Leviticus 21:16-22:9

18 verses

Leviticus Chapter 21

16ForeverOne spoke to Moses, saying, 17"Say to Aaron, 'None of your offspring throughout their generations who has a blemish, may approach to offer the bread of his God.

18For whatever man he is that has a blemish, he shall not draw near: a blind man, or a lame, or he who has a flat nose, or any deformity, 19or a man who has an injured foot, or an injured hand, 20or hunchbacked, or a dwarf, or one who has a defect in his eye, or an itching disease, or scabs, or who has damaged testicles; 21no man of the offspring of Aaron the priest who has a blemish, shall come near to offer the offerings of ForeverOne made by fire. Since he has a blemish, he shall not come near to offer the bread of his God.

22He shall eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy.

23He shall not come near to the veil, nor come near to the altar, because he has a blemish; that he may not profane my sanctuaries, for I am ForeverOne who sanctifies them.'" 24So Moses spoke to Aaron, and to his sons, and to all the children of Israel.

Leviticus Chapter 22

1ForeverOne spoke to Moses, saying, 2"Tell Aaron and his sons to separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, which they make holy to me, and that they not profane my holy name. I am ForeverOne.

3"Tell them, 'If anyone of all your offspring throughout your generations approaches the holy things, which the children of Israel make holy to ForeverOne, having his uncleanness on him, that soul shall be cut off from before me. I am ForeverOne.

4"'Whoever of the offspring of Aaron is a leper or has an issue; he shall not eat of the holy things, until he is clean. Whoever touches anything that is unclean by the dead, or a man whose offspring goes from him; 5or whoever touches any creeping thing, whereby he may be made unclean, or a man of whom he may take uncleanness, whatever uncleanness he has; 6the person that touches any such shall be unclean until the evening, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he bathe his body in water.

7When the sun is down, he shall be clean; and afterward he shall eat of the holy things, because it is his bread.

8What dies of itself, or is torn by animals, he shall not eat, defiling himself by it. I am ForeverOne.

9"'They shall therefore follow my requirements, lest they bear sin for it, and die in it, if they profane it. I am ForeverOne who sanctifies them.

Isaiah 48:9-49:12

26 verses

Isaiah Chapter 48

9For my name's sake will I defer my anger, and for my praise will I refrain for you, that I not cut you off.

10Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have chosen you in the furnace of affliction.

11For my own sake, for my own sake, will I do it; for how should [my name] be profaned? and my glory I will not give to another.

12"Listen to me, O Jacob, and Israel my called: I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.

13Yes, my hand has laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand has spread out the heavens: when I call to them, they stand up together.

14"Assemble yourselves, all you, and hear; who among them has declared these things? He whom ForeverOne loves shall perform his pleasure on Babylon, and his arm [shall be on] the Chaldeans.

15I, even I, have spoken; yes, I have called him; I have brought him, and he shall make his way prosperous.

16"Come near to me and hear this: "From the beginning I have not spoken in secret; from the time that it was, there am I." Now LordOfMine ForeverOne has sent me, with his Spirit.

17Thus says ForeverOne, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I am ForeverOne your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you on the way that you should go.

18Oh that you had listened to my commandments! then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea: 19your offspring also had been as the sand, and the offspring of your body like its grains: his name would not be cut off nor destroyed from before me.

20Go forth from Babylon, flee from the Chaldeans; with a voice of singing declare, tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth: say, ForeverOne has redeemed his servant Jacob.

21They didn't thirst when he led them through the deserts; he caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them; he split the rock also, and the waters gushed out.

22"There is no peace," says ForeverOne, "for the wicked."

Isaiah Chapter 49

1Listen, islands, to me; and listen, you peoples, from far: ForeverOne has called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother has he made mention of my name: 2and he has made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand, he has hidden me: and he has made me a polished shaft; in his quiver has he kept me close: 3and he said to me, "You are my servant; Israel, in whom I will be glorified." 4But I said, "I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for nothing and vanity; yet surely the justice [due] to me is with ForeverOne, and my reward with my God." 5Now says ForeverOne who formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, and that Israel be gathered to him (for I am honorable in the eyes of ForeverOne, and my God is become my strength); 6yes, he says, "It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give you for a light to the nations, that you may be my salvation to the end of the earth." 7Thus says ForeverOne, the Redeemer of Israel, [and] his Holy One, to him whom man despises, to him whom the nation abhors, to a servant of rulers: "Kings shall see and arise; princes, and they shall worship; because of ForeverOne who is faithful, [even] the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you." 8Thus says ForeverOne, "In an acceptable time have I answered you, and in a day of salvation have I helped you; and I will preserve you, and give you for a covenant of the people, to raise up the land, to make them inherit the desolate heritage: 9saying to those who are bound, 'Come out!'; to those who are in darkness, 'Show yourselves!' "They shall feed in the ways, and on all bare heights shall be their pasture.

