Deuteronomy Chapter 7

¹When ForeverOne your God shall bring you into the land where you go to possess it, and shall throw out many nations before you, the Hittite, and the Girgashite, and the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, seven nations greater and mightier than you; ²and when ForeverOne your God shall deliver them up before you, and you shall strike them; then you shall utterly destroy them: you shall make no covenant with them, nor show mercy to them; ³neither shall you make marriages with them; your daughter you shall not give to his son, nor shall you take his daughter for your son.

⁴For he will turn away your son from following me, that they may serve other Gods: so the anger of ForeverOne would be kindled against you, and he would destroy you quickly.

⁵But you shall deal with them like this: you shall break down their altars, and dash their pillars in pieces, and cut down their Asherim, and burn their engraved images with fire.

⁶For you are a holy people to ForeverOne your God: ForeverOne your God has chosen you to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples who are on the face of the earth.

⁷ForeverOne didn't set his love on you, nor choose you, because you were more in number than any people; for you were the fewest of all peoples: ⁸but because ForeverOne loves you, and because he would keep the oath which he swore to your fathers, has ForeverOne brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

⁹Know therefore that ForeverOne your God, he is God, the faithful God, who keeps covenant and loving kindness with them who love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations, ¹⁰and repays those who hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him who hates him, he will repay him to his face.

¹¹You shall therefore keep the commandment, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which I command you today, to do them.

Ezekiel Chapter 40

⁴⁴Outside of the inner gate were rooms for the singers in the inner court, which was at the side of the north gate; and their prospect was toward the south; one at the side of the east gate having the prospect toward the north.

⁴⁵He said to me, This room, whose prospect is toward the south, is for the priests, the keepers of the duty of the house; ⁴⁶and the room whose prospect is toward the north is for the priests, the keepers of the duty of the altar: these are the sons of Zadok, who from among the sons of Levi come near to ForeverOne to minister to him.

⁴⁷He measured the court, one hundred cubits long, and a hundred cubits wide, foursquare; and the altar was before the house.

⁴⁸Then he brought me to the porch of the house, and measured each post of the porch, five cubits on this side, and five cubits on that side: and the width of the gate was three cubits on this side, and three cubits on that side.

⁴⁹The length of the porch was twenty cubits, and the width eleven cubits; even by the steps by which they went up to it: and there were pillars by the posts, one on this side, and another on that side.

Ezekiel Chapter 41

¹He brought me to the temple, and measured the posts, six cubits wide on the one side, and six cubits wide on the other side, which was the width of the tent.

²The width of the entrance was ten cubits; and the sides of the entrance were five cubits on the one side, and five cubits on the other side: and he measured its length, forty cubits, and the width, twenty cubits.

³Then went he inward, and measured each post of the entrance, two cubits; and the entrance, six cubits; and the width of the entrance, seven cubits.

⁴He measured its length, twenty cubits, and the width, twenty cubits, before the temple: and he said to me, This is the most holy place.

⁵Then he measured the wall of the house, six cubits; and the width of every side room, four cubits, all around the house on every side.

⁶The side rooms were in three stories, one over another, and thirty in order; and they entered into the wall which belonged to the house for the side rooms all around, that they might have hold [there], and not have hold in the wall of the house.

⁷The side rooms were broader as they encompassed [the house] higher and higher; for the encompassing of the house went higher and higher around the house: therefore the width of the house [continued] upward; and so one went up [from] the lowest [room] to the highest by the middle [room].

⁸I saw also that the house had a raised base all around: the foundations of the side rooms were a full reed of six great cubits.

⁹The thickness of the wall, which was for the side rooms, on the outside, was five cubits: and what was left was the place of the side rooms that belonged to the house.

¹⁰Between the rooms was a width of twenty cubits around the house on every side.

¹¹The doors of the side rooms were toward [the place] that was left, one door toward the north, and another door toward the south: and the width of the place that was left was five cubits all around.

¹²The building that was before the separate place at the side toward the west was seventy cubits wide; and the wall of the building was five cubits thick all around, and its length ninety cubits.

¹³So he measured the house, one hundred cubits long; and the separate place, and the building, with its walls, one hundred cubits long; ¹⁴also the width of the face of the house, and of the separate place toward the east, one hundred cubits.

