Genesis Chapter 42

18Joseph said to them the third day, "Do this, and live, for I fear God.

19If you are honest men, then let one of your brothers be bound in your prison; but you go, carry grain for the famine of your houses.

20Bring your youngest brother to me; so will your words be verified, and you won't die." They did so.

21They said one to another, "We are certainly guilty concerning our brother, in that we saw the distress of his soul, when he begged us, and we wouldn't listen. Therefore this distress has come upon us." 22Reuben answered them, saying, "Didn't I tell you, saying, 'Don't sin against the child,' and you wouldn't listen? Therefore also, behold, his blood is required." 23They didn't know that Joseph understood them; for there was an interpreter between them.

24He turned himself away from them, and wept. Then he returned to them, and spoke to them, and took Simeon from among them, and bound him before their eyes.

25Then Joseph gave a command to fill their bags with grain, and to restore each man's money into his sack, and to give them food for the way. So it was done to them.

26They loaded their donkeys with their grain, and departed from there.

27As one of them opened his sack to give his donkey food in the lodging place, he saw his money. Behold, it was in the mouth of his sack.

28He said to his brothers, "My money is restored! Behold, it is in my sack!" Their hearts failed them, and they turned trembling one to another, saying, "What is this that God has done to us?" 29They came to Jacob their father, to the land of Canaan, and told him all that had happened to them, saying, 30"The man, the lord of the land, spoke roughly with us, and took us for spies of the country.

31We said to him, 'We are honest men. We are no spies.

32We are twelve brothers, sons of our father; one is no more, and the youngest is today with our father in the land of Canaan.' 33The man, the lord of the land, said to us, 'By this I will know that you are honest men: leave one of your brothers with me, and take grain for the famine of your houses, and go your way.

34Bring your youngest brother to me. Then I will know that you are not spies, but that you are honest men. So I will deliver your brother to you, and you shall trade in the land.'"

1 Samuel 22:13-23:18

1 Samuel Chapter 22

13Saul said to him, "Why have you conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse, in that you have given him bread, and a sword, and have inquired of God for him, that he should rise against me, to lie in wait, as it is today?" 14Then Ahimelech answered the king, and said, "Who among all your servants is so faithful as David, who is the king's son-in-law, and is taken into your council, and is honorable in your house?

15Have I today begun to inquire of God for him? Be it far from me! Don't let the king impute anything to his servant, nor to all the house of my father; for your servant knows nothing of all this, less or more." 16The king said, "You shall surely die, Ahimelech, you, and all your father's house." 17The king said to the guard who stood about him, "Turn, and kill the priests of ForeverOne; because their hand also is with David, and because they knew that he fled, and didn't disclose it to me." But the servants of the king wouldn't reach out their hand to fall on the priests of ForeverOne.

18The king said to Doeg, "Turn and attack the priests!" Doeg the Edomite turned, and he attacked the priests, and he killed on that day eighty-five people who wore a linen ephod.

19He struck Nob, the city of the priests, with the edge of the sword, both men and women, children and nursing babies, and cattle and donkeys and sheep, with the edge of the sword.

20One of the sons of Ahimelech, the son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped, and fled after David.

21Abiathar told David that Saul had slain ForeverOne's priests.

22David said to Abiathar, "I knew on that day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would surely tell Saul. I am responsible for the death of all the persons of your father's house.

23Stay with me, don't be afraid; for he who seeks my life seeks your life. For with me you shall be in safeguard."

1 Samuel Chapter 23

1David was told, "Behold, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah, and are robbing the threshing floors." 2Therefore David inquired of ForeverOne, saying, "Shall I go and strike these Philistines?" ForeverOne said to David, "Go strike the Philistines, and save Keilah." 3David's men said to him, "Behold, we are afraid here in Judah: how much more then if we go to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?" 4Then David inquired of ForeverOne yet again. ForeverOne answered him, and said, "Arise, go down to Keilah; for I will deliver the Philistines into your hand." 5David and his men went to Keilah, and fought with the Philistines, and brought away their livestock, and killed them with a great slaughter. So David saved the inhabitants of Keilah.

6When Abiathar the son of Ahimelech fled to David [at] Keilah, that he came down with an ephod in his hand.

7Saul was told that David had come to Keilah. Saul said, "God has delivered him into my hand; for he is shut in, by entering into a town that has gates and bars." 8Saul summoned all the people to war, to go down to Keilah, to besiege David and his men.

9David knew that Saul was devising mischief against him; and he said to Abiathar the priest, "Bring the ephod here." 10Then David said, "O ForeverOne, the God of Israel, your servant has surely heard that Saul seeks to come to Keilah, to destroy the city for my sake.

