at the table.

37Behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that he was reclining in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster jar of ointment.

38Standing behind at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears, and she wiped them with the hair of her head, kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

39Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw it, he said to himself, "This man, if he were a prophet, would have perceived who and what kind of woman this is who touches him, that she is a sinner." 40Jesus answered him, "Simon, I have something to tell you." He said, "Teacher, say on." 41"A certain lender had two debtors. The one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.

42When they couldn't pay, he forgave them both. So which of them will love him most?" 43Simon answered, "He, I suppose, to whom he forgave the most." He said to him, "You have judged correctly."
