Leviticus Chapter 22

²⁶ForeverOne spoke to Moses, saying, ²⁷"When a bull, or a sheep, or a goat, is born, then it shall remain seven days with its mother; and from the eighth day and from then on it shall be accepted for the offering of an offering made by fire to ForeverOne.

²⁸Whether it is a cow or ewe, you mustn't kill it and its young both in one day.

²⁹"When you sacrifice a sacrifice of thanksgiving to ForeverOne, you shall sacrifice it so that you may be accepted.

³⁰It shall be eaten on the same day; you shall leave none of it until the morning. I am ForeverOne.

³¹"Therefore you shall keep my commandments, and do them. I am ForeverOne.

³²Don't profane my holy name, but I will be made holy among the children of Israel. I am ForeverOne who makes you holy, ³³who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. I am ForeverOne."

Leviticus Chapter 23

Isaiah Chapter 50

¹⁰Who is among you who fears ForeverOne, who obeys the voice of his servant? He who walks in darkness, and has no light, let him trust in the name of ForeverOne, and rely on his God.

¹¹Behold, all you who kindle a fire, who adorn yourselves with torches around yourselves; walk in the flame of your fire, and among the brands that you have kindled. You shall have this of my hand; you shall lie down in sorrow.

Isaiah Chapter 51

¹"Listen to me, you who follow after righteousness, you who seek ForeverOne: look to the rock you were cut from, and to the hold of the pit you were dug from.

²Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah who bore you; for when he was but one I called him, and I blessed him, and made him many.

³For ForeverOne has comforted Zion; he has comforted all her waste places, and has made her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of ForeverOne; joy and gladness shall be found in it, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

⁴"Attend to me, my people; and give ear to me, my nation: for a law shall go forth from me, and I will establish my justice for a light of the peoples.

⁵My righteousness is near, my salvation is gone forth, and my arms shall judge the peoples; the islands shall wait for me, and on my arm shall they trust.

⁶Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look on the earth beneath; for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment; and those who dwell there shall die in the same way: but my salvation shall be forever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.

⁷"Listen to me, you who know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; don't fear the reproach of men, neither be dismayed at their insults.

⁸For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool; but my righteousness shall be forever, and my salvation to all generations." ⁹Awake, awake, put on strength, arm of ForeverOne; awake, as in the days of old, the generations of ancient times. Isn't it you who cut Rahab in pieces, who pierced the monster?

¹⁰Isn't it you who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep; who made the depths of the sea a way for the redeemed to pass over?

¹¹The ransomed of ForeverOne shall return, and come with singing to Zion; and everlasting joy shall be on their heads: they shall obtain gladness and joy; [and] sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

¹²"I, even I, am he who comforts you: who are you, that you are afraid of man who shall die, and of the son of man who shall be made as grass; ¹³and have forgotten ForeverOne your Maker, who stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and fear continually all the day because of the fury of the oppressor, when he makes ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?

¹⁴The captive exile shall speedily be freed; and he shall not die [and go down] into the pit, neither shall his bread fail.

¹⁵For I am ForeverOne your God, who stirs up the sea, so that its waves roar: ForeverOne of Armies is his name.

¹⁶I have put my words in your mouth, and have covered you in the shadow of my hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and tell Zion, 'You are my people.'" ¹⁷Awake, awake, stand up, Jerusalem, that have drunk at the hand of ForeverOne the cup of his wrath; you have drunken the bowl of the cup of staggering, and drained it.

¹⁸There is none to guide her among all the sons whom she bore; neither is there any who takes her by the hand among all the sons who she has brought up.

¹⁹These two things have happened to you. Who will bemoan you? Desolation and destruction, and the famine and the sword; how shall I comfort you?

²⁰Your sons have fainted, they lie at the head of all the streets, as an antelope in a net; they are full of the wrath of ForeverOne, the rebuke of your God.

²¹Therefore hear now this, you afflicted, and drunken, but not with wine: ²²Thus says your Lord ForeverOne, and your God who pleads the cause of his people, "Behold, I have taken out of your hand the cup of staggering, even the bowl of the cup of my wrath; you shall no more drink it again: ²³and I will put it into the hand of those who afflict you, who have said to your soul, 'Bow down, that we may walk over you;' and you have laid your back as the ground, and as the street, to those who walk over."

Psalm 32

By David. A contemplative psalm.

¹Blessed is he whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is covered.

²Blessed is the man to whom ForeverOne doesn't impute iniquity, in whose spirit there is no deceit.

³When I kept silence, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.

