Numbers Chapter 17

¹ForeverOne spoke to Moses, saying, ²"Speak to the children of Israel, and take of them rods, one for each fathers' house, of all their princes according to their fathers' houses, twelve rods: write every man's name on his rod.

³You shall write Aaron's name on the rod of Levi; for there shall be one rod for each head of their fathers' houses.

⁴You shall lay them up in the Tent of Meeting before the testimony, where I meet with you.

⁵The rod of the man whom I shall choose shall bud: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against you." ⁶Moses spoke to the children of Israel; and all their princes gave him rods, for each prince one, according to their fathers' houses, even twelve rods: and the rod of Aaron was among their rods.

⁷Moses laid up the rods before ForeverOne in the tent of the testimony.

⁸The next day, Moses went into the tent of the testimony; and behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and put out buds, and produced blossoms, and bore ripe almonds.

⁹Moses brought out all the rods from before ForeverOne to all the children of Israel: and they looked, and took every man his rod.

¹⁰ForeverOne said to Moses, "Put back the rod of Aaron before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the children of rebellion; that you may make an end of their murmurings against me, that they not die." ¹¹Moses did so. As ForeverOne commanded him, so he did.

¹²The children of Israel spoke to Moses, saying, "Behold, we perish! We are undone! We are all undone!

¹³Everyone who comes near, who comes near to the tabernacle of ForeverOne, dies! Will we all perish?"

Jeremiah Chapter 42

⁷After ten days the word of ForeverOne came to Jeremiah.

⁸Then he called Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were with him, and all the people from the least even to the greatest, ⁹and said to them, Thus says ForeverOne, the God of Israel, to whom you sent me to present your supplication before him: ¹⁰If you will still live in this land, then will I build you, and not pull you down, and I will plant you, and not pluck you up; for I grieve over the distress that I have brought on you.

¹¹Don't be afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom you are afraid; don't be afraid of him, says ForeverOne: for I am with you to save you, and to deliver you from his hand.

¹²I will grant you mercy, that he may have mercy on you, and cause you to return to your own land.

¹³But if you say, We will not dwell in this land; so that you don't obey the voice of ForeverOne your God, ¹⁴saying, No; but we will go into the land of Egypt, where we shall see no war, nor hear the sound of the trumpet, nor have hunger of bread; and there will we dwell: ¹⁵now therefore hear the word of ForeverOne, O remnant of Judah: Thus says ForeverOne of Armies, the God of Israel, If you indeed set your faces to enter into Egypt, and go to live there; ¹⁶then the sword, which you fear, shall overtake you there in the land of Egypt; and the famine, about which you are afraid, shall follow close behind you there in Egypt; and there you shall die.

¹⁷So shall it be with all the men who set their faces to go into Egypt to live there: they shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence; and none of them shall remain or escape from the evil that I will bring on them.

¹⁸For thus says ForeverOne of Armies, the God of Israel: As my anger and my wrath has been poured forth on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so shall my wrath be poured forth on you, when you shall enter into Egypt; and you shall be an object of horror, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach; and you shall see this place no more.

¹⁹ForeverOne has spoken concerning you, remnant of Judah, Don't you go into Egypt: know certainly that I have testified to you today.

²⁰For you have dealt deceitfully against your own souls; for you sent me to ForeverOne your God, saying, Pray for us to ForeverOne our God; and according to all that ForeverOne our God shall say, so declare to us, and we will do it: ²¹and I have today declared it to you; but you have not obeyed the voice of ForeverOne your God in anything for which he has sent me to you.

²²Now therefore know certainly that you shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, in the place where you desire to go to live there.

Jeremiah Chapter 43

¹When Jeremiah had finished speaking to all the people all the words of ForeverOne their God, with which ForeverOne their God had sent him to them, even all these words, ²then spoke Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying to Jeremiah, You speak falsely: ForeverOne our God has not sent you to say, You shall not go into Egypt to live there; ³but Baruch the son of Neriah sets you on against us, to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldeans, that they may put us to death, and carry us away captive to Babylon.

⁴So Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, didn't obey the voice of ForeverOne, to dwell in the land of Judah.

⁵But Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, took all the remnant of Judah, who were returned from all the nations where they had been driven, to live in the land of Judah; ⁶the men, and the women, and the children, and the king's daughters, and every person who Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had left with Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan; and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch the son of Neriah; ⁷and they came into the land of Egypt; for they didn't obey the voice of ForeverOne: and they came to Tahpanhes.

⁸Then came the word of ForeverOne to Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying, ⁹Take great stones in your hand, and hide them in mortar in the brick work, which is at the entry of Pharaoh's house in Tahpanhes, in the sight of the men of Judah; ¹⁰and tell them, Thus says ForeverOne of Armies, the God of Israel: Behold, I will send and take Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will set his throne on these stones that I have hidden; and he shall spread his royal pavilion over them.

¹¹He shall come, and shall strike the land of Egypt; those who are for death [shall be given] to death, and those who are for captivity to captivity, and those who are for the sword to the sword.

