Genesis Chapter 46

¹Israel traveled with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices to the God of his father, Isaac.

²God spoke to Israel in the visions of the night, and said, "Jacob, Jacob!" He said, "Here I am." ³He said, "I am God, the God of your father. Don't be afraid to go down into Egypt, for there I will make of you a great nation.

⁴I will go down with you into Egypt. I will also surely bring you up again. Joseph will close your eyes." ⁵Jacob rose up from Beersheba, and the sons of Israel carried Jacob, their father, their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.

⁶They took their livestock, and their goods, which they had obtained in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt - Jacob, and all his offspring with him, ⁷his sons, and his sons' sons with him, his daughters, and his sons' daughters, and he brought all his offspring with him into Egypt.

⁸These are the names of the children of Israel, who came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob's firstborn.

⁹The sons of Reuben were Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.

¹⁰The sons of Simeon were Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanite woman.

¹¹The sons of Levi were Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

¹²The sons of Judah were Er, Onan, Shelah, Perez, and Zerah; but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. The sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul.

¹³The sons of Issachar were Tola, Puvah, Iob, and Shimron.

¹⁴The sons of Zebulun were Sered, Elon, and Jahleel.

¹⁵These are the sons of Leah, whom she bore to Jacob in Paddan Aram, with his daughter Dinah. All the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty-three.

1 Samuel Chapter 29

⁶Then Achish called David, and said to him, "As ForeverOne lives, you have been upright, and your going out and your coming in with me in the army is good in my sight; for I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming to me to this day. Nevertheless, the lords don't favor you.

⁷Therefore now return, and go in peace, that you not displease the lords of the Philistines." ⁸David said to Achish, "But what have I done? What have you found in your servant so long as I have been before you to this day, that I may not go and fight against the enemies of my lord the king?" ⁹Achish answered David, "I know that you are good in my sight, as an angel of God. Notwithstanding the princes of the Philistines have said, 'He shall not go up with us to the battle.' ¹⁰Therefore now rise up early in the morning with the servants of your lord who have come with you; and as soon as you are up early in the morning, and have light, depart." ¹¹So David rose up early, he and his men, to depart in the morning, to return into the land of the Philistines. The Philistines went up to Jezreel.

1 Samuel Chapter 30

¹When David and his men had come to Ziklag on the third day, the Amalekites had made a raid on the South, and on Ziklag, and had struck Ziklag, and burned it with fire, ²and had taken captive the women and all who were there, both small and great. They didn't kill any, but carried them off, and went their way.

³When David and his men came to the city, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captive.

⁴Then David and the people who were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.

⁵David's two wives were taken captive, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite.

⁶David was greatly distressed; for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David strengthened himself in ForeverOne his God.

⁷David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, "Please bring me here the ephod." Abiathar brought the ephod to David.

⁸David inquired of ForeverOne, saying, "If I pursue after this troop, shall I overtake them?" He answered him, "Pursue; for you shall surely overtake them, and shall without fail recover all." ⁹So David went, he and the six hundred men who were with him, and came to the brook Besor, where those who were left behind stayed.

¹⁰But David pursued, he and four hundred men; for two hundred stayed behind, who were so faint that they couldn't go over the brook Besor.

¹¹They found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David, and gave him bread, and he ate; and they gave him water to drink.

¹²They gave him a piece of a cake of figs, and two clusters of raisins. when he had eaten, his spirit came again to him; for he had eaten no bread, nor drunk any water, three days and three nights.

¹³David asked him, "To whom do you belong? Where are you from?" He said, "I am a young man of Egypt, servant to an Amalekite; and my master left me, because three days ago I fell sick.

¹⁴We made a raid on the South of the Cherethites, and on what belongs to Judah, and on the South of Caleb; and we burned Ziklag with fire." ¹⁵David said to him, "Will you bring me down to this troop?" He said, "Swear to me by God that you will neither kill me, nor deliver me up into the hands of my master, and I will bring you down to this troop."

