Genesis Chapter 17

¹⁵God said to Abraham, "As for Sarai your wife, don't call her name Sarai, but name her Sarah.

¹⁶I will bless her, and moreover I will give you a son by her. Yes, I will bless her, and she will be a mother of nations. Kings of peoples will come from her." ¹⁷Then Abraham fell on his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, "Will a child be born to him who is one hundred years old? Will Sarah, who is ninety years old, give birth?" ¹⁸Abraham said to God, "Oh that Ishmael might live before you!" ¹⁹God said, "No, but Sarah, your wife, will bear you a son. You shall call his name Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his offspring after him.

²⁰As for Ishmael, I have heard you. Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly. He will become the father of twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation.

²¹But I will establish my covenant with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you at this set time next year." ²²When he finished talking with him, God went up from Abraham.

²³Abraham took Ishmael his son, all who were born in his house, and all who were bought with his money: every male among the men of Abraham's house, and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin on the same day, as God had said to him.

²⁴Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.

²⁵Ishmael, his son, was thirteen years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.

²⁶On the same day both Abraham and Ishmael, his son, were circumcised.

²⁷All the men of his house, those born in the house, and those bought with money from a foreigner, were circumcised with him.

Genesis Chapter 18

¹ForeverOne appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre, as he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day.

²He lifted up his eyes and looked, and saw that three men stood near him. When he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself to the earth, ³and said, "LordOfMine, if now I have found favor in your sight, please don't go away from your servant.

⁴Now let a little water be fetched, wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree.

⁵I will get a piece of bread so you can refresh your heart. After that you may go your way, now that you have come to your servant." They said, "Very well, do as you have said." ⁶Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah, and said, "Quickly prepare three seahs of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes." ⁷Abraham ran to the herd, and fetched a tender and good calf, and gave it to the servant. He hurried to dress it.

⁸He took butter, milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them. He stood by them under the tree, and they ate.

Joshua Chapter 23

¹After many days, when ForeverOne had given rest to Israel from their enemies all around, and Joshua was old and well advanced in years, ²Joshua called for all Israel, for their elders and for their heads, and for their judges and for their officers, and said to them, "I am old and well advanced in years.

³You have seen all that ForeverOne your God has done to all these nations because of you; for it is ForeverOne your God who has fought for you.

⁴Behold, I have allotted to you these nations that remain, to be an inheritance for your tribes, from the Jordan, with all the nations that I have cut off, even to the great sea toward the going down of the sun.

⁵ForeverOne your God will thrust them out from before you, and drive them from out of your sight. You shall possess their land, as ForeverOne your God spoke to you.

⁶"Therefore be very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that you not turn aside from it to the right hand or to the left; ⁷that you not come among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow down yourselves to them; ⁸but hold fast to ForeverOne your God, as you have done to this day.

⁹"For ForeverOne has driven great and strong nations out from before you. But as for you, no man has stood before you to this day.

¹⁰One man of you shall pursue a thousand; for it is ForeverOne your God who fights for you, as he spoke to you.

¹¹Take good heed therefore to yourselves, that you love ForeverOne your God.

¹²"But if you do at all go back, and hold fast to the remnant of these nations, even these who remain among you, and make marriages with them, and go in to them, and they to you; ¹³know for a certainty that ForeverOne your God will no longer drive these nations from out of your sight; but they shall be a snare and a trap to you, a scourge in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from off this good land which ForeverOne your God has given you.

¹⁴"Behold, today I am going the way of all the earth. You know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which ForeverOne your God spoke concerning you. All have happened to you. Not one thing has failed of it.

¹⁵As all the good things have come on you of which ForeverOne your God spoke to you, so ForeverOne will bring on you all the evil things, until he has destroyed you from off this good land which ForeverOne your God has given you, ¹⁶when you disobey the covenant of ForeverOne your God, which he commanded you, and go and serve other gods, and bow down yourselves to them. Then the anger of ForeverOne will be kindled against you, and you will perish quickly from off the good land which he has given to you."

Joshua Chapter 24

¹Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel to Shechem, and called for the elders of Israel, for their heads, for their judges, and for their officers; and they presented themselves before God.

²Joshua said to all the people, "Thus says ForeverOne, the God of Israel, 'Your fathers lived of old time beyond the River, even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nahor: and they served other gods.

³I took your father Abraham from beyond the River, and led him throughout all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his offspring, and gave him Isaac.

