Leviticus 16:11-22

12 verses

Leviticus Chapter 16

11"Aaron shall present the bull of the sin offering, which is for himself, and shall make atonement for himself and for his house, and shall kill the bull of the sin offering which is for himself.

12He shall take a censer full of coals of fire from off the altar before ForeverOne, and two handfuls of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the veil: 13and he shall put the incense on the fire before ForeverOne, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy seat that is on the testimony, so that he will not die.

14He shall take some of the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it with his finger on the mercy seat on the east; and before the mercy seat he shall sprinkle some of the blood with his finger seven times.

15"Then he shall kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the veil, and do with his blood as he did with the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it on the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat: 16and he shall make atonement for the Holy Place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions, even all their sins; and so he shall do for the Tent of Meeting, that dwells with them in the midst of their uncleanness.

17No one shall be in the Tent of Meeting when he enters to make atonement in the Holy Place, until he comes out, and has made atonement for himself and for his household, and for all the assembly of Israel.

18"He shall go out to the altar that is before ForeverOne and make atonement for it, and shall take some of the bull's blood, and some of the goat's blood, and put it around on the horns of the altar.

19He shall sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and make it holy from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.

20"When he has finished atoning for the Holy Place, the Tent of Meeting, and the altar, he shall present the live goat.

21Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions, even all their sins; and he shall put them on the head of the goat, and shall send him away into the wilderness by the hand of a man who is in readiness.

22The goat shall carry all their iniquities on himself to a solitary land, and he shall let the goat go in the wilderness.

Isaiah 37:1-25

25 verses

Isaiah Chapter 37

1When king Hezekiah heard it he tore his clothes, covered himself with sackcloth, and went into ForeverOne's house.

2He sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz.

3They said to him, "Thus says Hezekiah, 'Today is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of rejection; for the children have come to the birth, and there is no strength to produce.

4It may be ForeverOne your God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master has sent to defy the living God, and will rebuke the words which ForeverOne your God has heard. Therefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left.'" 5So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.

6Isaiah said to them, "Tell your master, 'Thus says ForeverOne, "Don't be afraid of the words that you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.

7Behold, I will put a spirit in him and he will hear news, and will return to his own land. I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land."'" 8So Rabshakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah, for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.

9He heard news concerning Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, "He has come out to fight against you." When he heard it, he sent messengers to Hezekiah, saying, 10"Thus you shall speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, 'Don't let your God in whom you trust deceive you, saying, "Jerusalem won't be given into the hand of the king of Assyria." 11Behold, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly. Shall you be delivered?

12Have the gods of the nations delivered them, which my fathers have destroyed, Gozan, Haran, Rezeph, and the children of Eden who were in Telassar?

13Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivvah?'" 14Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers and read it. Then Hezekiah went up to ForeverOne's house, and spread it before ForeverOne.

15Hezekiah prayed to ForeverOne, saying, 16"ForeverOne of Armies, the God of Israel, who is enthroned among the cherubim, you are the God, even you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.

17Turn your ear, ForeverOne, and hear. Open your eyes, ForeverOne, and behold. Hear all of the words of Sennacherib, who has sent to defy the living God.

18Truly, ForeverOne, the kings of Assyria have destroyed all the countries and their land, 19and have thrown their gods into the fire; for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone; therefore they have destroyed them.

20Now therefore, ForeverOne our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you are ForeverOne, even you only." 21Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, "Thus says ForeverOne, the God of Israel, 'Because you have prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria, 22this is the word which ForeverOne has spoken concerning him. The virgin daughter of Zion has despised you and ridiculed you. The daughter of Jerusalem has shaken her head at you.

23Whom have you defied and blasphemed? Against whom have you exalted your voice and lifted up your eyes on high? Against the Holy One of Israel.

24By your servants, you have defied LordOfMine, and have said, "With the multitude of my chariots I have come up to the height of the mountains, to the innermost parts of Lebanon. I will cut down its tall cedars and its choice fir trees. I will enter into its farthest height, the forest of its fruitful field.

