Deuteronomy 12:17-28

12 verses

Deuteronomy Chapter 12

17You may not eat within your gates the tithe of your grain, or of your new wine, or of your oil, or the firstborn of your herd or of your flock, nor any of your vows which you vow, nor your freewill offerings, nor the wave offering of your hand; 18but you shall eat them before ForeverOne your God in the place which ForeverOne your God shall choose, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your male servant, and your female servant, and the Levite who is within your gates: and you shall rejoice before ForeverOne your God in all that you put your hand to.

19Take heed to yourself that you don't forsake the Levite as long as you live in your land.

20When ForeverOne your God shall enlarge your border, as he has promised you, and you shall say, "I want to eat meat," because your soul desires to eat meat; you may eat meat, after all the desire of your soul.

21If the place which ForeverOne your God shall choose, to put his name there, is too far from you, then you shall kill of your herd and of your flock, which ForeverOne has given you, as I have commanded you; and you may eat within your gates, after all the desire of your soul.

22Even as the gazelle and as the hart is eaten, so you shall eat of it: the unclean and the clean may eat of it alike.

23Only be sure that you don't eat the blood: for the blood is the life; and you shall not eat the life with the flesh.

24You shall not eat it; you shall pour it out on the earth as water.

25You shall not eat it; that it may go well with you, and with your children after you, when you shall do what is right in the eyes of ForeverOne.

26Only your holy things which you have, and your vows, you shall take, and go to the place which ForeverOne shall choose: 27and you shall offer your burnt offerings, the flesh and the blood, on the altar of ForeverOne your God; and the blood of your sacrifices shall be poured out on the altar of ForeverOne your God; and you shall eat the flesh.

28Observe and hear all these words which I command you, that it may go well with you, and with your children after you forever, when you do what is good and right in the eyes of ForeverOne your God.

Hosea 2:14-4:11

26 verses

Hosea Chapter 2

14"Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak tenderly to her.

15I will give her vineyards from there, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope; and she will respond there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.

16It will be in that day," says ForeverOne, "that you will call me 'my husband,' and no longer call me 'my master.' 17For I will take away the names of the Baals out of her mouth, and they will no longer be mentioned by name.

18In that day I will make a covenant for them with the animals of the field, and with the birds of the sky, and with the creeping things of the ground. I will break the bow, the sword, and the battle out of the land, and will make them lie down safely.

19I will betroth you to me forever. Yes, I will betroth you to me in righteousness, in justice, in loving kindness, and in compassion.

20I will even betroth you to me in faithfulness; and you shall know ForeverOne.

21In that day, I will respond," says ForeverOne, "I will respond to the heavens, and they will respond to the earth; 22and the earth will respond to the grain, and the new wine, and the oil; and they will respond to Jezreel.

23I will sow her to me in the earth; and I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy; and I will tell those who were not my people, 'You are my people;' and they will say, 'My God!'"

Hosea Chapter 3

1ForeverOne said to me, "Go again, love a woman loved by another, and an adulteress, even as ForeverOne loves the children of Israel, though they turn to other gods, and love cakes of raisins." 2So I bought her for myself for fifteen pieces of silver and a homer and a half of barley.

3I said to her, "You shall stay with me many days. You shall not play the prostitute, and you shall not be with any other man. I will also be so toward you." 4For the children of Israel shall live many days without king, and without prince, and without sacrifice, and without sacred stone, and without ephod or idols.

5Afterward the children of Israel shall return, and seek ForeverOne their God, and David their king, and shall come with trembling to ForeverOne and to his blessings in the last days.

Hosea Chapter 4

1Hear the word of ForeverOne, you children of Israel; for ForeverOne has a charge against the inhabitants of the land: "Indeed there is no truth, nor goodness, nor knowledge of God in the land.

2There is cursing, lying, murder, stealing, and committing adultery; they break boundaries, and bloodshed causes bloodshed.

3Therefore the land will mourn, and everyone who dwells there will waste away. all living things in her, even the animals of the field and the birds of the sky; yes, the fish of the sea also die.

4"Yet let no man bring a charge, neither let any man accuse; For your people are like those who bring charges against a priest.

