Leviticus Chapter 8

⁶Moses brought Aaron and his sons, and washed them with water.

⁷He put the coat on him, tied the sash on him, clothed him with the robe, put the ephod on him, and he tied the skillfully woven band of the ephod on him, and fastened it to him with it.

⁸He placed the breastplate on him; and in the breastplate he put the Urim and the Thummim.

⁹He set the turban on his head; and on the turban, in front, he set the golden plate, the holy crown; as ForeverOne commanded Moses.

¹⁰Moses took the anointing oil, and anointed the tabernacle and all that was in it, and sanctified them.

¹¹He sprinkled it on the altar seven times, and anointed the altar and all its vessels, and the basin and its base, to sanctify them.

¹²He poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron's head, and anointed him, to sanctify him.

¹³Moses brought Aaron's sons, and clothed them with coats, and tied sashes on them, and put headbands on them; as ForeverOne commanded Moses.

¹⁴He brought the bull of the sin offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the bull of the sin offering.

¹⁵He killed it; and Moses took the blood, and put it around on the horns of the altar with his finger, and purified the altar, and poured out the blood at the base of the altar, and sanctified it, to make atonement for it.

¹⁶He took all the fat that was on the innards, and the cover of the liver, and the two kidneys, and their fat; and Moses burned it on the altar.

¹⁷But the bull, and its skin, and its flesh, and its dung, he burned with fire outside the camp; as ForeverOne commanded Moses.

¹⁸He presented the ram of the burnt offering: and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram.

¹⁹He killed it; and Moses sprinkled the blood around on the altar.

²⁰He cut the ram into its pieces; and Moses burned the head, and the pieces, and the fat.

²¹He washed the innards and the legs with water; and Moses burned the whole ram on the altar. It was a burnt offering for a pleasant aroma. It was an offering made by fire to ForeverOne; as ForeverOne commanded Moses.

Isaiah Chapter 9

¹But there shall be no more gloom for her who was in anguish. In the former time, he brought into contempt the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali; but in the latter time he has made it glorious, by the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.

²The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. Those who lived in the land of the shadow of death, on them the light has shined.

³You have multiplied the nation. You have increased their joy. They rejoice before you according to the joy in harvest, as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.

⁴For the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, you have broken as in the day of Midian.

⁵For all the armor of the armed man in the noisy battle, and the garments rolled in blood, will be for burning, fuel for the fire.

⁶For to us a child is born. To us a son is given; and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

⁷Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, on the throne of David, and on his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from that time on, even forever. The zeal of ForeverOne of Armies will perform this.

⁸LordOfMine sent a word into Jacob, and it falls on Israel.

⁹All the people will know, including Ephraim and the inhabitants of Samaria, who say in pride and in arrogance of heart, ¹⁰"The bricks have fallen, but we will build with cut stone. The sycamore fig trees have been cut down, but we will put cedars in their place." ¹¹Therefore ForeverOne will set up on high against him the adversaries of Rezin, and will stir up his enemies, ¹²The Syrians in front, and the Philistines behind; and they will devour Israel with open mouth. For all this, his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

¹³Yet the people have not turned to him who struck them, neither have they sought ForeverOne of Armies.

¹⁴Therefore ForeverOne will cut off from Israel head and tail, palm branch and reed, in one day.

¹⁵The elder and the honorable man is the head, and the prophet who teaches lies is the tail.

¹⁶For those who lead this people lead them astray; and those who are led by them are destroyed.

¹⁷Therefore LordOfMine will not rejoice over their young men, neither will he have compassion on their fatherless and widows; for everyone is profane and an evildoer, and every mouth speaks folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

¹⁸For wickedness burns like a fire. It devours the briers and thorns; yes, it kindles in the thickets of the forest, and they roll upward in a column of smoke.

¹⁹Through the wrath of ForeverOne of Armies, the land is burned up; and the people are the fuel for the fire. No one spares his brother.

