Exodus Chapter 29

¹⁹"You shall take the other ram; and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the ram.

²⁰Then you shall kill the ram, and take some of its blood, and put it on the tip of the right ear of Aaron, and on the tip of the right ear of his sons, and on the thumb of their right hand, and on the big toe of their right foot, and sprinkle the blood around on the altar.

²¹You shall take of the blood that is on the altar, and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it on Aaron, and on his garments, and on his sons, and on the garments of his sons with him: and he shall be made holy, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him.

²²Also you shall take some of the ram's fat, the fat tail, the fat that covers the innards, the cover of the liver, the two kidneys, the fat that is on them, and the right thigh (for it is a ram of consecration), ²³and one loaf of bread, one cake of oiled bread, and one wafer out of the basket of unleavened bread that is before ForeverOne.

²⁴You shall put all of this in Aaron's hands, and in his sons' hands, and shall wave them for a wave offering before ForeverOne.

²⁵You shall take them from their hands, and burn them on the altar on the burnt offering, for a pleasant aroma before ForeverOne: it is an offering made by fire to ForeverOne.

²⁶"You shall take the breast of Aaron's ram of consecration, and wave it for a wave offering before ForeverOne: and it shall be your portion.

²⁷You shall sanctify the breast of the wave offering, and the thigh of the wave offering, which is waved, and which is heaved up, of the ram of consecration, even of what is for Aaron, and of what is for his sons: ²⁸and it shall be for Aaron and his sons as their portion forever from the children of Israel; for it is a wave offering: and it shall be a wave offering from the children of Israel of the sacrifices of their peace offerings, even their wave offering to ForeverOne.

²⁹"The holy garments of Aaron shall be for his sons after him, to be anointed in them, and to be consecrated in them.

³⁰Seven days shall the son who is priest in his place put them on, when he comes into the Tent of Meeting to minister in the holy place.

³¹"You shall take the ram of consecration, and boil its flesh in a holy place.

³²Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram, and the bread that is in the basket, at the door of the Tent of Meeting.

³³They shall eat those things with which atonement was made, to consecrate and sanctify them: but a stranger shall not eat of it, because they are holy.

³⁴If anything of the flesh of the consecration, or of the bread, remains to the morning, then you shall burn the remainder with fire: it shall not be eaten, because it is holy.

2 Kings Chapter 1

¹Moab rebelled against Israel after the death of Ahab.

²Ahaziah fell down through the lattice in his upper room that was in Samaria, and was sick. So he sent messengers, and said to them, "Go, inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron, whether I will recover of this sickness." ³But the angel of ForeverOne said to Elijah the Tishbite, "Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and tell them, 'Is it because there is no God in Israel, that you go to inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron?

⁴Now therefore thus says ForeverOne, "You shall not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but shall surely die."'" Elijah departed.

⁵The messengers returned to him, and he said to them, "Why is it that you have returned?" ⁶They said to him, "A man came up to meet us, and said to us, 'Go, return to the king who sent you, and tell him, "Thus says ForeverOne, 'Is it because there is no God in Israel, that you send to inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you shall not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but shall surely die.'"'" ⁷He said to them, "What kind of man was he who came up to meet you, and told you these words?" ⁸They answered him, "He was a hairy man, and wearing a leather belt around his waist." He said, "It is Elijah the Tishbite." ⁹Then [the king] sent a captain of fifty with his fifty to him. He went up to him; and behold, he was sitting on the top of the hill. He said to him, "Man of God, the king has said, 'Come down!'" ¹⁰Elijah answered to the captain of fifty, "If I am a man of God, let fire come down from the sky, and consume you and your fifty!" Fire came down from the sky, and consumed him and his fifty.

¹¹Again he sent to him another captain of fifty and his fifty. He answered him, "Man of God, the king has said, 'Come down quickly!'" ¹²Elijah answered them, "If I am a man of God, let fire come down from the sky, and consume you and your fifty!" The fire of God came down from the sky, and consumed him and his fifty.

¹³Again he sent the captain of a third fifty with his fifty. The third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and begged him, and said to him, "Man of God, please let my life, and the life of these fifty your servants, be precious in your sight.

¹⁴Behold, fire came down from the sky, and consumed the two former captains of fifty with their fifties. But now let my life be precious in your sight." ¹⁵The angel of ForeverOne said to Elijah, "Go down with him. Don't be afraid of him." He arose, and went down with him to the king.

¹⁶He said to him, "Thus says ForeverOne, 'Because you have sent messengers to inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron, is it because there is no God in Israel to inquire of his word? Therefore you shall not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but shall surely die.'" ¹⁷So he died according to the word of ForeverOne which Elijah had spoken. Jehoram began to reign in his place in the second year of Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah; because he had no son.

