Genesis 50:12-26

Genesis Chapter 50

12His sons did to him just as he commanded them, 13for his sons carried him into the land of Canaan, and buried him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, which Abraham bought with the field, for a possession of a burial site, from Ephron the Hittite, before Mamre.

14Joseph returned into Egypt - he, and his brothers, and all that went up with him to bury his father, after he had buried his father.

15When Joseph's brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, "It may be that Joseph will hate us, and will fully pay us back for all of the evil which we did to him." 16They sent a message to Joseph, saying, "Your father commanded before he died, saying, 17'You shall tell Joseph, "Now please forgive the disobedience of your brothers, and their sin, because they did evil to you."' Now, please forgive the disobedience of the servants of the God of your father." Joseph wept when they spoke to him.

18His brothers also went and fell down before his face; and they said, "Behold, we are your servants." 19Joseph said to them, "Don't be afraid, for am I in the place of God?

20As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring to pass, as it is today, to save many people alive.

21Now therefore don't be afraid. I will nourish you and your little ones." He comforted them, and spoke kindly to them.

22Joseph lived in Egypt, he, and his father's house. Joseph lived one hundred ten years.

23Joseph saw Ephraim's children to the third generation. The children also of Machir, the son of Manasseh, were born on Joseph's knees.

24Joseph said to his brothers, "I am dying, but God will surely visit you, and bring you up out of this land to the land which he swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob." 25Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, "God will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones from here." 26So Joseph died, being one hundred ten years old, and they embalmed him, and he was put in a coffin in Egypt.

2 Samuel 7:1-24

2 Samuel Chapter 7

1When the king lived in his house, and ForeverOne had given him rest from all his enemies all around, 2that the king said to Nathan the prophet, "See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of God dwells within curtains." 3Nathan said to the king, "Go, do all that is in your heart; for ForeverOne is with you." 4That same night the word of ForeverOne came to Nathan, saying, 5"Go and tell my servant David, 'Thus says ForeverOne, "Shall you build me a house for me to dwell in?

6For I have not lived in a house since the day that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have moved around in a tent and in a tabernacle.

7In all places in which I have walked with all the children of Israel, did I say a word to any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to be shepherd of my people Israel, saying, 'Why have you not built me a house of cedar?'"' 8Now therefore you shall tell my servant David this, 'Thus says ForeverOne of Armies, "I took you from the sheep pen, from following the sheep, that you should be prince over my people, over Israel.

9I have been with you wherever you went, and have cut off all your enemies from before you. I will make you a great name, like the name of the great ones who are in the earth.

10I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in their own place, and be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as at the first, 11and as from the day that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. I will cause you to rest from all your enemies. Moreover ForeverOne tells you that ForeverOne will make you a house.

12When your days are fulfilled, and you shall sleep with your fathers, I will set up your offspring after you, who shall proceed out of your body, and I will establish his kingdom.

13He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.

14I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men; 15but my loving kindness shall not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before you.

16Your house and your kingdom shall be made sure forever before you. Your throne shall be established forever."'" 17According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so Nathan spoke to David.

18Then David the king went in, and sat before ForeverOne; and he said, "Who am I, LordOfMine ForeverOne, and what is my house, that you have brought me thus far?

19This was yet a small thing in your eyes, LordOfMine ForeverOne; but you have spoken also of your servant's house for a great while to come; and this after the way of men, LordOfMine ForeverOne!

20What more can David say to you? For you know your servant, LordOfMine ForeverOne.

21For your word's sake, and according to your own heart, you have worked all this greatness, to make your servant know it.

22Therefore you are great, ForeverOne God. For there is none like you, neither is there any God besides you, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

23What one nation in the earth is like your people, even like Israel, whom God went to redeem to himself for a people, and to make him a name, and to do great things for you, and awesome things for your land, before your people, whom you redeem to you out of Egypt, [from] the nations and their gods?

24You established for yourself your people Israel to be a people to you forever; and you, ForeverOne, became their God.

2 Chronicles 29:18-30

13 verses

2 Chronicles Chapter 29

18Then they went in to Hezekiah the king within [the palace], and said, "We have cleansed all the house of ForeverOne, and the altar of burnt offering, with all its vessels, and the table of show bread, with all its vessels.

19Moreover, we have prepared and sanctified all the vessels which king Ahaz threw away in his reign when he was unfaithful. Behold, they are before the altar of ForeverOne." 20Then Hezekiah the king arose early, and gathered the princes of the city, and went up to the house of ForeverOne.

21They brought seven bulls, and seven rams, and seven lambs, and seven male goats, for a sin offering for the kingdom and for the sanctuary and for Judah. He commanded the priests the sons of Aaron to offer them on the altar of ForeverOne.

22So they killed the bulls, and the priests received the blood, and sprinkled it on the altar: and they killed the rams, and sprinkled the blood on the altar: they killed also the lambs, and sprinkled the blood on the altar.

23They brought near the male goats for the sin offering before the king and the assembly; and they laid their hands on them: 24and the priests killed them, and they made a sin offering with their blood on the altar, to make atonement for all Israel; for the king commanded [that] the burnt offering and the sin offering [should be made] for all Israel.

25He set the Levites in the house of ForeverOne with cymbals, with stringed instruments, and with harps, according to the commandment of David, and of Gad the king's seer, and Nathan the prophet; for the commandment was of ForeverOne by his prophets.

26The Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets.

27Hezekiah commanded to offer the burnt offering on the altar. When the burnt offering began, the song of ForeverOne began also, and the trumpets, together with the instruments of David king of Israel.

28All the assembly worshiped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded; all this [continued] until the burnt offering was finished.

29When they had finished offering, the king and all who were present with him bowed themselves and worshiped.

30Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praises to ForeverOne with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer. They sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshiped.

Section 4

Luke 4:33-5:7

19 verses

Luke Chapter 4

33In the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice, 34saying, "Ah! what have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are: the Holy One of God!" 35Jesus rebuked him, saying, "Be silent, and come out of him!" When the demon had thrown him down in the middle of them, he came out of him, having done him no harm.

36Amazement came on all, and they spoke together, one with another, saying, "What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!" 37News about him went out into every place of the surrounding region.

38He rose up from the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. Simon's mother-in-law was afflicted with a great fever, and they begged him for her.

39He stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her. Immediately she rose up and served them.

40When the sun was setting, all those who had any sick with various diseases brought them to him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.

41Demons also came out of many, crying out, and saying, "You are the AnointedOne, the Son of God!" Rebuking them, he didn't allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the AnointedOne.

42When it was day, he departed and went into an uninhabited place, and the multitudes looked for him, and came to him, and held on to him, so that he wouldn't go away from them.

43But he said to them, "I must preach the good news of God's Kingdom to the other cities also. For this reason I have been sent." 44He was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.

Luke Chapter 5

1Now while the multitude pressed on him and heard the word of God, he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret.

2He saw two boats standing by the lake, but the fishermen had gone out of them, and were washing their nets.

3He entered into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and asked him to put out a little from the land. He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat.

4When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, "Put out into the deep, and let down your nets for a catch." 5Simon answered him, "Master, we worked all night, and took nothing; but at your word I will let down the net." 6When they had done this, they caught a great multitude of fish, and their net was breaking.

7They beckoned to their partners in the other boat, that they should come and help them. They came, and filled both boats, so that they began to sink.
