Exodus Chapter 26

7"You shall make curtains of goats' hair for a covering over the tabernacle. You shall make them eleven curtains.

8The length of each curtain shall be thirty cubits, and the width of each curtain four cubits: the eleven curtains shall have one measure.

9You shall couple five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves, and shall double over the sixth curtain in the forefront of the tent.

10You shall make fifty loops on the edge of the one curtain that is outmost in the coupling, and fifty loops on the edge of the curtain which is outmost in the second coupling.

11You shall make fifty clasps of brass, and put the clasps into the loops, and couple the tent together, that it may be one.

12The overhanging part that remains of the curtains of the tent, the half curtain that remains, shall hang over the back of the tabernacle.

13The cubit on the one side, and the cubit on the other side, of what remains in the length of the curtains of the tent, shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle on this side and on that side, to cover it.

14You shall make a covering for the tent of rams' skins dyed red, and a covering of sea cow hides above.

15"You shall make the boards for the tabernacle of acacia wood, standing up.

16Ten cubits shall be the length of a board, and one and a half cubits the width of each board.

17There shall be two tenons in each board, joined to one another: thus you shall make for all the boards of the tabernacle.

18You shall make the boards for the tabernacle, twenty boards for the south side southward.

19You shall make forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards; two sockets under one board for its two tenons, and two sockets under another board for its two tenons.

20For the second side of the tabernacle, on the north side, twenty boards, 21and their forty sockets of silver; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.

22For the far part of the tabernacle westward you shall make six boards.

23You shall make two boards for the corners of the tabernacle in the far part.

24They shall be double beneath, and in the same way they shall be whole to its top to one ring: thus shall it be for them both; they shall be for the two corners.

25There shall be eight boards, and their sockets of silver, sixteen sockets; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.

1 Kings 18:25-46

1 Kings Chapter 18

25Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, "Choose one bull for yourselves, and dress it first; for you are many; and call on the name of your god, but put no fire under it." 26They took the bull which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any who answered. They leaped about the altar which was made.

27At noon Elijah mocked them, and said, "Cry aloud; for he is a god. Either he is musing, or he has gone aside, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he sleeps and must be awakened." 28They cried aloud, and cut themselves in their way with knives and lances, until the blood gushed out on them.

29When midday was past they prophesied until the time of the offering of the offering; but there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any who regarded.

30Elijah said to all the people, "Come near to me;" and all the people came near to him. He repaired the altar of ForeverOne that was thrown down.

31Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, to whom the word of ForeverOne came, saying, "Israel shall be your name." 32With the stones he built an altar in the name of ForeverOne. He made a trench around the altar, large enough to contain two measures of seed.

33He put the wood in order, and cut the bull in pieces, and laid it on the wood. He said, "Fill four jars with water, and pour it on the burnt offering, and on the wood." 34He said, "Do it a second time;" and they did it the second time. He said, "Do it a third time;" and they did it the third time.

35The water ran around the altar; and he also filled the trench with water.

36At the time of the offering Elijah the prophet came near, and said, "ForeverOne, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that I have done all these things at your word.

37Hear me, ForeverOne, hear me, that this people may know that you, ForeverOne, are God, and that you have turned their heart back again." 38Then the fire of ForeverOne fell, and consumed the burnt offering, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.

39When all the people saw it, they fell on their faces. They said, "ForeverOne, he is God! ForeverOne, he is God!" 40Elijah said to them, "Seize the prophets of Baal! Don't let one of them escape!" They seized them. Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and killed them there.

41Elijah said to Ahab, "Get up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain." 42So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he bowed himself down on the earth, and put his face between his knees.

43He said to his servant, "Go up now, look toward the sea." He went up, and looked, and said, "There is nothing." He said, "Go again" seven times.

44The seventh time he said, "Behold, a small cloud, like a man's hand, is rising out of the sea." He said, "Go up, tell Ahab, 'Get ready and go down, so that the rain doesn't stop you.'" 45In a little while the sky grew black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.

