Exodus Chapter 30

¹⁷ForeverOne spoke to Moses, saying, ¹⁸"You shall also make a basin of brass, and its base of brass, in which to wash. You shall put it between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and you shall put water in it.

¹⁹Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet in it.

²⁰When they go into the Tent of Meeting, they shall wash with water, that they not die; or when they come near to the altar to minister, to burn an offering made by fire to ForeverOne.

²¹So they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they not die: and it shall be a statute forever to them, even to him and to his descendants throughout their generations." ²²Moreover ForeverOne spoke to Moses, saying, ²³"Also take fine spices: of liquid myrrh, five hundred shekels; and of fragrant cinnamon half as much, even two hundred and fifty; and of fragrant cane, two hundred and fifty; ²⁴and of cassia five hundred, after the shekel of the sanctuary; and a hin of olive oil.

²⁵You shall make it a holy anointing oil, a perfume compounded after the art of the perfumer: it shall be a holy anointing oil.

²⁶You shall use it to anoint the Tent of Meeting, the ark of the testimony, ²⁷the table and all its articles, the lampstand and its accessories, the altar of incense, ²⁸the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils, and the basin with its base.

²⁹You shall sanctify them, that they may be most holy. Whatever touches them shall be holy.

³⁰You shall anoint Aaron and his sons, and sanctify them, that they may minister to me in the priest's office.

³¹You shall speak to the children of Israel, saying, 'This shall be a holy anointing oil to me throughout your generations.

³²It must not be poured on man's flesh, and you mustn't make any like it, according to its composition. It is holy. It shall be holy to you.

³³Whoever compounds any like it, or whoever puts any of it on a stranger, he shall be cut off from his people.'" ³⁴ForeverOne said to Moses, "Take to yourself sweet spices, gum resin, and onycha, and galbanum; sweet spices with pure frankincense: of each shall there be an equal weight; ³⁵and you shall make incense of it, a perfume after the art of the perfumer, seasoned with salt, pure and holy: ³⁶and you shall beat some of it very small, and put some of it before the testimony in the Tent of Meeting, where I will meet with you. It shall be to you most holy.

³⁷The incense which you make, you mustn't make for yourselves according to this composition: it will be holy to ForeverOne for you.

³⁸Whoever shall make any like that, to smell of it, he shall be cut off from his people."

2 Kings Chapter 4

¹Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets to Elisha, saying, "Your servant my husband is dead. You know that your servant feared ForeverOne. Now the creditor has come to take for himself my two children to be slaves." ²Elisha said to her, "What shall I do for you? Tell me: what do you have in the house?" She said, "Your handmaid has nothing in the house, except a pot of oil." ³Then he said, "Go, borrow containers from of all your neighbors, even empty containers. Don't borrow just a few.

⁴You shall go in, and shut the door on you and on your sons, and pour out into all those containers; and you shall set aside what is full." ⁵So she went from him, and shut the door on her and on her sons; they brought the containers to her, and she poured out.

⁶When the containers were full she said to her son, "Bring me another container." He said to her, "There isn't another container." The oil stopped flowing.

⁷Then she came and told the man of God. He said, "Go, sell the oil, and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest." ⁸It fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where there was a prominent woman; and she persuaded him to eat bread. So it was, that as often as he passed by, he turned in there to eat bread.

⁹She said to her husband, "See now, I perceive that this is a holy man of God, that passes by us continually.

¹⁰Please let's make a little room on the side. Let's set a bed, a table, a chair and a lamp stand for him there. When he comes to us, he can stay there." ¹¹One day he came there, and he turned into the room and lay there.

¹²He said to Gehazi his servant, "Call this Shunammite." When he had called her, she stood before him.

¹³He said to him, "Say now to her, 'Behold, you have cared for us with all this care. What is to be done for you? Would you like to be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the army?'" She answered, "I dwell among my own people." ¹⁴He said, "What then is to be done for her?" Gehazi answered, "Most certainly she has no son, and her husband is old." ¹⁵He said, "Call her." When he had called her, she stood in the door.

¹⁶He said, "At this season, when the time comes around, you will embrace a son." She said, "No, my lord, you man of God, do not lie to your handmaid." ¹⁷The woman conceived, and bore a son at that season, when the time came around, as Elisha had said to her.

¹⁸When the child was grown, one day he went out to his father to the reapers.

¹⁹He said to his father, "My head! My head!" He said to his servant, "Carry him to his mother." ²⁰When he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees until noon, and then died.

²¹She went up and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door on him, and went out.

²²She called to her husband, and said, "Please send me one of the servants, and one of the donkeys, that I may run to the man of God, and return." ²³He said, "Why would you want go to him today? It is neither new moon nor Sabbath." She said, "It's alright." ²⁴Then she saddled a donkey, and said to her servant, "Drive, and go forward! Don't slow down for me, unless I ask you to." ²⁵So she went, and came to the man of God to Mount Carmel. When the man of God saw her at a distance, he said to Gehazi his servant, "Behold, there is the Shunammite.

