Leviticus Chapter 16

²³"Aaron shall enter the Tent of Meeting, and shall take off the linen garments, which he put on when he went into the Holy Place, and shall leave them there.

²⁴Then he shall bathe himself in water in a holy place, and put on his garments, and come out and offer his burnt offering and the burnt offering of the people, and make atonement for himself and for the people.

²⁵The fat of the sin offering he shall burn on the altar.

²⁶"He who lets the goat go for the scapegoat shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall enter the camp.

²⁷The bull for the sin offering, and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the Holy Place, shall be carried outside the camp; and they shall burn their skins, their flesh, and their dung with fire.

²⁸He who burns them shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall enter the camp.

²⁹"It shall be a statute to you forever: in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict your souls, and shall do no kind of work, the native-born, or the stranger who lives as a foreigner among you: ³⁰for on this day shall atonement be made for you, to cleanse you; from all your sins you shall be clean before ForeverOne.

³¹It is a Sabbath of solemn rest to you, and you shall afflict your souls; it is a statute forever.

³²The priest, who is anointed and who is consecrated to be priest in his father's place, shall make the atonement, and shall put on the linen garments, even the holy garments.

³³Then he shall make atonement for the Holy Sanctuary; and he shall make atonement for the Tent of Meeting and for the altar; and he shall make atonement for the priests and for all the people of the assembly.

³⁴"This shall be an everlasting statute for you, to make atonement for the children of Israel once in the year because of all their sins." It was done as ForeverOne commanded Moses.

Isaiah Chapter 37

²⁶Have you not heard how I have done it long ago, and formed it in ancient times? Now I have brought it to pass, that it should be yours to destroy fortified cities, turning them into ruinous heaps.

²⁷Therefore their inhabitants had little power. They were dismayed and confounded. They were like the grass of the field, and like the green plants, like the grass on the housetops, and like a field before its crop has grown.

²⁸But I know your sitting down, your going out, your coming in, and your raging against me.

²⁹Because of your raging against me, and because your arrogance has come up into my ears, therefore will I put my hook in your nose and my bridle in your lips, and I will turn you back by the way by which you came.

³⁰This shall be the sign to you. You will eat this year what grows of itself, and in the second year what springs from it; and in the third year sow and reap and plant vineyards, and eat their fruit.

³¹The remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah will again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.

³²For out of Jerusalem a remnant will go forth, and survivors will escape from Mount Zion. The zeal of ForeverOne of Armies will perform this.' ³³Therefore thus says ForeverOne concerning the king of Assyria, 'He will not come to this city, nor shoot an arrow there, neither will he come before it with shield, nor build a siege ramp against it.

³⁴By the way that he came, he shall return the same way, and he shall not come to this city,' says ForeverOne.

³⁵'For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake, and for my servant David's sake.'" ³⁶The angel of ForeverOne went out and struck one hundred and eighty-five thousand men in the camp of the Assyrians. When men arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead bodies.

³⁷So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, went away, returned to Nineveh, and stayed there.

³⁸As he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons struck him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. Esar Haddon his son reigned in his place.

Isaiah Chapter 38

¹In those days was Hezekiah sick and near death. Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, came to him, and said to him, "Thus says ForeverOne, 'Set your house in order, for you will die, and not live.'" ²Then Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to ForeverOne, ³and said, "Remember now, ForeverOne, I beg you, how I have walked before you in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done what is good in your sight." Hezekiah wept bitterly.

⁴Then the word of ForeverOne came to Isaiah, saying, ⁵"Go, and tell Hezekiah, 'Thus says ForeverOne, the God of David your father, "I have heard your prayer. I have seen your tears. Behold, I will add fifteen years to your life.

⁶I will deliver you and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria, and I will defend this city.

⁷This shall be the sign to you from ForeverOne, that ForeverOne will do this thing that he has spoken.

⁸Behold, I will cause the shadow on the sundial, which has gone down on the sundial of Ahaz with the sun, to return backward ten steps. So the sun returned ten steps on the sundial on which it had gone down."'" ⁹The writing of Hezekiah king of Judah, when he had been sick, and had recovered of his sickness.

¹⁰I said, "In the middle of my life I go into the gates of Sheol. I am deprived of the residue of my years." ¹¹I said, "I won't see EverOne, EverOne in the land of the living. I will see man no more with the inhabitants of the world.