46The hand of ForeverOne was on Elijah; and he tucked his cloak into his belt and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

Nehemiah Chapter 10

37and that we should bring the first fruits of our dough, and our wave offerings, and the fruit of all kinds of trees, the new wine and the oil, to the priests, to the rooms of the house of our God; and the tithes of our ground to the Levites; for they, the Levites, take the tithes in all the cities of our tillage.

38The priest the son of Aaron shall be with the Levites, when the Levites take tithes: and the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes to the house of our God, to the rooms, into the treasure house.

39For the children of Israel and the children of Levi shall bring the wave offering of the grain, of the new wine, and of the oil, to the rooms, where are the vessels of the sanctuary, and the priests who minister, and the porters, and the singers. We will not forsake the house of our God.

Nehemiah Chapter 11

1The princes of the people lived in Jerusalem: the rest of the people also cast lots, to bring one of ten to dwell in Jerusalem the holy city, and nine parts in the [other] cities.

2The people blessed all the men who willingly offered themselves to dwell in Jerusalem.

3Now these are the chiefs of the province who lived in Jerusalem: but in the cities of Judah lived everyone in his possession in their cities, [to wit], Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the Nethinim, and the children of Solomon's servants.

4In Jerusalem lived certain of the children of Judah, and of the children of Benjamin. Of the children of Judah: Athaiah the son of Uzziah, the son of Zechariah, the son of Amariah, the son of Shephatiah, the son of Mahalalel, of the children of Perez; 5and Maaseiah the son of Baruch, the son of Colhozeh, the son of Hazaiah, the son of Adaiah, the son of Joiarib, the son of Zechariah, the son of the Shilonite.

6All the sons of Perez who lived in Jerusalem were four hundred sixty-eight valiant men.

7These are the sons of Benjamin: Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Joed, the son of Pedaiah, the son of Kolaiah, the son of Maaseiah, the son of Ithiel, the son of Jeshaiah.

8After him Gabbai, Sallai, nine hundred twenty-eight.

9Joel the son of Zichri was their overseer; and Judah the son of Hassenuah was second over the city.

10Of the priests: Jedaiah the son of Joiarib, Jachin, 11Seraiah the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the ruler of the house of God, 12and their brothers who did the work of the house, eight hundred twenty-two; and Adaiah the son of Jeroham, the son of Pelaliah, the son of Amzi, the son of Zechariah, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malchijah, 13and his brothers, chiefs of fathers' [houses], two hundred forty-two; and Amashsai the son of Azarel, the son of Ahzai, the son of Meshillemoth, the son of Immer, 14and their brothers, mighty men of valor, one hundred twenty-eight; and their overseer was Zabdiel, the son of Haggedolim.

John Chapter 3

1Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.

2The same came to him by night, and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do, unless God is with him." 3Jesus answered him, "Most certainly, I tell you, unless one is born anew, he can't see God's Kingdom." 4Nicodemus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb, and be born?" 5Jesus answered, "Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born of water and spirit, he can't enter into God's Kingdom.

6What is born of the flesh is flesh. What is born of the Spirit is spirit.

7Don't marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born anew.' 8The wind blows where it wants to, and you hear its sound, but don't know where it comes from and where it is going. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit." 9Nicodemus answered him, "How can these things be?" 10Jesus answered him, "Are you the teacher of Israel, and don't understand these things?

11Most certainly I tell you, we speak what we know, and testify of what we have seen, and you don't receive our witness.

12If I told you earthly things and you don't believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?

13No one has ascended into heaven but he who descended out of heaven, the Son of Man, who is in heaven.

14As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

17For God didn't send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him.

18He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn't believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.

19This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their actions were evil.

20For everyone who does evil hates the light, and doesn't come to the light, lest his actions would be exposed.

21But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his actions may be revealed, that they have been done in God."
