Genesis 33:1-17

Genesis Chapter 33

1Jacob lifted up his eyes, and looked, and, behold, Esau was coming, and with him four hundred men. He divided the children between Leah, Rachel, and the two handmaids.

2He put the handmaids and their children in front, Leah and her children next, and Rachel and Joseph at the rear.

3He himself passed over in front of them, and bowed himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother.

4Esau ran to meet him, embraced him, fell on his neck, kissed him, and they wept.

5He lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, "Who are these with you?" He said, "The children whom God has graciously given your servant." 6Then the handmaids came near with their children, and they bowed themselves.

7Leah also and her children came near, and bowed themselves. After them, Joseph came near with Rachel, and they bowed themselves.

8Esau said, "What do you mean by all this group which I met?" Jacob said, "To find favor in the sight of my lord." 9Esau said, "I have enough, my brother; let what you have be yours." 10Jacob said, "Please, no, if I have now found favor in your sight, then receive my gift at my hand, because I have seen your face, as one sees the face of God, and you were pleased with me.

11Please take the gift that I brought to you, because God has dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough." He urged him, and he took it.

12Esau said, "Let us take our journey, and let us go, and I will go before you." 13Jacob said to him, "My lord knows that the children are tender, and that the flocks and herds with me have their young, and if they overdrive them one day, all the flocks will die.

14Please let my lord pass over before his servant, and I will lead on gently, according to the pace of the livestock that are before me and according to the pace of the children, until I come to my lord to Seir." 15Esau said, "Let me now leave with you some of the folk who are with me." He said, "Why? Let me find favor in the sight of my lord." 16So Esau returned that day on his way to Seir.

17Jacob traveled to Succoth, built himself a house, and made shelters for his livestock. Therefore the name of the place is called Succoth.

1 Samuel 6:10-7:12

1 Samuel Chapter 6

10The men did so, and took two milk cows, and tied them to the cart, and shut up their calves at home; 11and they put the ark of ForeverOne on the cart, and the coffer with the mice of gold and the images of their tumors.

12The cows took the straight way by the way to Beth Shemesh; they went along the highway, lowing as they went, and didn't turn aside to the right hand or to the left; and the lords of the Philistines went after them to the border of Beth Shemesh.

13They of Beth Shemesh were reaping their wheat harvest in the valley; and they lifted up their eyes, and saw the ark, and rejoiced to see it.

14The cart came into the field of Joshua of Beth Shemesh, and stood there, where there was a great stone: and they split the wood of the cart, and offered up the cows for a burnt offering to ForeverOne.

15The Levites took down the ark of ForeverOne, and the coffer that was with it, in which the jewels of gold were, and put them on the great stone: and the men of Beth Shemesh offered burnt offerings and sacrificed sacrifices the same day to ForeverOne.

16When the five lords of the Philistines had seen it, they returned to Ekron the same day.

17These are the golden tumors which the Philistines returned for a trespass offering to ForeverOne: for Ashdod one, for Gaza one, for Ashkelon one, for Gath one, for Ekron one; 18and the golden mice, according to the number of all the cities of the Philistines belonging to the five lords, both of fortified cities and of country villages, even to the great stone, where they set down the ark of ForeverOne, [which stone remains] to this day in the field of Joshua of Beth Shemesh.

19He struck of the men of Beth Shemesh, because they had looked into the ark of ForeverOne, he struck of the people fifty thousand seventy men; and the people mourned, because ForeverOne had struck the people with a great slaughter.

20The men of Beth Shemesh said, "Who is able to stand before ForeverOne, this holy God? To whom shall he go up from us?" 21They sent messengers to the inhabitants of Kiriath Jearim, saying, "The Philistines have brought back the ark of ForeverOne; come down, and bring it up to yourselves."

1 Samuel Chapter 7

1The men of Kiriath Jearim came, and fetched up the ark of ForeverOne, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of ForeverOne.

2From the day that the ark stayed in Kiriath Jearim the time was long- for it was twenty years; and all the house of Israel lamented after ForeverOne.

3Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, "If you do return to ForeverOne with all your heart, and reject the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you, and direct your hearts to ForeverOne, and serve him only; and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines." 4Then the children of Israel rejected the Baals and the Ashtaroth, and served ForeverOne only.

