Numbers Chapter 16

¹⁸They each took their censer, and put fire in them, and laid incense on it, and stood at the door of the Tent of Meeting with Moses and Aaron.

¹⁹Korah assembled all the congregation against them to the door of the Tent of Meeting: and the glory of ForeverOne appeared to all the congregation.

²⁰ForeverOne spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, ²¹"Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment!" ²²They fell on their faces, and said, "God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and will you be angry with all the congregation?" ²³ForeverOne spoke to Moses, saying, ²⁴"Speak to the congregation, saying, 'Get away from around the tent of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram!'" ²⁵Moses rose up and went to Dathan and Abiram; and the elders of Israel followed him.

²⁶He spoke to the congregation, saying, "Depart, please, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest you be consumed in all their sins!" ²⁷So they went away from the tent of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side: and Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood at the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little ones.

²⁸Moses said, "Hereby you shall know that ForeverOne has sent me to do all these works; for [I have] not [done them] of my own mind.

²⁹If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men; then ForeverOne hasn't sent me.

³⁰But if ForeverOne make a new thing, and the ground open its mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain to them, and they go down alive into Sheol; then you shall understand that these men have despised ForeverOne." ³¹As he finished speaking all these words, the ground under them split apart.

³²The earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and all the men who appertained to Korah, and all their goods.

³³So they, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into Sheol: and the earth closed on them, and they perished from among the assembly.

³⁴All Israel that were around them fled at the cry of them; for they said, "Lest the earth swallow us up!" ³⁵Fire came out from ForeverOne, and devoured the two hundred fifty men who offered the incense.

Jeremiah Chapter 40

¹The word which came to Jeremiah from ForeverOne, after that Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him being bound in chains among all the captives of Jerusalem and Judah, who were carried away captive to Babylon.

²The captain of the guard took Jeremiah, and said to him, ForeverOne your God pronounced this evil on this place; ³and ForeverOne has brought it, and done according as he spoke: because you have sinned against ForeverOne, and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing has come on you.

⁴Now, behold, I release you today from the chains which are on your hand. If it seems good to you to come with me into Babylon, come, and I will take care of you; but if it seems bad to you to come with me into Babylon, don't: behold, all the land is before you; where it seems good and right to you to go, there go.

⁵Now while he was not yet gone back, Go back then, [he said], to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people; or go wherever it seems right to you to go. So the captain of the guard gave him food and a gift, and let him go.

⁶Then went Jeremiah to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah, and lived with him among the people who were left in the land.

⁷Now when all the captains of the forces who were in the fields, even they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam governor in the land, and had committed to him men, and women, and children, and of the poorest of the land, of those who were not carried away captive to Babylon; ⁸then they came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, [to wit], Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan and Jonathan the sons of Kareah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah the son of the Maacathite, they and their men.

⁹Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan swore to them and to their men, saying, Don't be afraid to serve the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.

¹⁰As for me, behold, I will dwell at Mizpah, to stand before the Chaldeans who shall come to us: but you, gather wine and summer fruits and oil, and put them in your vessels, and dwell in your cities that you have taken.

¹¹Likewise when all the Jews who were in Moab, and among the children of Ammon, and in Edom, and who were in all the countries, heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant of Judah, and that he had set over them Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan; ¹²then all the Jews returned out of all places where they were driven, and came to the land of Judah, to Gedaliah, to Mizpah, and gathered wine and summer fruits very much.

¹³Moreover Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were in the fields, came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, ¹⁴and said to him, Do you know that Baalis the king of the children of Ammon has sent Ishmael the son of Nethaniah to take your life? But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam didn't believe them.

¹⁵Then Johanan the son of Kareah spoke to Gedaliah in Mizpah secretly, saying, Please let me go, and I will kill Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no man shall know it: why should he take your life, that all the Jews who are gathered to you should be scattered, and the remnant of Judah perish?

