Leviticus 5:1-13

13 verses

Leviticus Chapter 5

1"'If anyone sins, in that he hears the voice of adjuration, he being a witness, whether he has seen or known, if he doesn't report it, then he shall bear his iniquity.

2"'Or if anyone touches any unclean thing, whether it is the carcass of an unclean animal, or the carcass of unclean livestock, or the carcass of unclean creeping things, and it is hidden from him, and he is unclean, then he shall be guilty.

3"'Or if he touches the uncleanness of man, whatever his uncleanness is with which he is unclean, and it is hidden from him; when he knows of it, then he shall be guilty.

4"'Or if anyone swears rashly with his lips to do evil, or to do good, whatever it is that a man might utter rashly with an oath, and it is hidden from him; when he knows of it, then he shall be guilty of one of these.

5When he is guilty of one of these, he shall confess what he has sinned; 6and he shall bring his trespass offering to ForeverOne for his sin which he has sinned, a female from the flock, a lamb or a goat, for a sin offering; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin.

7"'If he can't afford a lamb, then he shall bring his trespass offering for that in which he has sinned, two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, to ForeverOne; one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering.

8He shall bring them to the priest, who shall first offer the one which is for the sin offering, and wring off its head from its neck, but shall not sever it completely.

9He shall sprinkle some of the blood of the sin offering on the side of the altar; and the rest of the blood shall be drained out at the base of the altar. It is a sin offering.

10He shall offer the second for a burnt offering, according to the ordinance; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin which he has sinned, and he shall be forgiven.

11"'But if he can't afford two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, then he shall bring his offering for that in which he has sinned, the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a sin offering. He shall put no oil on it, nor should he put any frankincense on it, for it is a sin offering.

12He shall bring it to the priest, and the priest shall take his handful of it as the memorial portion, and burn it on the altar, on the offerings of ForeverOne made by fire. It is a sin offering.

13The priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin that he has sinned in any of these things, and he will be forgiven; and the rest shall be the priest's, as the meal offering.'"

Isaiah 1

31 verses

Isaiah Chapter 1

1The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.

2Hear, heavens, and listen, earth; for ForeverOne has spoken: "I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.

3The ox knows his owner, and the donkey his master's crib; but Israel doesn't know, my people don't consider." 4Ah sinful nation, a people loaded with iniquity, offspring of evildoers, children who deal corruptly! They have forsaken ForeverOne. They have despised the Holy One of Israel. They are estranged and backward.

5Why should you be beaten more, that you revolt more and more? The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.

6From the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness in it: wounds, welts, and open sores. They haven't been closed, neither bandaged, neither soothed with oil.

7Your country is desolate. Your cities are burned with fire. Strangers devour your land in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.

8The daughter of Zion is left like a shelter in a vineyard, like a hut in a field of melons, like a besieged city.

9Unless ForeverOne of Armies had left to us a very small remnant, we would have been as Sodom; we would have been like Gomorrah.

10Hear the word of ForeverOne, you rulers of Sodom! Listen to the law of our God, you people of Gomorrah!

11"What are the multitude of your sacrifices to me?," says ForeverOne. "I have had enough of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed animals. I don't delight in the blood of bulls, or of lambs, or of male goats.

12When you come to appear before me, who has required this at your hand, to trample my courts?

13Bring no more vain offerings. Incense is an abomination to me; new moons, Sabbaths, and convocations: I can't bear with evil assemblies.

14My soul hates your New Moons and your appointed feasts. They are a burden to me. I am weary of bearing them.

15When you spread forth your hands, I will hide my eyes from you. Yes, when you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.

16Wash yourselves, make yourself clean. Put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes. Cease to do evil.

17Learn to do well. Seek justice. Relieve the oppressed. Judge the fatherless. Plead for the widow." 18"Come now, and let us reason together," says ForeverOne: "Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

19If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; 20but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured with the sword; for the mouth of ForeverOne has spoken it." 21How the faithful city has become a prostitute! She was full of justice; righteousness lodged in her, but now murderers.

22Your silver has become dross, your wine mixed with water.

23Your princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves. Everyone loves bribes, and follows after rewards. They don't judge the fatherless, neither does the cause of the widow come to them.

24Therefore the Lord, ForeverOne of Armies, the Mighty One of Israel, says: "Ah, I will get relief from my adversaries, and avenge myself of my enemies; 25and I will turn my hand on you, thoroughly purge away your dross, and will take away all your tin.

26I will restore your judges as at the first, and your counselors as at the beginning. Afterward you shall be called 'The city of righteousness, a faithful town.' 27Zion shall be redeemed with justice, and her converts with righteousness.

28But the destruction of transgressors and sinners shall be together, and those who forsake ForeverOne shall be consumed.

