Numbers 14:26-39

14 verses

Numbers Chapter 14

26ForeverOne spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, 27"How long [shall I bear] with this evil congregation, that murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.

28Tell them, 'As I live, says ForeverOne, surely as you have spoken in my ears, so will I do to you: 29your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness; and all who were counted of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, who have murmured against me, 30surely you won't enter the land, concerning which I swore that I would make you dwell in it, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

31But your little ones, that you said should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which you have rejected.

32But as for you, your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness.

33Your children shall be wanderers in the wilderness forty years, and shall bear your prostitution, until your dead bodies be consumed in the wilderness.

34After the number of the days in which you spied out the land, even forty days, for every day a year, you will bear your iniquities, even forty years, and you will know my alienation.' 35I, ForeverOne, have spoken, surely this will I do to all this evil congregation, who are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die." 36The men, whom Moses sent to spy out the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up an evil report against the land, 37even those men who brought an evil report of the land, died by the plague before ForeverOne.

38But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, remained alive of those men who went to spy out the land.

39Moses told these words to all the children of Israel: and the people mourned greatly.

Jeremiah 35:8-36:8

20 verses

Jeremiah Chapter 35

8We have obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, in all that he commanded us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, or our daughters; 9nor to build houses for us to dwell in; neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed: 10but we have lived in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.

11But when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, we said, Come and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians; so we dwell at Jerusalem.

12Then came the word of ForeverOne to Jeremiah, saying, 13Thus says ForeverOne of Armies, the God of Israel: Go, and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will you not receive instruction to listen to my words? says ForeverOne.

14The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons, not to drink wine, are performed; and to this day they drink none, for they obey their father's commandment: but I have spoken to you, rising up early and speaking; and you have not listened to me.

15I have sent also to you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and don't go after other gods to serve them, and you shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but you have not inclined your ear, nor listened to me.

16Because the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father which he commanded them, but this people has not listened to me; 17therefore thus says ForeverOne, the God of Armies, the God of Israel: Behold, I will bring on Judah and on all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them; because I have spoken to them, but they have not heard; and I have called to them, but they have not answered.

18Jeremiah said to the house of the Rechabites, Thus says ForeverOne of Armies, the God of Israel: Because you have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according to all that he commanded you; 19therefore thus says ForeverOne of Armies, the God of Israel: Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me forever.

Jeremiah Chapter 36

1In the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from ForeverOne, saying, 2Take a scroll of a book, and write in it all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah, even to this day.

3It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do to them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.

4Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah; and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of ForeverOne, which he had spoken to him, on a scroll of a book.

5Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I am shut up; I can't go into the house of ForeverOne: 6therefore you go, and read in the scroll, which you have written from my mouth, the words of ForeverOne in the ears of the people in ForeverOne's house on the fast day; and also you shall read them in the ears of all Judah who come out of their cities.

7It may be they will present their supplication before ForeverOne, and will return everyone from his evil way; for great is the anger and the wrath that ForeverOne has pronounced against this people.

8Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading in the book the words of ForeverOne in ForeverOne's house.

Section 3

Psalm 98-101

34 verses

Psalm 98

A Psalm.

1Sing to ForeverOne a new song, for he has done marvelous things! His right hand, and his holy arm, have worked salvation for him.

2ForeverOne has made known his salvation. He has openly shown his righteousness in the sight of the nations.

3He has remembered his loving kindness and his faithfulness toward the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

4Make a joyful noise to ForeverOne, all the earth! Burst out and sing for joy, yes, sing praises!

5Sing praises to ForeverOne with the harp, with the harp and the voice of melody.

6With trumpets and sound of the ram's horn, make a joyful noise before the King, ForeverOne.

7Let the sea roar with its fullness; the world, and those who dwell there.

8Let the rivers clap their hands. Let the mountains sing for joy together.

9Let them sing before ForeverOne, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with equity.

Psalm 99

1ForeverOne reigns! Let the peoples tremble. He sits enthroned among the cherubim. Let the earth be moved.

2ForeverOne is great in Zion. He is high above all the peoples.

3Let them praise your great and awesome name. He is Holy!

4The King's strength also loves justice. You do establish equity. You execute justice and righteousness in Jacob.

