Genesis Chapter 45

⁸So now it wasn't you who sent me here, but God, and he has made me a father to Pharaoh, lord of all his house, and ruler over all the land of Egypt.

⁹Hurry, and go up to my father, and tell him, 'This is what your son Joseph says, "God has made me lord of all Egypt. Come down to me. Don't wait.

¹⁰You shall dwell in the land of Goshen, and you will be near to me, you, your children, your children's children, your flocks, your herds, and all that you have.

¹¹There I will nourish you; for there are yet five years of famine; lest you come to poverty, you, and your household, and all that you have."' ¹²Behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin, that it is my mouth that speaks to you.

¹³You shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt, and of all that you have seen. You shall hurry and bring my father down here." ¹⁴He fell on his brother Benjamin's neck, and wept, and Benjamin wept on his neck.

¹⁵He kissed all his brothers, and wept on them. After that his brothers talked with him.

¹⁶The report of it was heard in Pharaoh's house, saying, "Joseph's brothers have come." It pleased Pharaoh well, and his servants.

¹⁷Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Tell your brothers, 'Do this. Load your animals, and go, travel to the land of Canaan.

¹⁸Take your father and your households, and come to me, and I will give you the good of the land of Egypt, and you will eat the fat of the land.' ¹⁹Now you are commanded: do this. Take wagons out of the land of Egypt for your little ones, and for your wives, and bring your father, and come.

²⁰Also, don't concern yourselves about your belongings, for the good of all of the land of Egypt is yours." ²¹The sons of Israel did so. Joseph gave them wagons, according to the commandment of Pharaoh, and gave them provision for the way.

²²He gave each one of them changes of clothing, but to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver and five changes of clothing.

²³He sent the following to his father: ten donkeys loaded with the good things of Egypt, and ten female donkeys loaded with grain and bread and provision for his father on the way.

²⁴So he sent his brothers away, and they departed. He said to them, "See that you don't quarrel on the way." ²⁵They went up out of Egypt, and came into the land of Canaan, to Jacob their father.

²⁶They told him, saying, "Joseph is still alive, and he is ruler over all the land of Egypt." His heart fainted, for he didn't believe them.

²⁷They told him all the words of Joseph, which he had said to them. When he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob, their father, revived.

²⁸Israel said, "It is enough. Joseph my son is still alive. I will go and see him before I die."

1 Samuel Chapter 28

⁷Then Saul said to his servants, "Seek me a woman who has a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and inquire of her." His servants said to him, "Behold, there is a woman who has a familiar spirit at Endor." ⁸Saul disguised himself, and put on other clothing, and went, he and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, "Please divine to me by the familiar spirit, and bring me up whoever I shall name to you." ⁹The woman said to him, "Behold, you know what Saul has done, how he has cut off those who have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land. Then why do you lay a snare for my life, to cause me to die?" ¹⁰Saul swore to her by ForeverOne, saying, "As ForeverOne lives, no punishment shall happen to you for this thing." ¹¹Then the woman said, "Whom shall I bring up to you?" He said, "Bring Samuel up for me." ¹²When the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice; and the woman spoke to Saul, saying, "Why have you deceived me? For you are Saul!" ¹³The king said to her, "Don't be afraid. For what do you see?" The woman said to Saul, "I see a god coming up out of the earth." ¹⁴He said to her, "What does he look like?" She said, "An old man comes up. He is covered with a robe." Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he bowed with his face to the ground, and showed respect.

¹⁵Samuel said to Saul, "Why have you disturbed me, to bring me up?" Saul answered, "I am very distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God has departed from me, and answers me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams. Therefore I have called you, that you may make known to me what I shall do." ¹⁶Samuel said, "Then why do you ask of me, since ForeverOne has departed from you and has become your adversary?

¹⁷ForeverOne has done to you as he spoke by me. ForeverOne has torn the kingdom out of your hand, and given it to your neighbor, even to David.

¹⁸Because you didn't obey the voice of ForeverOne, and didn't execute his fierce wrath on Amalek, therefore ForeverOne has done this thing to you today.

¹⁹Moreover ForeverOne will deliver Israel also with you into the hand of the Philistines; and tomorrow you and your sons will be with me. ForeverOne will deliver the army of Israel also into the hand of the Philistines." ²⁰Then Saul fell immediately his full length on the earth, and was terrified, because of the words of Samuel. There was no strength in him; for he had eaten no bread all the day, nor all the night.

²¹The woman came to Saul, and saw that he was very troubled, and said to him, "Behold, your handmaid has listened to your voice, and I have put my life in my hand, and have listened to your words which you spoke to me.

²²Now therefore, please listen also to the voice of your handmaid, and let me set a morsel of bread before you; and eat, that you may have strength, when you go on your way." ²³But he refused, and said, I will not eat. But his servants, together with the woman, constrained him; and he listened to their voice. So he arose from the earth, and sat on the bed.

²⁴The woman had a fattened calf in the house. She hurried and killed it; and she took flour, and kneaded it, and baked unleavened bread of it.