11Will the men of Keilah deliver me up into his hand? Will Saul come down, as your servant has heard? ForeverOne, the God of Israel, I beg you, tell your servant." ForeverOne said, "He will come down." 12Then David said, "Will the men of Keilah deliver me and my men into the hand of Saul?" ForeverOne said, "They will deliver you up." 13Then David and his men, who were about six hundred, arose and departed out of Keilah, and went wherever they could go. Saul was told that David was escaped from Keilah; and he gave up going there.

14David stayed in the wilderness in the strongholds, and remained in the hill country in the wilderness of Ziph. Saul sought him every day, but God didn't deliver him into his hand.

15David saw that Saul had come out to seek his life. David was in the wilderness of Ziph in the wood.

16Jonathan, Saul's son, arose, and went to David into the woods, and strengthened his hand in God.

17He said to him, "Don't be afraid; for the hand of Saul my father shall not find you; and you shall be king over Israel, and I shall be next to you; and that also Saul my father knows." 18They both made a covenant before ForeverOne: and David stayed in the woods, and Jonathan went to his house.

2 Chronicles 19:1-20:4

15 verses

2 Chronicles Chapter 19

1Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned to his house in peace to Jerusalem.

2Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, "Should you help the wicked, and love those who hate ForeverOne? Because of this, wrath is on you from before ForeverOne.

3Nevertheless there are good things found in you, in that you have put away the Asheroth out of the land, and have set your heart to seek God." 4Jehoshaphat lived at Jerusalem: and he went out again among the people from Beersheba to the hill country of Ephraim, and brought them back to ForeverOne, the God of their fathers.

5He set judges in the land throughout all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city, 6and said to the judges, "Consider what you do: for you don't judge for man, but for ForeverOne; and [he is] with you in the judgment.

7Now therefore let the fear of ForeverOne be on you. Take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with ForeverOne our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of bribes." 8Moreover in Jerusalem Jehoshaphat appointed Levites and priests, and of the heads of the fathers' [houses] of Israel, for the judgment of ForeverOne, and for controversies. They returned to Jerusalem.

9He commanded them, saying, "Thus you shall do in the fear of ForeverOne, faithfully, and with a perfect heart.

10Whenever any controversy shall come to you from your brothers who dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and ordinances, you shall warn them, that they not be guilty towards ForeverOne, and so wrath come on you and on your brothers. Do this, and you shall not be guilty.

11Behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of ForeverOne; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, in all the king's matters: also the Levites shall be officers before you. Deal courageously, and may ForeverOne be with the good."

2 Chronicles Chapter 20

1After this, the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them some of the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.

2Then some came who told Jehoshaphat, saying, "A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea from Syria. Behold, they are in Hazazon Tamar" (that is, En Gedi).

3Jehoshaphat was alarmed, and set himself to seek to ForeverOne. He proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.

4Judah gathered themselves together, to seek help from ForeverOne. They came out of all the cities of Judah to seek ForeverOne.

Mark 14:10-31

22 verses

Mark Chapter 14

10Judas Iscariot, who was one of the twelve, went away to the chief priests, that he might deliver him to them.

11They, when they heard it, were glad, and promised to give him money. He sought how he might conveniently deliver him.

12On the first day of unleavened bread, when they sacrificed the Passover, his disciples asked him, "Where do you want us to go and prepare that you may eat the Passover?" 13He sent two of his disciples, and said to them, "Go into the city, and there a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. Follow him, 14and wherever he enters in, tell the householder, 'The Teacher says, "Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?"' 15He will himself show you a large upper room furnished and ready. Get ready for us there." 16His disciples went out, and came into the city, and found things as he had said to them, and they prepared the Passover.

17When it was evening he came with the twelve.

18As they sat and were eating, Jesus said, "Most certainly I tell you, one of you will betray me- he who eats with me." 19They began to be sorrowful, and to ask him one by one, "Surely not I?" And another said, "Surely not I?" 20He answered them, "It is one of the twelve, he who dips with me in the dish.

21For the Son of Man goes, even as it is written about him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would be better for that man if he had not been born." 22As they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had blessed, he broke it, and gave to them, and said, "Take, eat. This is my body." 23He took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave to them. They all drank of it.

24He said to them, "This is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many.

25Most certainly I tell you, I will no more drink of the fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it anew in God's Kingdom." 26When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

27Jesus said to them, "All of you will be made to stumble because of me tonight, for it is written, 'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.' 28However, after I am raised up, I will go before you into Galilee." 29But Peter said to him, "Although all will be offended, yet I will not." 30Jesus said to him, "Most certainly I tell you, that you today, even this night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times." 31But he spoke all the more, "If I must die with you, I will not deny you." They all said the same thing.
