Exodus Chapter 16

²²On the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for each one, and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses.

²³He said to them, "This is what ForeverOne has spoken, 'Tomorrow is a solemn rest, a holy Sabbath to ForeverOne. Bake what you want to bake, and boil what you want to boil; and all that remains over lay up for yourselves to be kept until the morning.'" ²⁴They laid it up until the morning, as Moses asked, and it didn't become foul, nor was there any worm in it.

²⁵Moses said, "Eat that today, for today is a Sabbath to ForeverOne. Today you won't find it in the field.

²⁶Six days you shall gather it, but on the seventh day is the Sabbath. In it there shall be none." ²⁷On the seventh day some of the people went out to gather, and they found none.

²⁸ForeverOne said to Moses, "How long do you refuse to keep my commandments and my laws?

²⁹Behold, because ForeverOne has given you the Sabbath, therefore he gives you on the sixth day the bread of two days. Everyone stay in his place. Let no one go out of his place on the seventh day." ³⁰So the people rested on the seventh day.

³¹The house of Israel called its name Manna, and it was like coriander seed, white; and its taste was like wafers with honey.

³²Moses said, "This is the thing which ForeverOne has commanded, 'Let an omer-full of it be kept throughout your generations, that they may see the bread with which I fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you out from the land of Egypt.'" ³³Moses said to Aaron, "Take a pot, and put an omer-full of manna in it, and lay it up before ForeverOne, to be kept throughout your generations." ³⁴As ForeverOne commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept.

³⁵The children of Israel ate the manna forty years, until they came to an inhabited land. They ate the manna until they came to the borders of the land of Canaan.

³⁶Now an omer is the tenth part of an ephah.

Exodus Chapter 17

¹All the congregation of the children of Israel traveled from the wilderness of Sin, by their journeys, according to ForeverOne's commandment, and encamped in Rephidim; but there was no water for the people to drink.

²Therefore the people quarreled with Moses, and said, "Give us water to drink." Moses said to them, "Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test ForeverOne?" ³The people were thirsty for water there; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, "Why have you brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us, our children, and our livestock with thirst?" ⁴Moses cried to ForeverOne, saying, "What shall I do with these people? They are almost ready to stone me." ⁵ForeverOne said to Moses, "Walk on before the people, and take the elders of Israel with you, and take the rod in your hand with which you struck the Nile, and go.

⁶Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock in Horeb. You shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink." Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

⁷He called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because the children of Israel quarreled, and because they tested ForeverOne, saying, "Is ForeverOne among us, or not?"

1 Kings Chapter 7

²³He made the molten sea of ten cubits from brim to brim, round in compass, and its height was five cubits; and a line of thirty cubits encircled it.

²⁴Under its brim around there were buds which encircled it, for ten cubits, encircling the sea: the buds were in two rows, cast when it was cast.

²⁵It stood on twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east; and the sea was set on them above, and all their hind parts were inward.

²⁶It was a handbreadth thick: and its brim was worked like the brim of a cup, like the flower of a lily: it held two thousand baths.

²⁷He made the ten bases of brass; four cubits was the length of one base, and four cubits its width, and three cubits its height.

²⁸The work of the bases was like this: they had panels; and there were panels between the ledges; ²⁹and on the panels that were between the ledges were lions, oxen, and cherubim; and on the ledges there was a pedestal above; and beneath the lions and oxen were wreaths of hanging work.

³⁰Every base had four bronze wheels, and axles of brass; and the four feet of it had supports: beneath the basin were the supports molten, with wreaths at the side of each.

³¹The mouth of it within the capital and above was a cubit: and its mouth was round after the work of a pedestal, a cubit and a half; and also on its mouth were engravings, and their panels were foursquare, not round.

³²The four wheels were underneath the panels; and the axles of the wheels were in the base: and the height of a wheel was a cubit and half a cubit.

³³The work of the wheels was like the work of a chariot wheel: their axles, and their rims, and their spokes, and their naves, were all molten.

³⁴There were four supports at the four corners of each base: its supports were of the base itself.

³⁵In the top of the base was there a round compass half a cubit high; and on the top of the base its stays and its panels were the same.

³⁶On the plates of its stays, and on its panels, he engraved cherubim, lions, and palm trees, according to the space of each, with wreaths all around.

³⁷In this way, he made the ten bases: all of them had one casting, one measure, and one form.

³⁸He made ten basins of brass: one basin contained forty baths; and every basin was four cubits; and on every one of the ten bases one basin.

³⁹He set the bases, five on the right side of the house, and five on the left side of the house: and he set the sea on the right side of the house eastward, toward the south.

⁴⁰Hiram made the basins, and the shovels, and the basins. So Hiram finished doing all the work that he worked for king Solomon in the house of ForeverOne: ⁴¹the two pillars, and the two bowls of the capitals that were on the top of the pillars; and the two networks to cover the two bowls of the capitals that were on the top of the pillars; ⁴²and the four hundred pomegranates for the two networks; two rows of pomegranates for each network, to cover the two bowls of the capitals that were on the pillars; ⁴³and the ten bases, and the ten basins on the bases; ⁴⁴and the one sea, and the twelve oxen under the sea; ⁴⁵and the pots, and the shovels, and the basins: even all these vessels, which Hiram made for king Solomon, in the house of ForeverOne, were of burnished brass.