10They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun strike them: for he who has mercy on them will lead them, even by springs of water he will guide them.

11I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted.

12Behold, these shall come from far; and behold, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim."

Psalm 28-29

22 verses

Psalm 28

By David.

1To you, ForeverOne, I call. My rock, don't be deaf to me; lest, if you are silent to me, I would become like those who go down into the pit.

2Hear the voice of my petitions, when I cry to you, when I lift up my hands toward your Most Holy Place.

3Don't draw me away with the wicked, with the workers of iniquity who speak peace with their neighbors, but mischief is in their hearts.

4Give them according to their work, and according to the wickedness of their doings. Give them according to the operation of their hands. Bring back on them what they deserve.

5Because they don't respect the works of ForeverOne, nor the operation of his hands, he will break them down and not build them up.

6Blessed be ForeverOne, because he has heard the voice of my petitions.

7ForeverOne is my strength and my shield. My heart has trusted in him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart greatly rejoices. With my song I will thank him.

8ForeverOne is their strength. He is a stronghold of salvation to his anointed.

9Save your people, and bless your inheritance. Be their shepherd also, and bear them up forever.

Psalm 29

A Psalm by David.

1Ascribe to ForeverOne, you sons of the mighty, ascribe to ForeverOne glory and strength.

2Ascribe to ForeverOne the glory due to his name. Worship ForeverOne in holy array.

3ForeverOne's voice is on the waters. The God of glory thunders, even ForeverOne on many waters.

4ForeverOne's voice is powerful. ForeverOne's voice is full of majesty.

5The voice of ForeverOne breaks the cedars. Yes, ForeverOne breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.

6He makes them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young, wild ox.

7ForeverOne's voice strikes with flashes of lightning.

8ForeverOne's voice shakes the wilderness. ForeverOne shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.

9ForeverOne's voice makes the deer calve, and strips the forests bare. In his temple everything says, "Glory!" 10ForeverOne sat enthroned at the Flood. Yes, ForeverOne sits as King forever.

11ForeverOne will give strength to his people. ForeverOne will bless his people with peace.

Acts 21:15-32

18 verses

Acts Chapter 21

15After these days we took up our baggage and went up to Jerusalem.

16Some of the disciples from Caesarea also went with us, bringing one Mnason of Cyprus, an early disciple, with whom we would stay.

17When we had come to Jerusalem, the brothers received us gladly.

18The day following, Paul went in with us to James; and all the elders were present.

19When he had greeted them, he reported one by one the things which God had worked among the Gentiles through his ministry.

20They, when they heard it, glorified God. They said to him, "You see, brother, how many thousands there are among the Jews of those who have believed, and they are all zealous for the law.

21They have been informed about you, that you teach all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children and not to walk after the customs.

22What then? The assembly must certainly meet, for they will hear that you have come.

23So do what we tell you. We have four men who have taken a vow.

24Take them and purify yourself with them, and pay their expenses for them, that they may shave their heads. Then all will know that there is no truth in the things that they have been informed about you, but that you yourself also walk keeping the law.

25But concerning the Gentiles who believe, we have written our decision that they should observe no such thing, except that they should keep themselves from food offered to idols, from blood, from strangled things, and from sexual immorality." 26Then Paul took the men, and the next day purified himself and went with them into the temple, declaring the fulfillment of the days of purification, until the offering was offered for every one of them.

27When the seven days were almost completed, the Jews from Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the multitude and laid hands on him, 28crying out, "Men of Israel, help! This is the man who teaches all men everywhere against the people, and the law, and this place. Moreover, he also brought Greeks into the temple, and has defiled this holy place!" 29For they had seen Trophimus, the Ephesian, with him in the city, and they supposed that Paul had brought him into the temple.

30All the city was moved and the people ran together. They seized Paul and dragged him out of the temple. Immediately the doors were shut.

31As they were trying to kill him, news came up to the commanding officer of the regiment that all Jerusalem was in an uproar.

32Immediately he took soldiers and centurions and ran down to them. They, when they saw the chief captain and the soldiers, stopped beating Paul.