5Samuel said, "Gather all Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray for you to ForeverOne." 6They gathered together to Mizpah, and drew water, and poured it out before ForeverOne, and fasted on that day, and said there, "We have sinned against ForeverOne." Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpah.

7When the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together at Mizpah, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. When the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines.

8The children of Israel said to Samuel, "Don't cease to cry to ForeverOne our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines." 9Samuel took a suckling lamb, and offered it for a whole burnt offering to ForeverOne: and Samuel cried to ForeverOne for Israel; and ForeverOne answered him.

10As Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel; but ForeverOne thundered with a great thunder on that day on the Philistines, and confused them; and they were struck down before Israel.

11The men of Israel went out of Mizpah, and pursued the Philistines, and struck them, until they came under Beth Kar.

12Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, "ForeverOne helped us until now."

Section 3

2 Chronicles 5:11-6:11

15 verses

2 Chronicles Chapter 5

11When the priests had come out of the holy place, (for all the priests who were present had sanctified themselves, and did not keep their divisions; 12also the Levites who were the singers, all of them, even Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and their brothers, arrayed in fine linen, with cymbals and stringed instruments and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them one hundred twenty priests sounding with trumpets;) 13when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking ForeverOne; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised ForeverOne, [saying], "For he is good; for his loving kindness endures forever!" then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of ForeverOne, 14so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of ForeverOne filled the house of God.

2 Chronicles Chapter 6

1Then Solomon said, "ForeverOne has said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

2But I have built you a house of habitation, and a place for you to dwell in forever." 3The king turned his face, and blessed all the assembly of Israel: and all the assembly of Israel stood.

4He said, "Blessed be ForeverOne, the God of Israel, who spoke with his mouth to David my father, and has with his hands fulfilled it, saying, 5'Since the day that I brought my people out of the land of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house in, that my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be prince over my people Israel: 6but I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.' 7Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of ForeverOne, the God of Israel.

8But ForeverOne said to David my father, 'Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well that it was in your heart: 9nevertheless you shall not build the house; but your son who shall come out of your body, he shall build the house for my name.' 10"ForeverOne has performed his word that he spoke; for I have risen up in the place of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as ForeverOne promised, and have built the house for the name of ForeverOne, the God of Israel.

11There I have set the ark, in which is the covenant of ForeverOne, which he made with the children of Israel."

Mark 5:6-30

Mark Chapter 5

6When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and bowed down to him, 7and crying out with a loud voice, he said, "What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, don't torment me." 8For he said to him, "Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!" 9He asked him, "What is your name?" He said to him, "My name is Legion, for we are many." 10He begged him much that he would not send them away out of the country.

11Now on the mountainside there was a great herd of pigs feeding.

12All the demons begged him, saying, "Send us into the pigs, that we may enter into them." 13At once Jesus gave them permission. The unclean spirits came out and entered into the pigs. The herd of about two thousand rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and they were drowned in the sea.

14Those who fed them fled, and told it in the city and in the country. The people came to see what it was that had happened.

15They came to Jesus, and saw him who had been possessed by demons sitting, clothed, and in his right mind, even him who had the legion; and they were afraid.

16Those who saw it declared to them what happened to him who was possessed by demons, and about the pigs.

17They began to beg him to depart from their region.

18As he was entering into the boat, he who had been possessed by demons begged him that he might be with him.

19He didn't allow him, but said to him, "Go to your house, to your friends, and tell them what great things ForeverOne has done for you, and how he had mercy on you." 20He went his way, and began to proclaim in Decapolis how Jesus had done great things for him, and everyone marveled.

21When Jesus had crossed back over in the boat to the other side, a great multitude was gathered to him; and he was by the sea.

22Behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name, came; and seeing him, fell at his feet, 23and begged him much, saying, "My little daughter is at the point of death. Please come and lay your hands on her, that she may be made healthy, and live." 24He went with him, and a great multitude followed him, and they pressed upon him on all sides.

25A certain woman, who had a discharge of blood for twelve years, 26and had suffered many things by many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better, but rather grew worse, 27having heard the things concerning Jesus, came up behind him in the crowd, and touched his clothes.

28For she said, "If I just touch his clothes, I will be made well." 29Immediately the flow of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction.

30Immediately Jesus, perceiving in himself that the power had gone out from him, turned around in the crowd, and asked, "Who touched my clothes?"