¹⁵He measured the length of the building before the separate place which was at its back, and its galleries on the one side and on the other side, one hundred cubits; and the inner temple, and the porches of the court; ¹⁶the thresholds, and the closed windows, and the galleries around on their three stories, over against the threshold, with wood ceilings all around, and [from] the ground up to the windows, (now the windows were covered), ¹⁷to [the space] above the door, even to the inner house, and outside, and by all the wall all around inside and outside, by measure.

¹⁸It was made with cherubim and palm trees; and a palm tree was between cherub and cherub, and every cherub had two faces; ¹⁹so that there was the face of a man toward the palm tree on the one side, and the face of a young lion toward the palm tree on the other side. [thus was it] made through all the house all around: ²⁰from the ground to above the door were cherubim and palm trees made: thus was the wall of the temple.

Proverbs Chapter 28

¹²When the righteous triumph, there is great glory; but when the wicked rise, men hide themselves.

¹³He who conceals his sins doesn't prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.

¹⁴Blessed is the man who always fears; but one who hardens his heart falls into trouble.

¹⁵As a roaring lion or a charging bear, so is a wicked ruler over helpless people.

¹⁶A tyrannical ruler lacks judgment. One who hates ill-gotten gain will have long days.

¹⁷A man who is tormented by life blood will be a fugitive until death; no one will support him.

¹⁸Whoever walks blamelessly is kept safe; but one with perverse ways will fall suddenly.

¹⁹One who works his land will have an abundance of food; but one who chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty.

²⁰A faithful man is rich with blessings; but one who is eager to be rich will not go unpunished.

²¹To show partiality is not good; yet a man will do wrong for a piece of bread.

²²A stingy man hurries after riches, and doesn't know that poverty waits for him.

²³One who rebukes a man will afterward find more favor than one who flatters with the tongue.

²⁴Whoever robs his father or his mother, and says, "It's not wrong." He is a partner with a destroyer.

²⁵One who is greedy stirs up strife; but one who trusts in ForeverOne will prosper.

²⁶One who trusts in himself is a fool; but one who walks in wisdom is kept safe.

²⁷One who gives to the poor has no lack; but one who closes his eyes will have many curses.

²⁸When the wicked rise, men hide themselves; but when they perish, the righteous thrive.

Proverbs Chapter 29

¹He who is often rebuked and stiffens his neck will be destroyed suddenly, with no remedy.

²When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people groan.

³Whoever loves wisdom brings joy to his father; but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth.

⁴The king by justice makes the land stable, but he who takes bribes tears it down.

⁵A man who flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his feet.

⁶An evil man is snared by his sin, but the righteous can sing and be glad.

⁷The righteous care about justice for the poor. The wicked aren't concerned about knowledge.

⁸Mockers stir up a city, but wise men turn away anger.

⁹If a wise man goes to court with a foolish man, the fool rages or scoffs, and there is no peace.

¹⁰The bloodthirsty hate a man of integrity; and they seek the life of the upright.

Hebrews Chapter 10

¹For the law, having a shadow of the good to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect those who draw near.

²Or else wouldn't they have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having been once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins?

³But in those sacrifices there is a yearly reminder of sins.

⁴For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins.

⁵So when he comes into the world, he says, "You didn't desire sacrifice and offering, but you prepared a body for me.

⁶You had no pleasure in whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin.

⁷Then I said, 'Behold, I have come (in the scroll of the book it is written of me) to do your will, O God.'" ⁸Previously saying, "Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you didn't desire, neither had pleasure in them" (those which are offered according to the law), ⁹then he has said, "Behold, I have come to do your will." He takes away the first, that he may establish the second, ¹⁰by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus AnointedOne once for all.

¹¹Every priest indeed stands day by day serving and often offering the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins, ¹²but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, ¹³from that time waiting until his enemies are made the footstool of his feet.

¹⁴For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

¹⁵The Holy Spirit also testifies to us, for after saying, ¹⁶"This is the covenant that I will make with them: 'After those days,' says ForeverOne, 'I will put my laws on their heart, I will also write them on their mind;'" then he says, ¹⁷"I will remember their sins and their iniquities no more." ¹⁸Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

¹⁹Having therefore, brothers, boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus, ²⁰by the way which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh, ²¹and having a great priest over God's house, ²²let's draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and having our body washed with pure water, ²³let's hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful.

²⁴Let's consider how to provoke one another to love and good actions, ²⁵not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