⁴⁶The king cast them in the plain of the Jordan, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zarethan.

⁴⁷Solomon left all the vessels [unweighed], because they were exceeding many: the weight of the brass could not be found out.

⁴⁸Solomon made all the vessels that were in the house of ForeverOne: the golden altar, and the table whereupon the show bread was, of gold; ⁴⁹and the lampstands, five on the right side, and five on the left, before the oracle, of pure gold; and the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs, of gold; ⁵⁰and the cups, and the snuffers, and the basins, and the spoons, and the fire pans, of pure gold; and the hinges, both for the doors of the inner house, the most holy place, and for the doors of the house, [to wit], of the temple, of gold.

⁵¹Thus all the work that king Solomon worked in the house of ForeverOne was finished. Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated, [even] the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, and put them in the treasuries of the house of ForeverOne.

Nehemiah Chapter 1

¹The words of Nehemiah the son of Hacaliah. Now in the month Chislev, in the twentieth year, as I was in Shushan the palace, ²Hanani, one of my brothers, came, he and certain men out of Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews who had escaped, who were left of the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem.

³They said to me, "The remnant who are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach. The wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and its gates are burned with fire." ⁴When I heard these words I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days; and I fasted and prayed before the God of heaven, ⁵and said, "I beg you, ForeverOne, the God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps covenant and loving kindness with those who love him and keep his commandments: ⁶Let your ear now be attentive, and your eyes open, that you may listen to the prayer of your servant, which I pray before you at this time, day and night, for the children of Israel your servants while I confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against you. Yes, I and my father's house have sinned.

⁷We have dealt very corruptly against you, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the ordinances, which you commanded your servant Moses.

⁸"Remember, I beg you, the word that you commanded your servant Moses, saying, 'If you trespass, I will scatter you abroad among the peoples; ⁹but if you return to me, and keep my commandments and do them, though your outcasts were in the uttermost part of the heavens, yet will I gather them from there, and will bring them to the place that I have chosen, to cause my name to dwell there.' ¹⁰"Now these are your servants and your people, whom you have redeemed by your great power, and by your strong hand.

¹¹LordOfMine, I beg you, let your ear be attentive now to the prayer of your servant, and to the prayer of your servants, who delight to fear your name; and please prosper your servant today, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man." Now I was cup bearer to the king.

Nehemiah Chapter 2

¹In the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, when wine was before him, I took up the wine, and gave it to the king. Now I had not been [before] sad in his presence.

²The king said to me, "Why is your face sad, since you are not sick? This is nothing else but sorrow of heart." Then I was very much afraid.

³I said to the king, "Let the king live forever! Why shouldn't my face be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers' tombs, lies waste, and its gates have been consumed with fire?" ⁴Then the king said to me, "For what do you make request?" So I prayed to the God of heaven.

⁵I said to the king, "If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, that you would send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers' tombs, that I may build it." ⁶The king said to me (the queen was also sitting by him), "For how long shall your journey be? And when will you return?" So it pleased the king to send me; and I set him a time.

Luke Chapter 19

¹He entered and was passing through Jericho.

²There was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.

³He was trying to see who Jesus was, and couldn't because of the crowd, because he was short.

⁴He ran on ahead, and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was going to pass that way.

⁵When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and saw him, and said to him, "Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house." ⁶He hurried, came down, and received him joyfully.

⁷When they saw it, they all murmured, saying, "He has gone in to lodge with a man who is a sinner." ⁸Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, "Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much." ⁹Jesus said to him, "Today, salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham.

¹⁰For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost." ¹¹As they heard these things, he went on and told a parable, because he was near Jerusalem, and they supposed that God's Kingdom would be revealed immediately.

¹²He said therefore, "A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return.

¹³He called ten servants of his and gave them ten mina coins, and told them, 'Conduct business until I come.' ¹⁴But his citizens hated him, and sent an envoy after him, saying, 'We don't want this man to reign over us.' ¹⁵"When he had come back again, having received the kingdom, he commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by conducting business.

¹⁶The first came before him, saying, 'Master, your mina has made ten more minas.' ¹⁷"He said to him, 'Well done, you good servant! Because you were found faithful with very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.' ¹⁸"The second came, saying, 'Your mina, master, has made five minas.' ¹⁹"So he said to him, 'And you are to be over five cities.' ²⁰Another came, saying, 'Master, behold, your mina, which I kept laid away in a handkerchief, ²¹for I feared you, because you are an exacting man. You take up what you didn't lay down, and reap what you didn't sow.' ²²"He said to him, 'Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant! You knew that I am an exacting man, taking up what I didn't lay down, and reaping what I didn't sow.

²³Then why didn't you deposit my money in the bank, and at my coming, I might have earned interest on it?' ²⁴He said to those who stood by, 'Take the mina away from him and give it to him who has the ten minas.' ²⁵"They said to him, 'Master, he has ten minas!' ²⁶'For I tell you that to everyone who has, will more be given; but from him who doesn't have, even what he has will be taken away from him.

²⁷But bring those enemies of mine who didn't want me to reign over them here, and kill them before me.'"