29For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which you have desired, and you shall be confounded for the gardens that you have chosen.

30For you shall be as an oak whose leaf fades, and as a garden that has no water.

31The strong will be like tinder, and his work like a spark. They will both burn together, and no one will quench them."

Section 3

Job 21:27-22:30

38 verses

Job Chapter 21

27"Behold, I know your thoughts, the devices with which you would wrong me.

28For you say, 'Where is the house of the prince? Where is the tent in which the wicked lived?' 29Haven't you asked wayfaring men? Don't you know their evidences, 30that the evil man is reserved to the day of calamity, that they are led out to the day of wrath?

31Who shall declare his way to his face? Who shall repay him what he has done?

32Yet he will be borne to the grave. Men shall keep watch over the tomb.

33The clods of the valley shall be sweet to him. All men shall draw after him, as there were innumerable before him.

34So how can you comfort me with nonsense, because in your answers there remains only falsehood?"

Job Chapter 22

1Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered, 2"Can a man be profitable to God? Surely he who is wise is profitable to himself.

3Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that you are righteous? Or does it benefit him, that you make your ways perfect?

4Is it for your piety that he reproves you, that he enters with you into judgment?

5Isn't your wickedness great? Neither is there any end to your iniquities.

6For you have taken pledges from your brother for nothing, and stripped the naked of their clothing.

7You haven't given water to the weary to drink, and you have withheld bread from the hungry.

8But as for the mighty man, he had the earth. The honorable man, he lived in it.

9You have sent widows away empty-handed, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.

10Therefore snares are around you. Sudden fear troubles you, 11or darkness, so that you can not see, and floods of waters cover you.

12"Isn't God in the heights of heaven? See the height of the stars, how high they are!

13You say, 'What does God know? Can he judge through the thick darkness?

14Thick clouds are a covering to him, so that he doesn't see. He walks on the vault of the sky.' 15Will you keep the old way, which wicked men have trodden, 16who were snatched away before their time, whose foundation was poured out as a stream, 17who said to God, 'Depart from us;' and, 'What can the Almighty do for us?' 18Yet he filled their houses with good things, but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.

19The righteous see it, and are glad. The innocent ridicule them, 20saying, 'Surely those who rose up against us are cut off. The fire has consumed the remnant of them.' 21"Acquaint yourself with him, now, and be at peace. Thereby good shall come to you.

22Please receive instruction from his mouth, and lay up his words in your heart.

23If you return to the Almighty, you shall be built up, if you put away unrighteousness far from your tents.

24Lay your treasure in the dust, the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks.

25The Almighty will be your treasure, and precious silver to you.

26For then you will delight yourself in the Almighty, and shall lift up your face to God.

27You shall make your prayer to him, and he will hear you. You shall pay your vows.

28You shall also decree a thing, and it shall be established to you. Light shall shine on your ways.

29When they are down, you shall say, 'be lifted up.' He will save the humble person.

30He will even deliver him who is not innocent. Yes, he shall be delivered through the cleanness of your hands."

Section 4

Acts 2:14-36

23 verses

Acts Chapter 2

14But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice and spoke out to them, "You men of Judea, and all you who dwell at Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to my words.

15For these aren't drunken, as you suppose, seeing it is only the third hour of the day.

16But this is what has been spoken through the prophet Joel: 17'It will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream dreams.

18Yes, and on my servants and on my handmaidens in those days, I will pour out my Spirit, and they will prophesy.

19I will show wonders in the sky above, and signs on the earth beneath: blood, and fire, and billows of smoke.

20The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and glorious day of ForeverOne comes.

21It will be that whoever will call on the name of ForeverOne will be saved.' 22"Men of Israel, hear these words! Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved by God to you by mighty acts and wonders and signs which God did by him among you, even as you yourselves know, 23him, being delivered up by the determined counsel and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by the hand of lawless men, crucified and killed; 24whom God raised up, having freed him from the agony of death, because it was not possible that he should be held by it.

25For David says concerning him, 'I saw ForeverOne always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved.

26Therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced. Moreover my flesh also will dwell in hope; 27because you will not leave my soul in Hades, neither will you allow your Holy One to see decay.

28You made known to me the ways of life. You will make me full of gladness with your presence.' 29"Brothers, I may tell you freely of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.

30So, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, he would raise up the AnointedOne to sit on his throne, 31he foreseeing this spoke about the resurrection of the AnointedOne, that neither was his soul left in Hades, nor did his flesh see decay.

32This Jesus God raised up, to which we all are witnesses.

33So, being exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this, which you now see and hear.

34For David didn't ascend into the heavens, but he says himself, 'ForeverOne said to my Lord, "Sit by my right hand 35until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet."' 36"So Let all the house of Israel know certainly that God has made him both Lord and AnointedOne, this Jesus whom you crucified."