¹⁶But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam said to Johanan the son of Kareah, You shall not do this thing; for you speak falsely of Ishmael.

Jeremiah Chapter 41

¹Now in the seventh month, Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the offspring royal and [one of] the chief officers of the king, and ten men with him, came to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and there they ate bread together in Mizpah.

²Then arose Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and the ten men who were with him, and struck Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan with the sword, and killed him, whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land.

³Ishmael also killed all the Jews who were with him, [to wit], with Gedaliah, at Mizpah, and the Chaldeans who were found there, the men of war.

Psalm 106

¹Praise ForeverOne! Give thanks to ForeverOne, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.

²Who can utter the mighty acts of ForeverOne, or fully declare all his praise?

³Blessed are those who keep justice. Blessed is one who does what is right at all times.

⁴Remember me, ForeverOne, with the favor that you show to your people. Visit me with your salvation, ⁵that I may see the prosperity of your chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of your nation, that I may glory with your inheritance.

⁶We have sinned with our fathers. We have committed iniquity. We have done wickedly.

⁷Our fathers didn't understand your wonders in Egypt. They didn't remember the multitude of your loving kindnesses, but were rebellious at the sea, even at the Red Sea.

⁸Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power known.

⁹He rebuked the Red Sea also, and it was dried up; so he led them through the depths, as through a desert.

¹⁰He saved them from the hand of him who hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

¹¹The waters covered their adversaries. There was not one of them left.

¹²Then they believed his words. They sang his praise.

¹³They soon forgot his works. They didn't wait for his counsel, ¹⁴but gave in to craving in the desert, and tested God in the wasteland.

¹⁵He gave them their request, but sent leanness into their soul.

¹⁶They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron, ForeverOne's saint.

¹⁷The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.

¹⁸A fire was kindled in their company. The flame burned up the wicked.

¹⁹They made a calf in Horeb, and worshiped a molten image.

²⁰Thus they exchanged their glory for an image of a bull that eats grass.

²¹They forgot God, their Savior, who had done great things in Egypt, ²²Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and awesome things by the Red Sea.

²³Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had Moses, his chosen, not stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, so that he wouldn't destroy them.

2 Corinthians Chapter 3

¹Are we beginning again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as do some, letters of commendation to you or from you?

²You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men, ³being revealed that you are a letter of the AnointedOne, served by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tablets of stone, but in tablets that are hearts of flesh.

⁴Such confidence we have through the AnointedOne toward God, ⁵not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God, ⁶who also made us sufficient as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter, but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

⁷But if the service of death, written engraved on stones, came with glory, so that the children of Israel could not look steadfastly on the face of Moses for the glory of his face, which was passing away, ⁸won't service of the Spirit be with much more glory?

⁹For if the service of condemnation has glory, the service of righteousness exceeds much more in glory.

¹⁰For most certainly what has been made glorious has not been made glorious in this respect, by reason of the glory that surpasses.

¹¹For if what passes away was with glory, much more what remains is in glory.

¹²So having such a hope, we use great boldness of speech, ¹³and not as Moses, who put a veil on his face, that the children of Israel wouldn't look steadfastly on the end of what was passing away.

¹⁴But their minds were hardened, for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains, because in the AnointedOne it passes away.

¹⁵But to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart.

¹⁶But whenever someone turns to ForeverOne, the veil is taken away.

¹⁷Now ForeverOne is the Spirit and where the Spirit of ForeverOne is, there is liberty.

¹⁸But we all, with unveiled face seeing the glory of ForeverOne as in a mirror, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from ForeverOne, the Spirit.

2 Corinthians Chapter 4

¹So seeing we have this ministry, even as we obtained mercy, we don't faint.

²But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

³Even if our Good News is veiled, it is veiled among those who perish; ⁴in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of the AnointedOne, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them.

⁵For we don't preach ourselves, but AnointedOne Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake, ⁶seeing it is God who said, "Light will shine out of darkness," who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus AnointedOne.
