Leviticus 25:29-43

15 verses

Leviticus Chapter 25

29"'If a man sells a dwelling house in a walled city, then he may redeem it within a whole year after it has been sold. For a full year he shall have the right of redemption.

30If it isn't redeemed within the space of a full year, then the house that is in the walled city shall be made sure in perpetuity to him who bought it, throughout his generations. It shall not be released in the Jubilee.

31But the houses of the villages which have no wall around them shall be reckoned with the fields of the country: they may be redeemed, and they shall be released in the Jubilee.

32"'Nevertheless the cities of the Levites, the houses in the cities of their possession, the Levites may redeem at any time.

33The Levites may redeem the house that was sold, and the city of his possession, and it shall be released in the Jubilee; for the houses of the cities of the Levites are their possession among the children of Israel.

34But the field of the suburbs of their cities may not be sold; for it is their perpetual possession.

35"'If your brother has become poor, and his hand can't support him among you; then you shall uphold him. He shall live with you like an alien and a temporary resident.

36Take no interest from him or profit, but fear your God; that your brother may live among you.

37Don't lend him your money at interest, nor give him your food for profit.

38I am ForeverOne your God, who brought you here out of the land of Egypt, to give you the land of Canaan, and to be your God.

39"'If your brother has grown poor among you, and sells himself to you; you mustn't make him serve as a slave.

40As a hired servant, and as a temporary resident, he shall be with you; he shall serve with you until the Year of Jubilee: 41then he shall go out from you, he and his children with him, and shall return to his own family, and to the possession of his fathers.

42For they are my servants, whom I brought here out of the land of Egypt. They shall not be sold as slaves.

43Don't rule over him with harshness, but shall fear your God.

Section 2

Isaiah 60:1-61:3

25 verses

Isaiah Chapter 60

1"Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of ForeverOne is risen on you.

2For, behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples; but ForeverOne will arise on you, and his glory shall be seen on you.

3Nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.

4"Lift up your eyes all around, and see: they all gather themselves together, they come to you; your sons shall come from far, and your daughters shall be carried in the arms.

5Then you shall see and be radiant, and your heart shall thrill and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, the wealth of the nations shall come to you.

6The multitude of camels shall cover you, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come; they shall bring gold and frankincense, and shall proclaim the praises of ForeverOne.

7All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together to you, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister to you; they shall come up with acceptance on my altar; and I will glorify the house of my glory.

8"Who are these who fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?

9Surely the islands shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring your sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, for the name of ForeverOne your God, and for the Holy One of Israel, because he has glorified you.

10"Foreigners shall build up your walls, and their kings shall minister to you: for in my wrath I struck you, but in my favor have I had mercy on you.

11Your gates also shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring to you the wealth of the nations, and their kings led captive.

12For that nation and kingdom that will not serve you shall perish; yes, those nations shall be utterly wasted.

13"The glory of Lebanon shall come to you, the fir tree, the pine, and the box tree together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious.

14The sons of those who afflicted you shall come bending to you; and all those who despised you shall bow themselves down at the soles of your feet; and they shall call you The city of ForeverOne, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

15"Whereas you have been forsaken and hated, so that no man passed through you, I will make you an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.

16You shall also drink the milk of the nations, and shall nurse from royal breasts; and you shall know that I, ForeverOne, am your Savior, and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

17For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron. I will also make your officers peace, and righteousness your ruler.

18Violence shall no more be heard in your land, desolation nor destruction within your borders; but you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise.

19The sun shall be no more your light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light to you: but ForeverOne will be to you an everlasting light, and your God your glory.

20Your sun shall no more go down, neither shall your moon withdraw itself; for ForeverOne will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended.

21Your people also shall be all righteous; they shall inherit the land forever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.

22The little one shall become a thousand, and the small one a strong nation; I, ForeverOne, will hasten it in its time."

Isaiah Chapter 61

1The Spirit of LordOfMine ForeverOne is on me; because ForeverOne has anointed me to preach good news to the humble. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to those who are bound; 2to proclaim the year of ForeverOne's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; 3to appoint to those who mourn in Zion, to give to them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of ForeverOne, that he may be glorified.

Section 3

Psalm 39

14 verses

Psalm 39

For the Chief Musician. For Jeduthun. A Psalm by David.

1I said, "I will watch my ways, so that I don't sin with my tongue. I will keep my mouth with a bridle while the wicked is before me." 2I was mute with silence. I held my peace, even from good. My sorrow was stirred.

3My heart was hot within me. While I meditated, the fire burned: I spoke with my tongue: 4"ForeverOne, show me my end, what is the measure of my days. Let me know how frail I am.

5Behold, you have made my days handbreadths. My lifetime is as nothing before you. Surely every man stands as a breath." Selah.

6"Surely every man walks like a shadow. Surely they busy themselves in vain. He heaps up, and doesn't know who shall gather.

7Now, LordOfMine, what do I wait for? My hope is in you.

8Deliver me from all my transgressions. Don't make me the reproach of the foolish.

9I was mute. I didn't open my mouth, because you did it.

10Remove your scourge from me. I am overcome by the blow of your hand.

11When you rebuke and correct man for iniquity, You consume his wealth like a moth. Surely every man is but a breath." Selah.

12"Hear my prayer, ForeverOne, and give ear to my cry. Don't be silent at my tears. For I am a stranger with you, a foreigner, as all my fathers were.

13Oh spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go away, and exist no more."

Section 4

Acts 26:9-32

24 verses

Acts Chapter 26

9"I myself most certainly thought that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.

10I also did this in Jerusalem. I both shut up many of the saints in prisons, having received authority from the chief priests, and when they were put to death I gave my vote against them.

11Punishing them often in all the synagogues, I tried to make them blaspheme. Being exceedingly enraged against them, I persecuted them even to foreign cities.

12"Whereupon as I traveled to Damascus with the authority and commission from the chief priests, 13at noon, O king, I saw on the way a light from the sky, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those who traveled with me.

14When we had all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew language, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.' 15"I said, 'Who are you, Lord?' "He said, 'I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.

16But arise, and stand on your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose: to appoint you a servant and a witness both of the things which you have seen, and of the things which I will reveal to you; 17delivering you from the people, and from the Gentiles, to whom I send you, 18to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in me.' 19"So, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision, 20but declared first to them of Damascus, at Jerusalem, and throughout all the country of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, doing actions worthy of repentance.

21For this reason the Jews seized me in the temple and tried to kill me.

22So, having obtained the help that is from God, I stand to this day testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would happen, 23how the AnointedOne must suffer, and how, by the resurrection of the dead, he would be first to proclaim light both to these people and to the Gentiles." 24As he thus made his defense, Festus said with a loud voice, "Paul, you are crazy! Your great learning is driving you insane!" 25But he said, "I am not crazy, most excellent Festus, but boldly declare words of truth and reasonableness.

26For the king knows of these things, to whom also I speak freely. For I am persuaded that none of these things is hidden from him, for this has not been done in a corner.

27King Agrippa, do you believe the prophets? I know that you believe." 28Agrippa said to Paul, "With a little persuasion are you trying to make me a Christian?" 29Paul said, "I pray to God, that whether with little or with much, not only you, but also all that hear me today, might become just like me, except for these bonds." 30The king rose up with the governor, and Bernice, and those who sat with them.

31When they had withdrawn, they spoke to one another, saying, "This man does nothing worthy of death or of bonds." 32Agrippa said to Festus, "This man might have been set free if he had not appealed to Caesar."