¹²My dwelling is removed, and is carried away from me like a shepherd's tent. I have rolled up, like a weaver, my life. He will cut me off from the loom. From day even to night you will make an end of me.

¹³I waited patiently until morning. He breaks all my bones like a lion. From day even to night you will make an end of me.

¹⁴I chattered like a swallow or a crane. I moaned like a dove. My eyes weaken looking upward. ForeverOne, I am oppressed. Be my security."

Psalm 14

For the Chief Musician. By David.

¹The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt. They have done abominable works. There is none who does good.

²ForeverOne looked down from heaven on the children of men, to see if there were any who understood, who sought after God.

³They have all gone aside. They have together become corrupt. There is none who does good, no, not one.

⁴Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and don't call on ForeverOne?

⁵There they were in great fear, for God is in the generation of the righteous.

⁶You frustrate the plan of the poor, because ForeverOne is his refuge.

⁷Oh that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When ForeverOne restores the fortunes of his people, then Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

Psalm 15

A Psalm by David.

¹ForeverOne, who shall dwell in your sanctuary? Who shall live on your holy hill?

²He who walks blamelessly does what is right, and speaks truth in his heart; ³He who doesn't slander with his tongue, nor does evil to his friend, nor casts slurs against his fellow man; ⁴In whose eyes a vile man is despised, but who honors those who fear ForeverOne; he who keeps an oath even when it hurts, and doesn't change; ⁵he who doesn't lend out his money for usury, nor take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things shall never be shaken.

Psalm 16

A Poem by David.

¹Preserve me, God, for in you do I take refuge.

²My soul, you have said to ForeverOne, "You are LordOfMine. Apart from you I have no good thing." ³As for the saints who are in the earth, they are the excellent ones in whom is all my delight.

⁴Their sorrows shall be multiplied who give gifts to another [god]. Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, nor take their names on my lips.

⁵ForeverOne assigned my portion and my cup. You made my lot secure.

⁶The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places. Yes, I have a good inheritance.

⁷I will bless ForeverOne, who has given me counsel. Yes, my heart instructs me in the night seasons.

⁸I have set ForeverOne always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

⁹Therefore my heart is glad, and my tongue rejoices. My body shall also dwell in safety.

¹⁰For you will not leave my soul in Sheol, neither will you allow your holy one to see corruption.

¹¹You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.

Acts Chapter 16

¹⁶As we were going to prayer, a certain girl having a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much gain by fortune telling.

¹⁷Following Paul and us, she cried out, "These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us a way of salvation!" ¹⁸She was doing this for many days. But Paul, becoming greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, "I command you in the name of Jesus AnointedOne to come out of her!" It came out that very hour.

¹⁹But when her masters saw that the hope of their gain was gone, they seized Paul and Silas, and dragged them into the marketplace before the rulers.

²⁰When they had brought them to the magistrates, they said, "These men, being Jews, are agitating our city ²¹and advocate customs which it is not lawful for us to accept or to observe, being Romans." ²²The multitude rose up together against them and the magistrates tore their clothes from them, and commanded them to be beaten with rods.

²³When they had laid many stripes on them, they threw them into prison, charging the jailer to keep them safely, ²⁴who, having received such a command, threw them into the inner prison, and secured their feet in the stocks.

²⁵But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.

²⁶Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's bonds were loosened.

²⁷The jailer, being roused out of sleep and seeing the prison doors open, drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped.

²⁸But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, "Don't harm yourself, for we are all here!" ²⁹He called for lights, sprang in and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas.

³⁰He brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" ³¹They said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus AnointedOne, and you will be saved, you and your household." ³²They spoke the word of the Lord to him, and to all who were in his house.

³³He took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds, and was immediately baptized, he and all his household.

³⁴He brought them up into his house, and set food before them, and rejoiced greatly, with all his household, having believed in God.

³⁵But when it was day, the magistrates sent the sergeants, saying, "Let those men go." ³⁶The jailer reported these words to Paul, saying, "The magistrates have sent to let you go; so, come out and go in peace now." ³⁷But Paul said to them, "They have beaten us publicly without a trial, men who are Romans, and have thrown us into prison! Do they now release us secretly? No, most certainly, but let them come themselves and bring us out!" ³⁸The sergeants reported these words to the magistrates, and they were afraid when they heard that they were Romans, ³⁹and they came and begged them. When they had brought them out, they asked them to depart from the city.

⁴⁰They went out of the prison, and entered into Lydia's house. When they had seen the brothers, they encouraged them, then departed.
