Genesis 10:1-20

20 verses

Genesis Chapter 10

1Now this is the history of the generations of the sons of Noah and of Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Sons were born to them after the flood.

2The sons of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.

3The sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.

4The sons of Javan were Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

5Of these were the islands of the nations divided in their lands, everyone after his language, after their families, in their nations.

6The sons of Ham were Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.

7The sons of Cush were Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan.

8Cush became the father of Nimrod. He began to be a mighty one in the earth.

9He was a mighty hunter before ForeverOne. Therefore it is said, "Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before ForeverOne".

10The beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

11He went from that land to Assyria, and built Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir, Calah, 12and Resen between Nineveh and the great city Calah.

13Mizraim became the father of Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim, 14Pathrusim, Casluhim (which the Philistines descended from), and Caphtorim.

15Canaan became the father of Sidon (his firstborn), Heth, 16the Jebusite, the Amorite, the Girgashite, 17the Hivite, the Arkite, the Sinite, 18the Arvadite, the Zemarite, and the Hamathite. Afterward the families of the Canaanites were spread abroad.

19The border of the Canaanites was from Sidon- as you go toward Gerar- to Gaza- as you go toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim- to Lasha.

20These are the sons of Ham, after their families, according to their languages, in their lands and their nations.

Joshua 13:15-14:5

Joshua Chapter 13

15Moses gave to the tribe of the children of Reuben according to their families.

16Their border was from Aroer, that is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, and the city that is in the middle of the valley, and all the plain by Medeba; 17Heshbon, and all its cities that are in the plain; Dibon, Bamoth Baal, Beth Baal Meon, 18Jahaz, Kedemoth, Mephaath, 19Kiriathaim, Sibmah, Zereth Shahar in the mount of the valley, 20Beth Peor, the slopes of Pisgah, Beth Jeshimoth, 21all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses struck with the chiefs of Midian, Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba, the princes of Sihon, who lived in the land.

22The children of Israel also killed Balaam the son of Beor, the soothsayer, with the sword, among the rest of their slain.

23The border of the children of Reuben was the bank of the Jordan. This was the inheritance of the children of Reuben according to their families, the cities and its villages.

24Moses gave to the tribe of Gad, to the children of Gad, according to their families.

25Their border was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the children of Ammon, to Aroer that is before Rabbah; 26and from Heshbon to Ramath Mizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim to the border of Debir; 27and in the valley, Beth Haram, Beth Nimrah, Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, the Jordan's bank, to the uttermost part of the sea of Chinnereth beyond the Jordan eastward.

28This is the inheritance of the children of Gad according to their families, the cities and its villages.

29Moses gave an inheritance to the half-tribe of Manasseh. It was for the half-tribe of the children of Manasseh according to their families.

30Their border was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the towns of Jair, which are in Bashan, sixty cities.

31Half Gilead, Ashtaroth, and Edrei, the cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were for the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, even for the half of the children of Machir according to their families.

32These are the inheritances which Moses distributed in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan at Jericho, eastward.

33But to the tribe of Levi Moses gave no inheritance. ForeverOne, the God of Israel, is their inheritance, as he spoke to them.

Joshua Chapter 14

1These are the inheritances which the children of Israel took in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers' houses of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed to them, 2by the lot of their inheritance, as ForeverOne commanded by Moses, for the nine tribes, and for the half-tribe.

3For Moses had given the inheritance of the two tribes and the half-tribe beyond the Jordan; but to the Levites he gave no inheritance among them.

4For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim: and they gave no portion to the Levites in the land, except cities to dwell in, with their suburbs for their livestock and for their property.

5The children of Israel did as ForeverOne commanded Moses, and they divided the land.

1 Chronicles Chapter 5

24These were the heads of their fathers' houses: even Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valor, famous men, heads of their fathers' houses.

25They trespassed against the God of their fathers, and played the prostitute after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God destroyed before them.

26The God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath Pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, and brought them to Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river of Gozan, to this day.

Section 4

Matthew 10:16-39

24 verses

Matthew Chapter 10

16"Behold, I send you out as sheep among wolves; so be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.

17But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils, and in their synagogues they will scourge you.

18Yes, and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the nations.

19But when they deliver you up, don't be anxious how or what you will say, for it will be given you in that hour what you will say.

20For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.

21"Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.

22You will be hated by all men for my name's sake, but he who endures to the end will be saved.

23But when they persecute you in this city, flee into the next, for most certainly I tell you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel until the Son of Man has come.

24"A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master.

25It is enough for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. If they have called the householder Beelzebul, how much more those of his household!

26So don't be afraid of them, for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.

27What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in the ear, proclaim on the housetops.

28Don't be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.

29"Aren't two sparrows sold for an assarion coin? Not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father's will.

30But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

31So don't be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.

32So everyone who confesses me in front of people, I will also confess before my Father who is in heaven.

33But whoever denies me in front of people, I will also deny before my Father who is in heaven.

34"Don't think that I came to send peace on the earth. I didn't come to send peace, but a sword.

35For I came to set a man at odds against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.

36A man's foes will be those of his own household.

37He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me isn't worthy of me.

38He who doesn't take his cross and follow after me isn't worthy of me.

39He who seeks his life will lose it; and he who loses his life for my sake will find it.