²⁶Please run now to meet her, and ask her, 'Is it well with you? Is it well with your husband? Is it well with the child?'" She answered, "It is well." ²⁷When she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught hold of his feet. Gehazi came near to thrust her away; but the man of God said, "Leave her alone; for her soul is troubled within her; and ForeverOne has hidden it from me, and has not told me." ²⁸Then she said, "Did I desire a son of my lord? Didn't I say, Do not deceive me?" ²⁹Then he said to Gehazi, "Tuck your cloak into your belt, take my staff in your hand, and go your way. If you meet any man, don't greet him; and if anyone greets you, don't answer him again. Then lay my staff on the face of the child." ³⁰The mother of the child said, "As ForeverOne lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you." He arose, and followed her.

³¹Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff on the face of the child; but there was neither voice, nor hearing. Therefore he returned to meet him, and told him, saying, "The child has not awakened."

Esther Chapter 3

¹⁰The king took his ring from his hand, and gave it to Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the Jews' enemy.

¹¹The king said to Haman, "The silver is given to you, the people also, to do with them as it seems good to you." ¹²Then the king's scribes were called in on the first month, on the thirteenth day of the month; and all that Haman commanded was written to the king's satraps, and to the governors who were over every province, and to the princes of every people, to every province according its writing, and to every people in their language. It was written in the name of King Ahasuerus, and it was sealed with the king's ring.

¹³Letters were sent by couriers into all the king's provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to plunder their possessions.

¹⁴A copy of the letter, that the decree should be given out in every province, was published to all the peoples, that they should be ready against that day.

¹⁵The couriers went out in haste by the king's commandment, and the decree was given out in the citadel of Susa. The king and Haman sat down to drink; but the city of Shushan was perplexed.

Esther Chapter 4

¹Now when Mordecai found out all that was done, Mordecai tore his clothes, and put on sackcloth with ashes, and went out into the midst of the city, and wailed loudly and a bitterly.

²He came even before the king's gate, for no one is allowed inside the king's gate clothed with sackcloth.

³In every province, wherever the king's commandment and his decree came, there was great mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and wailing; and many lay in sackcloth and ashes.

⁴Esther's maidens and her eunuchs came and told her this, and the queen was exceedingly grieved. She sent clothing to Mordecai, to replace his sackcloth; but he didn't receive it.

⁵Then Esther called for Hathach, one of the king's eunuchs, whom he had appointed to attend her, and commanded him to go to Mordecai, to find out what this was, and why it was.

⁶So Hathach went out to Mordecai, to city square which was before the king's gate.

⁷Mordecai told him of all that had happened to him, and the exact sum of the money that Haman had promised to pay to the king's treasuries for the destruction of the Jews.

⁸He also gave him the copy of the writing of the decree that was given out in Shushan to destroy them, to show it to Esther, and to declare it to her, and to urge her to go in to the king, to make supplication to him, and to make request before him, for her people.

⁹Hathach came and told Esther the words of Mordecai.

John Chapter 7

³²The Pharisees heard the multitude murmuring these things concerning him, and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers to arrest him.

³³Then Jesus said, "I will be with you a little while longer, then I go to him who sent me.

³⁴You will seek me yet won't find me. You can't come where I am." ³⁵So the Jews said among themselves, "Where will this man go that we won't find him? Will he go to the Dispersion among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks?

³⁶What is this word that he said, 'You will seek me yet won't find me'; and 'You can't come where I am.'?" ³⁷Now on the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink!

³⁸He who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, from within him will flow rivers of living water." ³⁹But he said this about the Spirit, which those believing in him were to receive. For the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus wasn't yet glorified.

⁴⁰Many of the multitude, when they heard these words, said, "This is truly the prophet." ⁴¹Others said, "This is the AnointedOne." But some said, "What, does the AnointedOne come out of Galilee?

⁴²Hasn't the Scripture said that the AnointedOne comes of the offspring of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was?" ⁴³So a division arose in the multitude because of him.

⁴⁴Some of them would have arrested him, but no one laid hands on him.

⁴⁵The officers therefore came to the chief priests and Pharisees, and they said to them, "Why didn't you bring him?" ⁴⁶The officers answered, "No man ever spoke like this man!" ⁴⁷So the Pharisees answered them, "You aren't also led astray, are you?

⁴⁸Have any of the rulers believed in him, or of the Pharisees?

⁴⁹But this multitude that doesn't know the law is cursed." ⁵⁰Nicodemus (he who came to him by night, being one of them) said to them, ⁵¹"Does our law judge a man, unless it first hears from him personally and knows what he does?" ⁵²They answered him, "Are you also from Galilee? Search, and see that no prophet has arisen out of Galilee." ⁵³[*Everyone went to his own house,]