²⁰One will devour on the right hand, and be hungry; and he will eat on the left hand, and they will not be satisfied. Everyone will eat the flesh of his own arm: ²¹Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh; and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

Isaiah Chapter 10

¹Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, and to the writers who write oppressive decrees; ²to deprive the needy from justice, and to rob the poor among my people of their rights, that widows may be their spoil, and that they may make the fatherless their prey!

³What will you do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which will come from afar? To whom will you flee for help? Where will you leave your wealth?

⁴They will only bow down under the prisoners, and will fall under the slain. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

⁵Alas Assyrian, the rod of my anger, the staff in whose hand is my indignation!

⁶I will send him against a profane nation, and against the people who anger me will I give him a command to take the spoil and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.

⁷However he doesn't mean so, neither does his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy, and to cut off not a few nations.

Job Chapter 30

¹"But now those who are younger than I have me in derision, whose fathers I would have disdained to put with my sheep dogs.

²Of what use is the strength of their hands to me, men in whom ripe age has perished?

³They are gaunt from lack and famine. They gnaw the dry ground, in the gloom of waste and desolation.

⁴They pluck salt herbs by the bushes. The roots of the broom are their food.

⁵They are driven out from the midst of men. They cry after them as after a thief; ⁶So that they dwell in frightful valleys, and in holes of the earth and of the rocks.

⁷Among the bushes they bray; and under the nettles they are gathered together.

⁸They are children of fools, yes, children of base men. They were flogged out of the land.

⁹"Now I have become their song. Yes, I am a byword to them.

¹⁰They abhor me, they stand aloof from me, and don't hesitate to spit in my face.

¹¹For he has untied his cord, and afflicted me; and they have thrown off restraint before me.

¹²On my right hand rise the rabble. They thrust aside my feet, They throw up against me their ways of destruction.

¹³They mar my path, They set forward my calamity, without anyone's help.

¹⁴As through a wide breach they come, in the midst of the ruin they roll themselves in.

¹⁵Terrors have turned on me. They chase my honor like the wind. My welfare has passed away as a cloud.

¹⁶"Now my soul is poured out within me. Days of affliction have taken hold on me.

¹⁷In the night season my bones are pierced in me, and the pains that gnaw me take no rest.

¹⁸By great force is my garment disfigured. It binds me about as the collar of my coat.

¹⁹He has thrown me into the mire. I have become like dust and ashes.

²⁰I cry to you, and you do not answer me. I stand up, and you gaze at me.

²¹You have turned to be cruel to me. With the might of your hand you persecute me.

²²You lift me up to the wind, and drive me with it. You dissolve me in the storm.

²³For I know that you will bring me to death, To the house appointed for all living.

Acts Chapter 5

³³But they, when they heard this, were cut to the heart, and were determined to kill them.

³⁴But one stood up in the council, a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, honored by all the people, and commanded to put the apostles out for a little while.

³⁵He said to them, "You men of Israel, be careful concerning these men, what you are about to do.

³⁶For before these days Theudas rose up, making himself out to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves. He was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were dispersed, and came to nothing.

³⁷After this man, Judas of Galilee rose up in the days of the enrollment, and drew away some people after him. He also perished, and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered abroad.

³⁸Now I tell you, withdraw from these men, and leave them alone. For if this counsel or this work is of men, it will be overthrown.

³⁹But if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow it, and you would be found even to be fighting against God!" ⁴⁰They agreed with him. Summoning the apostles, they beat them and commanded them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

⁴¹So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for Jesus' name.

⁴²Every day, in the temple and at home, they never stopped teaching and preaching Jesus, the AnointedOne.

Acts Chapter 6

¹Now in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, a complaint arose from the Hellenists against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily service.

²The twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, "It is not appropriate for us to forsake the word of God and serve tables.

³So select from among you, brothers, seven men of good report, full of the Holy Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

⁴But we will continue steadfastly in prayer and in the ministry of the word." ⁵These words pleased the whole multitude. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolaus, a proselyte of Antioch; ⁶whom they set before the apostles. When they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

⁷The word of God increased and the number of the disciples greatly multiplied in Jerusalem. A great group of the priests were obedient to the faith.