⁴I gave to Isaac Jacob and Esau: and I gave to Esau Mount Seir, to possess it. Jacob and his children went down into Egypt.

⁵"'I sent Moses and Aaron, and I plagued Egypt, according to what I did in its midst: and afterward I brought you out.

⁶I brought your fathers out of Egypt: and you came to the sea. The Egyptians pursued after your fathers with chariots and with horsemen to the Red Sea.

⁷When they cried out to ForeverOne, he put darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea on them, and covered them; and your eyes saw what I did in Egypt: and you lived in the wilderness many days.

⁸"'I brought you into the land of the Amorites, that lived beyond the Jordan: and they fought with you; and I gave them into your hand. You possessed their land; and I destroyed them from before you.

1 Chronicles Chapter 11

¹⁰Now these are the chief of the mighty men whom David had, who showed themselves strong with him in his kingdom, together with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of ForeverOne concerning Israel.

¹¹This is the number of the mighty men whom David had: Jashobeam, the son of a Hachmonite, the chief of the thirty; he lifted up his spear against three hundred and killed them at one time.

¹²After him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighty men.

¹³He was with David at Pasdammim, and there the Philistines were gathered together to battle, where there was a plot of ground full of barley; and the people fled from before the Philistines.

¹⁴They stood in the midst of the plot, and defended it, and killed the Philistines; and ForeverOne saved them by a great victory.

¹⁵Three of the thirty chief men went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam; and the army of the Philistines were encamped in the valley of Rephaim.

¹⁶David was then in the stronghold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem.

¹⁷David longed, and said, "Oh that one would give me water to drink of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!" ¹⁸The three broke through the army of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David; but David would not drink of it, but poured it out to ForeverOne, ¹⁹and said, "My God forbid it me, that I should do this! Shall I drink the blood of these men who have put their lives in jeopardy?" For they risked their lives to bring it. Therefore he would not drink it. The three mighty men did these things.

²⁰Abishai, the brother of Joab, he was chief of the three; for he lifted up his spear against three hundred and killed them, and had a name among the three.

²¹Of the three, he was more honorable than the two, and was made their captain; however he didn't attain to the [first] three.

²²Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done mighty deeds, he killed the two [sons of] Ariel of Moab; he went down also and killed a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow.

²³He killed an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits high; and in the Egyptian's hand was a spear like a weaver's beam; and he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and killed him with his own spear.

²⁴These things Benaiah the son of Jehoiada did, and had a name among the three mighty men.

²⁵Behold, he was more honorable than the thirty, but he didn't attain to the [first] three; and David set him over his guard.

Matthew Chapter 15

²¹Jesus went out from there and withdrew into the region of Tyre and Sidon.

²²Behold, a Canaanite woman came out from those borders and cried, saying, "Have mercy on me, Lord, you son of David! My daughter is severely demonized!" ²³But he answered her not a word. His disciples came and begged him, saying, "Send her away; for she cries after us." ²⁴But he answered, "I wasn't sent to anyone but the lost sheep of the house of Israel." ²⁵But she came and worshiped him, saying, "Lord, help me." ²⁶But he answered, "It is not appropriate to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs." ²⁷But she said, "Yes, Lord, but even the dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters' table." ²⁸Then Jesus answered her, "Woman, great is your faith! Be it done to you even as you desire." And her daughter was healed from that hour.

²⁹Jesus departed from there and came near to the sea of Galilee; and he went up into the mountain and sat there.

³⁰Great multitudes came to him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others, and they put them down at his feet. He healed them, ³¹so that the multitude wondered when they saw the mute speaking, the injured healed, the lame walking, and the blind seeing- and they glorified the God of Israel.

³²Jesus summoned his disciples and said, "I have compassion on the multitude, because they have continued with me now three days and have nothing to eat. I don't want to send them away fasting, or they might faint on the way." ³³The disciples said to him, "Where could we get so many loaves in a deserted place as to satisfy so great a multitude?" ³⁴Jesus said to them, "How many loaves do you have?" They said, "Seven, and a few small fish." ³⁵He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground; ³⁶and he took the seven loaves and the fish. He gave thanks and broke them, and gave to the disciples, and the disciples to the multitudes.

³⁷They all ate and were filled. They took up seven baskets full of the broken pieces that were left over.

³⁸Those who ate were four thousand men, in addition to women and children.

³⁹Then he sent away the multitudes, got into the boat, and came into the borders of Magdala.