¹²I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them, and carry them away captive: and he shall array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd puts on his garment; and he shall go forth from there in peace.

¹³He shall also break the pillars of Beth Shemesh, that is in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of Egypt he shall burn with fire.

Psalm 107

[BOOK V] ¹Give thanks to ForeverOne, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.

²Let the redeemed by ForeverOne say so, whom he has redeemed from the hand of the adversary, ³And gathered out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.

⁴They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way. They found no city to live in.

⁵Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.

⁶Then they cried to ForeverOne in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses, ⁷he led them also by a straight way, that they might go to a city to live in.

⁸Let them praise ForeverOne for his loving kindness, for his wonderful works to the children of men!

⁹For he satisfies the longing soul. He fills the hungry soul with good.

¹⁰Some sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron, ¹¹because they rebelled against the words of God, and condemned the counsel of the Most High.

¹²Therefore he brought down their heart with labor. They fell down, and there was none to help.

¹³Then they cried to ForeverOne in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.

¹⁴He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bonds in sunder.

¹⁵Let them praise ForeverOne for his loving kindness, for his wonderful works to the children of men!

¹⁶For he has broken the gates of brass, and cut through bars of iron.

¹⁷Fools are afflicted because of their disobedience, and because of their iniquities.

¹⁸Their soul abhors all kinds of food. They draw near to the gates of death.

¹⁹Then they cry to ForeverOne in their trouble, he saves them out of their distresses.

²⁰He sends his word, and heals them, and delivers them from their graves.

²¹Let them praise ForeverOne for his loving kindness, for his wonderful works to the children of men!

²²Let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with singing.

²³Those who go down to the sea in ships, who do business in great waters; ²⁴These see ForeverOne's works, and his wonders in the deep.

²⁵For he commands, and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up its waves.

²⁶They mount up to the sky; they go down again to the depths. Their soul melts away because of trouble.

²⁷They reel back and forth, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits' end.

²⁸Then they cry to ForeverOne in their trouble, and he brings them out of their distress.

²⁹He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still.

³⁰Then they are glad because it is calm, so he brings them to their desired haven.

³¹Let them praise ForeverOne for his loving kindness, for his wonderful works for the children of men!

³²Let them exalt him also in the assembly of the people, and praise him in the seat of the elders.

³³He turns rivers into a desert, water springs into a thirsty ground, ³⁴and a fruitful land into a salt waste, for the wickedness of those who dwell in it.

³⁵He turns a desert into a pool of water, and a dry land into water springs.

³⁶There he makes the hungry live, that they may prepare a city to live in, ³⁷sow fields, plant vineyards, and reap the fruits of increase.

³⁸He blesses them also, so that they are multiplied greatly. He doesn't allow their livestock to decrease.

³⁹Again, they are diminished and bowed down through oppression, trouble, and sorrow.

⁴⁰He pours contempt on princes, and causes them to wander in a trackless waste.

⁴¹Yet he lifts the needy out of their affliction, and increases their families like a flock.

⁴²The upright will see it, and be glad. All the wicked will shut their mouths.

⁴³Whoever is wise will pay attention to these things. They will consider the loving kindnesses of ForeverOne.

2 Corinthians Chapter 5

¹¹So, knowing the fear of ForeverOne, we persuade men, but we are revealed to God, and I hope that we are revealed also in your consciences.

¹²For we are not commending ourselves to you again, but speak as giving you occasion of boasting on our behalf, that you may have something to answer those who boast in appearance, and not in heart.

¹³For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God. Or if we are of sober mind, it is for you.

¹⁴For the love of the AnointedOne constrains us; because we judge thus, that one died for all, therefore all died.

¹⁵He died for all, that those who live should no longer live to themselves, but to him who for their sakes died and rose again.

¹⁶So from now on we know no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known the AnointedOne according to the flesh, now we no longer know him in that way.

¹⁷So if anyone is in the AnointedOne, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.

¹⁸But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Jesus AnointedOne, and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation; ¹⁹namely, that God was in the AnointedOne reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation.

²⁰So we are ambassadors on behalf of the AnointedOne, as though God were entreating by us: we beg you on behalf of the AnointedOne, be reconciled to God.

²¹For him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf; so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

2 Corinthians Chapter 6

¹Working together, we urge you also not to receive the grace of God in vain, ²for he says, "At an acceptable time I listened to you, in a day of salvation I helped you." Behold, now is the acceptable time. Behold, now is the day of salvation.

³We give no occasion of stumbling in anything, that our service may not be blamed, ⁴but in everything commending ourselves, as servants of God, in great endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distresses, ⁵in beatings, in imprisonments, in riots, in labors, in watchings, in fastings; ⁶in pureness, in knowledge, in perseverance, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in sincere love, ⁷in the word of truth, in the power of God; by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, ⁸by glory and dishonor, by evil report and good report; as deceivers, and yet true; ⁹as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as punished, and not killed; ¹⁰as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

¹¹Our mouth is open to you, Corinthians. Our heart is enlarged.

¹²You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted by your own affections.

¹³Now in return, I speak as to my children: you also widen your hearts.