¹⁸Now the rest of the acts of Ahaziah which he did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

2 Kings Chapter 2

¹When ForeverOne would take up Elijah by a whirlwind into heaven, Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.

²Elijah said to Elisha, "Please wait here, for ForeverOne has sent me as far as Bethel." Elisha said, "As ForeverOne lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you." So they went down to Bethel.

³The sons of the prophets who were at Bethel came out to Elisha, and said to him, "Do you know that ForeverOne will take away your master from your head today?" He said, "Yes, I know it; hold your peace."

Esther Chapter 1

¹⁶Memucan answered before the king and the princes, "Vashti the queen has not done wrong to just the king, but also to all the princes, and to all the people who are in all the provinces of the King Ahasuerus.

¹⁷For this deed of the queen will become known to all women, causing them to show contempt for their husbands, when it is reported, 'King Ahasuerus commanded Vashti the queen to be brought in before him, but she didn't come.' ¹⁸Today, the princesses of Persia and Media who have heard of the queen's deed will tell all the king's princes. This will cause much contempt and wrath.

¹⁹"If it please the king, let a royal commandment go from him, and let it be written among the laws of the Persians and the Medes, so that it cannot be altered, that Vashti may never again come before King Ahasuerus; and let the king give her royal estate to another who is better than she.

²⁰When the king's decree which he shall make is published throughout all his kingdom (for it is great), all the wives will give their husbands honor, both great and small." ²¹This advice pleased the king and the princes, and the king did according to the word of Memucan: ²²for he sent letters into all the king's provinces, into every province according to its writing, and to every people in their language, that every man should rule his own house, speaking in the language of his own people.

Esther Chapter 2

¹After these things, when the wrath of King Ahasuerus was pacified, he remembered Vashti, and what she had done, and what was decreed against her.

²Then the king's servants who served him said, "Let beautiful young virgins be sought for the king.

³Let the king appoint officers in all the provinces of his kingdom, that they may gather together all the beautiful young virgins to the citadel of Susa, to the women's house, to the custody of Hegai the king's eunuch, keeper of the women. Let cosmetics be given them; ⁴and let the maiden who pleases the king be queen instead of Vashti." The thing pleased the king, and he did so.

⁵There was a certain Jew in the citadel of Susa, whose name was Mordecai, the son of Jair, the son of Shimei, the son of Kish, a Benjamite, ⁶who had been carried away from Jerusalem with the captives who had been carried away with Jeconiah king of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away.

⁷He brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle's daughter; for she had neither father nor mother. The maiden was fair and beautiful; and when her father and mother were dead, Mordecai took her for his own daughter.

John Chapter 6

²⁵When they found him on the other side of the sea, they asked him, "Rabbi, when did you come here?" ²⁶Jesus answered them, "Most certainly I tell you, you seek me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves, and were filled.

²⁷Don't work for the food which perishes, but for the food which remains to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For God the Father has sealed him." ²⁸So they said to him, "What must we do, that we may do the work of God?" ²⁹Jesus answered them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent." ³⁰So they said to him, "What then do you do for a sign, that we may see and believe you? What work do you do?

³¹Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness. As it is written, 'He gave them bread out of heaven to eat.'" ³²Then Jesus said to them, "Most certainly, I tell you, it wasn't Moses who gave you the bread out of heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread out of heaven.

³³For the bread of God is what comes down out of heaven, and gives life to the world." ³⁴So they said to him, "Lord, always give us this bread." ³⁵Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will not be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

³⁶But I told you that you have seen me, and yet you don't believe.

³⁷All those whom the Father gives me will come to me. He who comes to me I will in no way throw out.

³⁸For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.

³⁹This is the will of my Father who sent me, that of all he has given to me I should lose nothing, but should raise him up at the last day.

⁴⁰This is the will of the one who sent me, that everyone who sees the Son, and believes in him, should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day." ⁴¹So the Jews murmured concerning him, because he said, "I am the bread which came down out of heaven." ⁴²They said, "Isn't this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? Then how does he say, 'I have come down out of heaven?'" ⁴³Therefore Jesus answered them, "Don't murmur among yourselves.

⁴⁴No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up in the last day.

⁴⁵It is written in the prophets, 'They will all be taught by God.' So everyone who hears from the Father and has learned, comes to me.

⁴⁶Not that anyone has seen the Father, except he who is from God. He has seen the Father.

⁴⁷Most certainly, I tell you, he who believes in me has eternal life.

⁴⁸I am the bread of life.

⁴⁹Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness and they died.

⁵⁰This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, that anyone may eat of it and not die.

⁵¹I am the living bread which came down out of heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. Yes, the bread which I will give for the life of the world is my flesh."