⁴For day and night your hand was heavy on me. My strength was sapped in the heat of summer. Selah.

⁵I acknowledged my sin to you. I didn't hide my iniquity. I said, I will confess my transgressions to ForeverOne, and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

⁶For this, let everyone who is godly pray to you in a time when you may be found. Surely when the great waters overflow, they shall not reach to him.

⁷You are my hiding place. You will preserve me from trouble. You will surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.

⁸I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you.

⁹Don't be like the horse, or like the mule, which have no understanding, who are controlled by bit and bridle, or else they will not come near to you.

¹⁰Many sorrows come to the wicked, but loving kindness shall surround him who trusts in ForeverOne.

¹¹Be glad in ForeverOne, and rejoice, you righteous! Shout for joy, all you who are upright in heart!

Psalm 33

¹Rejoice in ForeverOne, you righteous! Praise is fitting for the upright.

²Give thanks to ForeverOne with the lyre. Sing praises to him with the harp of ten strings.

³Sing to him a new song. Play skillfully with a shout of joy!

⁴For the word of ForeverOne is right. All his work is done in faithfulness.

⁵He loves righteousness and justice. The earth is full of the loving kindness of ForeverOne.

⁶By ForeverOne's word, the heavens were made; all their army by the breath of his mouth.

⁷He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap. He lays up the deeps in storehouses.

⁸Let all the earth fear ForeverOne. Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.

⁹For he spoke, and it was done. He commanded, and it stood firm.

¹⁰ForeverOne brings the counsel of the nations to nothing. He makes the thoughts of the peoples to be of no effect.

¹¹The counsel of ForeverOne stands fast forever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.

¹²Blessed is the nation whose God is ForeverOne, the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance.

¹³ForeverOne looks from heaven. He sees all the sons of men.

¹⁴From the place of his habitation he looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth, ¹⁵he who fashions all of their hearts; and he considers all of their works.

¹⁶There is no king saved by the multitude of an army. A mighty man is not delivered by great strength.

¹⁷A horse is a vain thing for safety, neither does he deliver any by his great power.

¹⁸Behold, ForeverOne's eye is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his loving kindness; ¹⁹to deliver their soul from death, to keep them alive in famine.

²⁰Our soul has waited for ForeverOne. He is our help and our shield.

²¹For our heart rejoices in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.

²²Let your loving kindness be on us, ForeverOne, since we have hoped in you.

Acts Chapter 22

¹⁷"When I had returned to Jerusalem, and while I prayed in the temple, I fell into a trance, ¹⁸and saw him saying to me, 'Hurry and get out of Jerusalem quickly, because they will not receive testimony concerning me from you.' ¹⁹I said, 'Lord, they themselves know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue those who believed in you.

²⁰When the blood of Stephen, your witness, was shed, I also was standing by, consenting to his death, and guarding the cloaks of those who killed him.' ²¹"He said to me, 'Depart, for I will send you out far from here to the Gentiles.'" ²²They listened to him until he said that; then they lifted up their voice and said, "Rid the earth of this fellow, for he isn't fit to live!" ²³As they cried out, threw off their cloaks, and threw dust into the air, ²⁴the commanding officer commanded him to be brought into the barracks, ordering him to be examined by whipping, that he might know for what crime they shouted against him like that.

²⁵When they had tied him up with thongs, Paul asked the centurion who stood by, "Is it lawful for you to whip a man who is a Roman, and not found guilty?" ²⁶When the centurion heard it, he went to the commanding officer and told him, "Watch what you are about to do, for this man is a Roman!" ²⁷The commanding officer came and asked him, "Tell me, are you a Roman?" He said, "Yes." ²⁸The commanding officer answered, "I bought my citizenship for a great price." Paul said, "But I was born a Roman." ²⁹Immediately those who were about to examine him departed from him, and the commanding officer also was afraid when he realized that he was a Roman, because he had bound him.

³⁰But on the next day, desiring to know the truth about why he was accused by the Jews, he freed him from the bonds, and commanded the chief priests and all the council to come together, and brought Paul down and set him before them.

Acts Chapter 23

¹Paul, looking steadfastly at the council, said, "Brothers, I have lived before God in all good conscience until this very day." ²The high priest, Ananias, commanded those who stood by him to strike him on the mouth.

³Then Paul said to him, "God will strike you, you whitewashed wall! Do you sit to judge me according to the law, and command me to be struck contrary to the law?" ⁴Those who stood by said, "Do you malign God's high priest?" ⁵Paul said, "I didn't know, brothers, that he was high priest. For it is written, 'You shall not speak evil of a ruler of your people.'"
