Exodus Chapter 17

8Then Amalek came and fought with Israel in Rephidim.

9Moses said to Joshua, "Choose men for us, and go out, fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with God's rod in my hand." 10So Joshua did as Moses had told him, and fought with Amalek; and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.

11When Moses held up his hand Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.

12But Moses' hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side. His hands were steady until sunset.

13Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.

14ForeverOne said to Moses, "Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: that I will utterly blot out the memory of Amalek from under the sky." 15Moses built an altar, and called its name ForeverOne our Banner.

16He said, "EverOne has sworn: 'ForeverOne will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.'"

Exodus Chapter 18

1Now Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses' father-in-law, heard of all that God had done for Moses, and for Israel his people, how ForeverOne had brought Israel out of Egypt.

2Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, received Zipporah, Moses' wife, after he had sent her away, 3and her two sons. The name of one son was Gershom, for Moses said, "I have lived as a foreigner in a foreign land".

4The name of the other was Eliezer, for he said, "My father's God was my help and delivered me from Pharaoh's sword." 5Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, came with his sons and his wife to Moses into the wilderness where he was encamped, at the Mountain of God.

6He said to Moses, "I, your father-in-law Jethro, have come to you with your wife, and her two sons with her."

1 Kings 8:1-26

1 Kings Chapter 8

1Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers' [houses] of the children of Israel, to king Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of ForeverOne out of the city of David, which is Zion.

2All the men of Israel assembled themselves to king Solomon at the feast, in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.

3All the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.

4They brought up the ark of ForeverOne, and the Tent of Meeting, and all the holy vessels that were in the Tent; even these the priests and the Levites brought up.

5King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel, who were assembled to him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and cattle, that could not be counted nor numbered for multitude.

6The priests brought in the ark of the covenant of ForeverOne to its place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubim.

7For the cherubim spread out their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and its poles above.

8The poles were so long that the ends of the poles were seen from the holy place before the oracle; but they were not seen outside: and there they are to this day.

9There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets of stone which Moses put there at Horeb, when ForeverOne made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

10It came to pass, when the priests had come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of ForeverOne, 11so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud; for the glory of ForeverOne filled the house of ForeverOne.

12Then Solomon said, "ForeverOne has said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

13I have surely built you a house of habitation, a place for you to dwell in forever." 14The king turned his face about, and blessed all the assembly of Israel: and all the assembly of Israel stood.

15He said, "Blessed is ForeverOne, the God of Israel, who spoke with his mouth to David your father, and has with his hand fulfilled it, saying, 16'Since the day that I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house, that my name might be there; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.' 17"Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of ForeverOne, the God of Israel.

18But ForeverOne said to David my father, 'Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well that it was in your heart.

19Nevertheless, you shall not build the house; but your son who shall come out of your body, he shall build the house for my name.' 20ForeverOne has established his word that he spoke; for I have risen up in the place of David my father, and I sit on the throne of Israel, as ForeverOne promised, and have built the house for the name of ForeverOne, the God of Israel.

21There I have set a place for the ark, in which is the covenant of ForeverOne, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt." 22Solomon stood before the altar of ForeverOne in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands toward heaven; 23and he said, "ForeverOne, the God of Israel, there is no God like you, in heaven above, or on earth beneath; who keep covenant and loving kindness with your servants, who walk before you with all their heart; 24who have kept with your servant David my father what you promised him. Yes, you spoke with your mouth, and have fulfilled it with your hand, as it is today.

25Now therefore, may ForeverOne, the God of Israel, keep with your servant David my father what you have promised him, saying, 'There shall not fail you a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only your children take heed to their way, to walk before me as you have walked before me.' 26"Now therefore, God of Israel, please let your word be verified, which you spoke to your servant David my father.

Nehemiah 2:7-20

Nehemiah Chapter 2

7Moreover I said to the king, "If it pleases the king, let letters be given me to the governors beyond the River, that they may let me pass through until I come to Judah; 8and a letter to Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the citadel by the temple, for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into." The king granted my requests, because of the good hand of my God on me.

9Then I came to the governors beyond the River, and gave them the king's letters. Now the king had sent with me captains of the army and horsemen.

10When Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, heard of it, it grieved them exceedingly, because a man had come to seek the welfare of the children of Israel.

11So I came to Jerusalem, and was there three days.

12I arose in the night, I and some few men with me; neither told I any man what my God put into my heart to do for Jerusalem; neither was there any animal with me, except the animal that I rode on.

13I went out by night by the valley gate, even toward the jackal's well, and to the dung gate, and viewed the walls of Jerusalem, which were broken down, and its gates were consumed with fire.

14Then I went on to the spring gate and to the king's pool: but there was no place for the animal that was under me to pass.

15Then went I up in the night by the brook, and viewed the wall; and I turned back, and entered by the valley gate, and so returned.

16The rulers didn't know where I went, or what I did; neither had I as yet told it to the Jews, nor to the priests, nor to the nobles, nor to the rulers, nor to the rest who did the work.

17Then I said to them, "You see the evil case that we are in, how Jerusalem lies waste, and its gates are burned with fire. Come, let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we won't be disgraced." 18I told them of the hand of my God which was good on me, as also of the king's words that he had spoken to me. They said, "Let's rise up and build." So they strengthened their hands for the good work.

19But when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it, they ridiculed us, and despised us, and said, "What is this thing that you are doing? Will you rebel against the king?" 20Then answered I them, and said to them, "The God of heaven will prosper us. Therefore we, his servants, will arise and build; but you have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem."

Luke 19:28-48

Luke Chapter 19

28Having said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.

29When he came near to Bethsphage and Bethany, at the mountain that is called Olivet, he sent two of his disciples, 30saying, "Go your way into the village on the other side, in which, as you enter, you will find a colt tied, which no one had ever sat upon. Untie it and bring it.

31If anyone asks you, 'Why are you untying it?' say to him: 'ForeverOne needs it.'" 32Those who were sent went away, and found things just as he had told them.

33As they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, "Why are you untying the colt?" 34They said, "ForeverOne needs it." 35Then they brought it to Jesus. They threw their cloaks on the colt, and sat Jesus on them.

36As he went, they spread their cloaks on the road.

37As he was now getting near, at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty acts which they had seen, 38saying, "Blessed is the King who comes in the name of ForeverOne! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest!" 39Some of the Pharisees from the multitude said to him, "Teacher, rebuke your disciples!" 40He answered them, "I tell you that if these were silent, the stones would cry out." 41When he came near, he saw the city and wept over it, 42saying, "If you, even you, had known today the things which belong to your peace! But now, they are hidden from your eyes.

43For the days will come on you, when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, surround you, hem you in on every side, 44and will dash you and your children within you to the ground. They will not leave in you one stone on another, because you didn't know the time of your visitation." 45He entered into the temple, and began to drive out those who bought and sold in it, 46saying to them, "It is written, 'My house is a house of prayer,' but you have made it a 'den of robbers'!" 47He was teaching daily in the temple, but the chief priests, the scribes and the leading men among the people sought to destroy him.

48They couldn't find what they might do, for all the people hung on to every word that he said.
