Exodus 10:1-15

Exodus Chapter 10

1ForeverOne said to Moses, "Go in to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I may show these my signs in the midst of them, 2and that you may tell in the hearing of your son, and of your son's son, what things I have done to Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that you may know that I am ForeverOne." 3Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh, and said to him, "This is what ForeverOne, the God of the Hebrews, says: 'How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? Let my people go, that they may serve me.

4Or else, if you refuse to let my people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring locusts into your country, 5and they shall cover the surface of the earth, so that one won't be able to see the earth. They shall eat the residue of what has escaped, which remains to you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which grows for you out of the field.

6Your houses shall be filled, and the houses of all your servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians; as neither your fathers nor your fathers' fathers have seen, since the day that they were on the earth to this day.'" He turned, and went out from Pharaoh.

7Pharaoh's servants said to him, "How long will this man be a snare to us? Let the men go, that they may serve ForeverOne, their God. Don't you yet know that Egypt is destroyed?" 8Moses and Aaron were brought again to Pharaoh, and he said to them, "Go, serve ForeverOne your God; but who are those who will go?" 9Moses said, "We will go with our young and with our old; with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we must hold a feast to ForeverOne." 10He said to them, "ForeverOne be with you if I will let you go with your little ones! See, evil is clearly before your faces.

11Not so! Go now you who are men, and serve ForeverOne; for that is what you desire!" They were driven out from Pharaoh's presence.

12ForeverOne said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up on the land of Egypt, and eat every plant of the land, even all that the hail has left." 13Moses stretched out his rod over the land of Egypt, and ForeverOne brought an east wind on the land all that day, and all the night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.

14The locusts went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the borders of Egypt. They were very grievous. Before them there were no such locusts nor will there ever be again.

15For they covered the surface of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened, and they ate every plant of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left. There remained nothing green, either tree or plant of the field, through all the land of Egypt.

2 Samuel 21:15-22:28

2 Samuel Chapter 21

15The Philistines had war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines. David grew faint; 16and Ishbibenob, who was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear was three hundred [shekels] of brass in weight, he being armed with a new [sword], thought to have slain David.

17But Abishai the son of Zeruiah helped him, and struck the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David swore to him, saying, "You shall go no more out with us to battle, that you don't quench the lamp of Israel." 18It came to pass after this, that there was again war with the Philistines at Gob: then Sibbecai the Hushathite killed Saph, who was of the sons of the giant.

19There was again war with the Philistines at Gob; and Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim the Bethlehemite killed Goliath the Gittite's brother, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.

20There was again war at Gath, where there was a man of great stature, who had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.

21When he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimei, David's brother, killed him.

22These four were born to the giant in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.

2 Samuel Chapter 22

1David spoke to ForeverOne the words of this song in the day that ForeverOne delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul: 2and he said, "ForeverOne is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, even mine; 3God, my rock, in him I will take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge. My savior, you save me from violence.

4I will call on ForeverOne, who is worthy to be praised: So shall I be saved from my enemies.

5For the waves of death surrounded me. The floods of ungodliness made me afraid.

6The cords of Sheol were around me. The snares of death caught me.

7In my distress I called on ForeverOne. Yes, I called to my God. He heard my voice out of his temple. My cry [came] into his ears.

8Then the earth shook and trembled. The foundations of heaven quaked and were shaken, because he was angry.

9Smoke went up out of his nostrils. Fire out of his mouth devoured. Coals were kindled by it.

10He bowed the heavens also, and came down. Thick darkness was under his feet.

11He rode on a cherub, and flew. Yes, he was seen on the wings of the wind.

12He made darkness pavilions around himself: gathering of waters, and thick clouds of the skies.

13At the brightness before him, coals of fire were kindled.

14ForeverOne thundered from heaven. The Most High uttered his voice.

15He sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and confused them.

16Then the channels of the sea appeared. The foundations of the world were laid bare by the rebuke of ForeverOne, At the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

17He sent from on high and he took me. He drew me out of many waters.

18He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me.

19They came on me in the day of my calamity, but ForeverOne was my support.

20He also brought me out into a large place. He delivered me, because he delighted in me.

21ForeverOne rewarded me according to my righteousness. He rewarded me according to the cleanness of my hands.