2 Chronicles Chapter 24

⁸So the king commanded, and they made a chest, and set it outside at the gate of the house of ForeverOne.

⁹They made a proclamation through Judah and Jerusalem, to bring in for ForeverOne the tax that Moses the servant of God laid on Israel in the wilderness.

¹⁰All the princes and all the people rejoiced, and brought in, and threw into the chest, until they had filled it.

¹¹Whenever the chest was brought to the king's officers by the hand of the Levites, and when they saw that there was much money, the king's scribe and the chief priest's officer came and emptied the chest, and took it, and carried it to its place again. Thus they did day by day, and gathered money in abundance.

¹²The king and Jehoiada gave it to those who did the work of the service of the house of ForeverOne; and they hired masons and carpenters to restore the house of ForeverOne, and also those who worked iron and brass to repair the house of ForeverOne.

¹³So the workmen worked, and the work of repairing went forward in their hands, and they set up the house of God in its state, and strengthened it.

¹⁴When they had made an end, they brought the rest of the money before the king and Jehoiada, of which were made vessels for the house of ForeverOne, even vessels with which to minister and to offer, and spoons, and vessels of gold and silver. They offered burnt offerings in the house of ForeverOne continually all the days of Jehoiada.

¹⁵But Jehoiada grew old and was full of days, and he died; he was one hundred thirty years old when he died.

¹⁶They buried him in the city of David among the kings, because he had done good in Israel, and toward God and his house.

¹⁷Now after the death of Jehoiada came the princes of Judah, and showed respect to the king. Then the king listened to them.

¹⁸They forsook the house of ForeverOne, the God of their fathers, and served the Asherim and the idols: and wrath came on Judah and Jerusalem for this their guiltiness.

¹⁹Yet he sent prophets to them, to bring them again to ForeverOne; and they testified against them: but they would not give ear.

²⁰The Spirit of God came on Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest; and he stood above the people, and said to them, "Thus says God, 'Why do you disobey the commandments of ForeverOne, so that you can't prosper? Because you have forsaken ForeverOne, he has also forsaken you.'" ²¹They conspired against him, and stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the house of ForeverOne.

²²Thus Joash the king didn't remember the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but killed his son. When he died, he said, "May ForeverOne look at it, and repay it."

Luke Chapter 1

²¹The people were waiting for Zacharias, and they marveled that he delayed in the temple.

²²When he came out, he could not speak to them. They perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple. He continued making signs to them, and remained mute.

²³When the days of his service were fulfilled, he departed to his house.

²⁴After these days Elizabeth his wife conceived, and she hid herself five months, saying, ²⁵"Thus has ForeverOne done to me in the days in which he looked at me, to take away my reproach among men." ²⁶Now in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, ²⁷to a virgin pledged to be married to a man whose name was Joseph, of David's house. The virgin's name was Mary.

²⁸Having come in, the angel said to her, "Rejoice, you highly favored one! ForeverOne is with you. Blessed are you among women!" ²⁹But when she saw him, she was greatly troubled at the saying, and considered what kind of salutation this might be.

³⁰The angel said to her, "Don't be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.

³¹Behold, you will conceive in your womb and give birth to a son, and shall name him 'Jesus.' ³²He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. ForeverOne God will give him the throne of his father David, ³³and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever. There will be no end to his Kingdom." ³⁴Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, seeing I am a virgin?" ³⁵The angel answered her, "The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and so the holy one to whom you give birth will be called the Son of God.

³⁶Behold, Elizabeth your relative also has conceived a son in her old age; and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren.

³⁷For nothing spoken by God is impossible." ³⁸Mary said, "Behold, the servant of ForeverOne; let it be done to me according to your word." Then the angel departed from her.

³⁹Mary arose in those days and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Judah, ⁴⁰and entered into the house of Zacharias and greeted Elizabeth.

⁴¹When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.

⁴²She called out with a loud voice and said, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!

⁴³Why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

⁴⁴For behold, when the voice of your greeting came into my ears, the baby leaped in my womb for joy!

⁴⁵Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of the things which have been spoken to her from ForeverOne!"