²⁵She brought it before Saul, and before his servants; and they ate. Then they rose up, and went away that night.

1 Samuel Chapter 29

¹Now the Philistines gathered together all their armies to Aphek: and the Israelites encamped by the spring which is in Jezreel.

²The lords of the Philistines passed on by hundreds, and by thousands; and David and his men passed on in the rear with Achish.

³Then the princes of the Philistines said, "What about these Hebrews?" Achish said to the princes of the Philistines, "Isn't this David, the servant of Saul the king of Israel, who has been with me these days, or rather these years, and I have found no fault in him since he fell away to this day?" ⁴But the princes of the Philistines were angry with him; and the princes of the Philistines said to him, "Make the man return, that he may go back to his place where you have appointed him, and let him not go down with us to battle, lest in the battle he become an adversary to us. For with what should this fellow reconcile himself to his lord? Should it not be with the heads of these men?

⁵Is not this David, of whom they sang one to another in dances, saying, 'Saul has slain his thousands, David his ten thousands?'"

2 Chronicles Chapter 23

¹²When Athaliah heard the noise of the people running and praising the king, she came to the people into the house of ForeverOne: ¹³and she looked, and, behold, the king stood by his pillar at the entrance, and the captains and the trumpets by the king; and all the people of the land rejoiced, and blew trumpets; the singers also played musical instruments, and led the singing of praise. Then Athaliah tore her clothes, and said, "Treason! treason!" ¹⁴Jehoiada the priest brought out the captains of hundreds who were set over the army, and said to them, "Bring her out between the ranks; and whoever follows her, let him be slain with the sword." For the priest said, "Don't kill her in ForeverOne's house." ¹⁵So they made way for her. She went to the entrance of the horse gate to the king's house; and they killed her there.

¹⁶Jehoiada made a covenant between himself, and all the people, and the king, that they should be ForeverOne's people.

¹⁷All the people went to the house of Baal, and broke it down, and broke his altars and his images in pieces, and killed Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars.

¹⁸Jehoiada appointed the officers of the house of ForeverOne under the hand of the priests the Levites, whom David had distributed in the house of ForeverOne, to offer the burnt offerings of ForeverOne, as it is written in the law of Moses, with rejoicing and with singing, according to the order of David.

¹⁹He set the porters at the gates of the house of ForeverOne, that no one who was unclean in anything should enter in.

²⁰He took the captains of hundreds, and the nobles, and the governors of the people, and all the people of the land, and brought down the king from the house of ForeverOne: and they came through the upper gate to the king's house, and set the king on the throne of the kingdom.

²¹So all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet. Athaliah they had slain with the sword.

2 Chronicles Chapter 24

¹Joash was seven years old when he began to reign; and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Zibiah, of Beersheba.

²Joash did what was right in the eyes of ForeverOne all the days of Jehoiada the priest.

³Jehoiada took for him two wives; and he became the father of sons and daughters.

⁴After this, Joash was minded to restore the house of ForeverOne.

⁵He gathered together the priests and the Levites, and said to them, "Go out to the cities of Judah, and gather money to repair the house of your God from all Israel from year to year. See that you expedite this matter." However the Levites didn't do it right away.

⁶The king called for Jehoiada the chief, and said to him, "Why haven't you required of the Levites to bring in the tax of Moses the servant of ForeverOne, and of the assembly of Israel, out of Judah and out of Jerusalem, for the tent of the testimony?" ⁷For the sons of Athaliah, that wicked woman, had broken up the house of God; and also all the dedicated things of the house of ForeverOne they bestowed on the Baals.

Luke Chapter 1

¹Since many have undertaken to set in order a narrative concerning those matters which have been fulfilled among us, ²even as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and servants of the word delivered them to us, ³it seemed good to me also, having traced the course of all things accurately from the first, to write to you in order, most excellent Theophilus; ⁴that you might know the certainty concerning the things in which you were instructed.

⁵There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the priestly division of Abijah. He had a wife of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.

⁶They were both righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and ordinances of ForeverOne.

⁷But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they both were well advanced in years.

⁸Now while he executed the priest's office before God in the order of his division ⁹according to the custom of the priest's office, his lot was to enter into the temple of ForeverOne and burn incense.

¹⁰The whole multitude of the people were praying outside at the hour of incense.

¹¹An angel of ForeverOne appeared to him, standing on the right side of the altar of incense.

¹²Zacharias was troubled when he saw him, and fear fell upon him.

¹³But the angel said to him, "Don't be afraid, Zacharias, because your request has been heard. Your wife, Elizabeth, will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John.

¹⁴You will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth.

¹⁵For he will be great in the sight of ForeverOne, and he will drink no wine nor strong drink. He will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb.

¹⁶He will turn many of the children of Israel to ForeverOne their God.

¹⁷He will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, 'to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,' and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to prepare a people prepared for ForeverOne." ¹⁸Zacharias said to the angel, "How can I be sure of this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years." ¹⁹The angel answered him, "I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God. I was sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news.

²⁰Behold, you will be silent and not able to speak until the day that these things will happen, because you didn't believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their proper time."