22For I have kept the ways of ForeverOne, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

23For all his ordinances were before me. As for his statutes, I did not depart from them.

24I was also perfect toward him. I kept myself from my iniquity.

25Therefore ForeverOne has rewarded me according to my righteousness, According to my cleanness in his eyesight.

26With the merciful you will show yourself merciful. With the perfect man you will show yourself perfect.

27With the pure you will show yourself pure. With the crooked you will show yourself shrewd.

28You will save the afflicted people, But your eyes are on the haughty, that you may bring them down.

Ezra 2:68-3:9

12 verses

Ezra Chapter 2

68Some of the heads of fathers' [houses], when they came to the house of ForeverOne which is in Jerusalem, offered willingly for the house of God to set it up in its place: 69they gave after their ability into the treasury of the work sixty-one thousand darics of gold, and five thousand minas of silver, and one hundred priests' garments.

70So the priests, and the Levites, and some of the people, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinim, lived in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.

Ezra Chapter 3

1When the seventh month had come, and the children of Israel were in the cities, the people gathered themselves together as one man to Jerusalem.

2Then stood up Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brothers the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his brothers, and built the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings on it, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.

3They set the altar on its base; for fear was on them because of the peoples of the countries: and they offered burnt offerings to ForeverOne on it, even burnt offerings morning and evening.

4They kept the feast of tents, as it is written, and [offered] the daily burnt offerings by number, according to the ordinance, as the duty of every day required; 5and afterward the continual burnt offering, and [the offerings] of the new moons, and of all the set feasts of ForeverOne that were consecrated, and of everyone who willingly offered a freewill offering to ForeverOne.

6From the first day of the seventh month began they to offer burnt offerings to ForeverOne: but the foundation of the temple of ForeverOne was not yet laid.

7They gave money also to the masons, and to the carpenters; and food, and drink, and oil, to them of Sidon, and to them of Tyre, to bring cedar trees from Lebanon to the sea, to Joppa, according to the grant that they had of Cyrus king of Persia.

8Now in the second year of their coming to the house of God at Jerusalem, in the second month, began Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and the rest of their brothers the priests and the Levites, and all those who had come out of the captivity to Jerusalem, and appointed the Levites, from twenty years old and upward, to have the oversight of the work of the house of ForeverOne.

9Then stood Jeshua with his sons and his brothers, Kadmiel and his sons, the sons of Judah, together, to have the oversight of the workmen in the house of God: the sons of Henadad, with their sons and their brothers the Levites.

Section 4

Luke 11:43-12:10

22 verses

Luke Chapter 11

43Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the best seats in the synagogues, and the greetings in the marketplaces.

44Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like hidden graves, and the men who walk over them don't know it." 45One of the lawyers answered him, "Teacher, in saying this you insult us also." 46He said, "Woe to you lawyers also! For you load men with burdens that are difficult to carry, and you yourselves won't even lift one finger to help carry those burdens.

47Woe to you! For you build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.

48So you testify and consent to the actions of your fathers. For they killed them, and you build their tombs.

49Therefore also the wisdom of God said, 'I will send to them prophets and apostles; and some of them they will kill and persecute, 50that the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation; 51from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zachariah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary.' Yes, I tell you, it will be required of this generation.

52Woe to you lawyers! For you took away the key of knowledge. You didn't enter in yourselves, and those who were entering in, you hindered." 53As he said these things to them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to be terribly angry, and to draw many things out of him; 54lying in wait for him, and seeking to catch him in something he might say, that they might accuse him.

Luke Chapter 12

1Meanwhile, when a multitude of many thousands had gathered together, so much so that they trampled on each other, he began to tell his disciples first of all, "Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

2But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known.

3So whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light. What you have spoken in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.

4"I tell you, my friends, don't be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

5But I will warn you whom you should fear. Fear him who after he has killed, has power to throw into Gehenna. Yes, I tell you, fear him.

6"Aren't five sparrows sold for two assaria coins? Not one of them is forgotten by God.

7But the very hairs of your head are all counted. So don't be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.

8"I tell you, everyone who confesses me before men, the Son of Man will also confess before the angels of God; 9but he who denies me in the presence of men will be denied in the presence of God's angels.

10Everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but those who blaspheme against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.