5You will stumble in the day, and the prophet will also stumble with you in the night; and I will destroy your mother.

6My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you may be no priest to me. Because you have forgotten your God's law, I will also forget your children.

7As they were multiplied, so they sinned against me. I will change their glory into shame.

8They feed on the sin of my people, and set their heart on their iniquity.

9It will be, like people, like priest; and I will punish them for their ways, and will repay them for their deeds.

10They will eat, and not have enough. They will play the prostitute, and will not increase; because they have abandoned giving to ForeverOne.

11Prostitution, wine, and new wine take away understanding.

Ecclesiastes 7:8-8:1

23 verses

Ecclesiastes Chapter 7

8Better is the end of a thing than its beginning. The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.

9Don't be hasty in your spirit to be angry, for anger rests in the bosom of fools.

10Don't say, "Why were the former days better than these?" For you do not ask wisely about this.

11Wisdom is as good as an inheritance. Yes, it is more excellent for those who see the sun.

12For wisdom is a defense, even as money is a defense; but the excellency of knowledge is that wisdom preserves the life of him who has it.

13Consider the work of God, for who can make that straight, which he has made crooked?

14In the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider; yes, God has made the one side by side with the other, to the end that man should not find out anything after him.

15All this have I seen in my days of vanity: there is a righteous man who perishes in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man who lives long in his evildoing.

16Don't be overly righteous, neither make yourself overly wise. Why should you destroy yourself?

17Don't be too wicked, neither be foolish. Why should you die before your time?

18It is good that you should take hold of this. Yes, also from that don't withdraw your hand; for he who fears God will come forth from them all.

19Wisdom is a strength to the wise man more than ten rulers who are in a city.

20Surely there is not a righteous man on earth, who does good and doesn't sin.

21Also don't take heed to all words that are spoken, lest you hear your servant curse you; 22for often your own heart knows that you yourself have likewise cursed others.

23All this have I proved in wisdom. I said, "I will be wise;" but it was far from me.

24What is, is far off and exceedingly deep. Who can find it out?

25I turned around, and my heart sought to know and to search out, and to seek wisdom and the scheme of things, and to know that wickedness is stupidity, and that foolishness is madness.

26I find more bitter than death the woman whose heart is snares and traps, whose hands are chains. Whoever pleases God shall escape from her; but the sinner will be ensnared by her.

27"Behold, I have found this," says the Preacher, "one to another, to find out the scheme; 28which my soul still seeks; but I have not found. One man among a thousand have I found; but I have not found a woman among all those.

29Behold, this only have I found: that God made man upright; but they search for many schemes."

Ecclesiastes Chapter 8

1Who is like the wise man? And who knows the interpretation of a thing? A man's wisdom makes his face shine, and the hardness of his face is changed.

James 5

James Chapter 5

1Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming on you.

2Your riches are corrupted and your garments are moth-eaten.

3Your gold and your silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be for a testimony against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up your treasure in the last days.

4Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you have kept back by fraud, cry out, and the cries of those who reaped have entered into the ears of ForeverOne of Armies.

5You have lived in luxury on the earth, and taken your pleasure. You have nourished your hearts as in a day of slaughter.

6You have condemned and murdered the righteous one. He doesn't resist you.

7So be patient brothers until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receives the early and late rain.

8You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

9Don't grumble, brothers, against one another, so that you won't be judged. Behold, the judge stands at the door.

10Take, brothers, for an example of suffering and of perseverance, the prophets who spoke in the name of ForeverOne.

11Behold, we call them blessed who endured. You have heard of the perseverance of Job, and have seen ForeverOne in the outcome, and how ForeverOne is full of compassion and mercy.

12But above all things, my brothers, don't swear- not by heaven, or by the earth, or by any other oath; but let your "yes" be "yes", and your "no", "no", so that you don't fall into hypocrisy.

13Is any among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sing praises.

14Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of ForeverOne, 15and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

16Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective.

17Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain, and it didn't rain on the earth for three years and six months.

18He prayed again, and the sky gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.

19Brothers, if any among you wanders from the truth and someone turns him back, 20let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.