25I have dug and drunk water, and with the sole of my feet I will dry up all the rivers of Egypt."

Section 3

Psalm 11-13

24 verses

Psalm 11

For the Chief Musician. By David.

1In ForeverOne, I take refuge. How can you say to my soul, "Flee as a bird to your mountain!" 2For, behold, the wicked bend their bows. They set their arrows on the strings, that they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.

3If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?

4ForeverOne is in his holy temple. ForeverOne is on his throne in heaven. His eyes observe. His eyes examine the children of men.

5ForeverOne examines the righteous, but the wicked and him who loves violence his soul hates.

6On the wicked he will rain blazing coals; fire, sulfur, and scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.

7For ForeverOne is righteous. He loves righteousness. The upright shall see his face.

Psalm 12

For the Chief Musician; upon an eight-stringed lyre. A Psalm of David.

1Help, ForeverOne; for the godly man ceases. For the faithful fail from among the children of men.

2Everyone lies to his neighbor. They speak with flattering lips, and with a double heart.

3May ForeverOne cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that boasts, 4who have said, "With our tongue we will prevail. Our lips are our own. Who is lord over us?" 5"Because of the oppression of the weak and because of the groaning of the needy, I will now arise," says ForeverOne; "I will set him in safety from those who malign him." 6The words of ForeverOne are flawless words, as silver refined in a clay furnace, purified seven times.

7You will keep them, ForeverOne. You will preserve them from this generation forever.

8The wicked walk on every side, when what is vile is exalted among the sons of men.

Psalm 13

For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David.

1How long, ForeverOne? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?

2How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart every day? How long shall my enemy triumph over me?

3Behold, and answer me, ForeverOne, my God. Give light to my eyes, lest I sleep in death; 4Lest my enemy say, "I have prevailed against him;" Lest my adversaries rejoice when I fall.

5But I trust in your loving kindness. My heart rejoices in your salvation.

6I will sing to ForeverOne, because he has been good to me.

Section 4

Acts 15:36-16:15

21 verses

Acts Chapter 15

36After some days Paul said to Barnabas, "Let's return now and visit our brothers in every city in which we proclaimed the word of the Lord, to see how they are doing." 37Barnabas planned to take John, called Mark, with them also.

38But Paul didn't think that it was a good idea to take with them someone who had withdrawn from them in Pamphylia, and didn't go with them to do the work.

39Then the contention grew so sharp that they separated from each other. Barnabas took Mark with him and sailed away to Cyprus, 40but Paul chose Silas and went out, being commended by the brothers to the grace of God.

41He went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the assemblies.

Acts Chapter 16

1He came to Derbe and Lystra: and behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a Jewess who believed; but his father was a Greek.

2The brothers who were at Lystra and Iconium gave a good testimony about him.

3Paul wanted to have him go out with him, and he took and circumcised him because of the Jews who were in those parts; for they all knew that his father was a Greek.

4As they went on their way through the cities, they delivered the decrees to them to keep which had been ordained by the apostles and elders who were at Jerusalem.

5So the assemblies were strengthened in the faith, and increased in number daily.

6When they had gone through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia.

7When they had come opposite Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit didn't allow them.

8Passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas.

9A vision appeared to Paul in the night. There was a man of Macedonia standing, begging him, and saying, "Come over into Macedonia and help us." 10When he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go out to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the Good News to them.

11So setting sail from Troas, we made a straight course to Samothrace, and the day following to Neapolis; 12and from there to Philippi, which is a city of Macedonia, the foremost of the district, a Roman colony. We were staying some days in this city.

13On the Sabbath day we went outside of the city by a riverside, where we supposed there was a place of prayer, and we sat down and spoke to the women who had come together.

14A certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, one who worshiped God, heard us. The Lord opened her heart to listen to the things which were spoken by Paul.

15When she and her household were baptized, she begged us, saying, "If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house and stay." So she persuaded us.