5Exalt ForeverOne our God. Worship at his footstool. He is Holy!

6Moses and Aaron were among his priests, Samuel among those who call on his name; they called on ForeverOne, and he answered them.

7He spoke to them in the pillar of cloud. They kept his testimonies, the statute that he gave them.

8You answered them, ForeverOne our God. You are a God who forgave them, although you took vengeance for their doings.

9Exalt ForeverOne, our God. Worship at his holy hill, for ForeverOne, our God, is holy!

Psalm 100

A Psalm of thanksgiving.

1Shout for joy to ForeverOne, all you lands!

2Serve ForeverOne with gladness. Come before his presence with singing.

3Know that ForeverOne, he is God. It is he who has made us, and we are his. We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

4Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, and bless his name.

5For ForeverOne is good. His loving kindness endures forever, his faithfulness to all generations.

Psalm 101

A Psalm by David.

1I will sing of loving kindness and justice. To you, ForeverOne, I will sing praises.

2I will be careful to live a blameless life. When will you come to me? I will walk within my house with a blameless heart.

3I will set no vile thing before my eyes. I hate the deeds of faithless men. They will not cling to me.

4A perverse heart will be far from me. I will have nothing to do with evil.

5I will silence whoever secretly slanders his neighbor. I won't tolerate one who is haughty and conceited.

6My eyes will be on the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me. He who walks in a perfect way, he will serve me.

7He who practices deceit won't dwell within my house. He who speaks falsehood won't be established before my eyes.

8Morning by morning, I will destroy all the wicked of the land; to cut off all the workers of iniquity from ForeverOne's city.

Section 4

1 Corinthians 15:1-34

34 verses

1 Corinthians Chapter 15

1Now I declare to you, brothers, the Good News which I preached to you, which also you received, in which you also stand, 2by which also you are saved, if you hold firmly the word which I preached to you- unless you believed in vain.

3For I delivered to you first of all what I also received: that the AnointedOne died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.

6Then he appeared to over five hundred brothers at once, most of whom remain until now, but some have also fallen asleep.

7Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8and last of all, as to the child born at the wrong time, he appeared to me also.

9For I am the least of the apostles, who is not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the assembly of God.

10But by the grace of God I am what I am. His grace which was given to me was not futile, but I worked more than all of them; yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

11Whether then it is I or they, so we preach, and so you believed.

12Now if the AnointedOne is preached, that he has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?

13But if there is no resurrection of the dead, neither has the AnointedOne been raised.

14If the AnointedOne has not been raised, then our preaching is empty, and your faith also is empty.

15So, we are then false witnesses of God, because we testified about God that he raised up the AnointedOne. He didn't raise him up if the dead aren't ever raised.

16For if the dead aren't raised, neither has the AnointedOne been raised.

17If the AnointedOne has not been raised, your faith is useless; you are still in your sins.

18Then they also who are fallen asleep in the AnointedOne have perished.

19If we have only hoped in the AnointedOne in this life, we are of all men most pitiable.

20But now the AnointedOne has been raised from the dead. He became the first fruits of those who are asleep.

21For since death came by man, the resurrection of the dead also came by man.

22For as in Adam all die, so also in the AnointedOne all will be made alive.

23But each in his own order: the AnointedOne the first fruits, then those who are the AnointedOne's, at his coming.

24Then the end comes, when he will deliver up the Kingdom to God, even the Father, when he will have abolished all rule and all authority and power.

25For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.

26The last enemy that will be abolished is death.

27For, "He put all things in subjection under his feet." But when he says, "All things are put in subjection", it is evident that he is excepted who subjected all things to him.

28When all things have been subjected to him, then the Son will also himself be subjected to him who subjected all things to him, that God may be all in all.

29Or else what will they do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead aren't raised at all, then why are they baptized for the dead?

30Why do we also stand in jeopardy every hour?

31I affirm, by the boasting in you which I have in AnointedOne Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

32If I fought with animals at Ephesus for human purposes, what does it profit me? If the dead are not raised, then "let's eat and drink, for tomorrow we die." 33Don't be deceived! "Evil companionships corrupt good morals." 34Wake up righteously, and don't sin, for some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.
