Numbers Chapter 1

34Of the children of Manasseh, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war; 35those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Manasseh, were thirty-two thousand two hundred.

36Of the children of Benjamin, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war; 37those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Benjamin, were thirty-five thousand four hundred.

38Of the children of Dan, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war; 39those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Dan, were sixty-two thousand seven hundred.

40Of the children of Asher, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war; 41those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Asher, were forty-one thousand five hundred.

Jeremiah 4:27-5:18

23 verses

Jeremiah Chapter 4

27For thus says ForeverOne, "The whole land shall be a desolation; yet will I not make a full end.

28For this the earth will mourn, and the heavens above be black; because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and I have not repented, neither will I turn back from it." 29Every city flees for the noise of the horsemen and archers; they go into the thickets, and climb up on the rocks: every city is forsaken, and not a man dwells there.

30You, when you are made desolate, what will you do? Though you clothe yourself with scarlet, though you deck you with ornaments of gold, though you enlarge your eyes with paint, in vain do you make yourself beautiful; [your] lovers despise you, they seek your life.

31For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, the anguish as of her who produces her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, who gasps for breath, who spreads her hands, [saying], "Woe is me now! For my soul faints before the murderers."

Jeremiah Chapter 5

1"Run back and forth through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places of it, if you can find a man, if there are any who does justly, who seeks truth; and I will pardon her.

2Though they say, 'As ForeverOne lives;' surely they swear falsely." 3O ForeverOne, don't your eyes look on truth? You have stricken them, but they were not grieved. You have consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction. They have made their faces harder than a rock. They have refused to return.

4Then I said, "Surely these are poor. They are foolish; for they don't know the way of ForeverOne, nor the law of their God.

5I will go to the great men, and will speak to them; for they know the way of ForeverOne, and the law of their God." But these with one accord have broken the yoke, and burst the bonds.

6Therefore a lion out of the forest shall kill them, a wolf of the evenings shall destroy them, a leopard shall watch against their cities; everyone who goes out there shall be torn in pieces; because their transgressions are many, [and] their backsliding is increased.

7"How can I pardon you? Your children have forsaken me, and sworn by what are no gods. When I had fed them to the full, they committed adultery, and assembled themselves in troops at the prostitutes' houses.

8They were as fed horses roaming at large: everyone neighed after his neighbor's wife.

9Shouldn't I punish them for these things?" says ForeverOne; "and shouldn't my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

10"Go up on her walls, and destroy; but don't make a full end. Take away her branches; for they are not ForeverOne's.

11For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have dealt very treacherously against me," says ForeverOne.

12They have denied ForeverOne, and said, "It is not he; neither shall evil come on us; neither shall we see sword nor famine.

13The prophets shall become wind, and the word is not in them. Thus shall it be done to them." 14Therefore thus says ForeverOne, the God of Armies, "Because you speak this word, behold, I will make my words in your mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.

15Behold, I will bring a nation on you from far, house of Israel," says ForeverOne. "It is a mighty nation. It is an ancient nation, a nation whose language you don't know, neither understand what they say.

16Their quiver is an open tomb, they are all mighty men.

17They shall eat up your harvest, and your bread, [which] your sons and your daughters should eat. They shall eat up your flocks and your herds. They shall eat up your vines and your fig trees. They shall beat down your fortified cities, in which you trust, with the sword.

18"But even in those days," says ForeverOne, "I will not make a full end with you.

Psalm 52-54

25 verses

Psalm 52

For the Chief Musician. A contemplation by David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, "David has come to Abimelech's house." 1Why do you boast of mischief, mighty man? God's loving kindness endures continually.

2Your tongue plots destruction, like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

3You love evil more than good, lying rather than speaking the truth. Selah.

4You love all devouring words, you deceitful tongue.

5God will likewise destroy you forever. He will take you up, and pluck you out of your tent, and root you out of the land of the living. Selah.

6The righteous also will see it, and fear, and laugh at him, saying, 7"Behold, this is the man who didn't make God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness." 8But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in God's house. I trust in God's loving kindness forever and ever.

9I will give you thanks forever, because you have done it. I will hope in your name, for it is good, in the presence of your saints.

Psalm 53

For the Chief Musician. To the tune of "Mahalath." A contemplation by David.

1The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, and have done abominable iniquity. There is no one who does good.

2God looks down from heaven on the children of men, to see if there are any who understood, who seek after God.

3Every one of them has gone back. They have become filthy together. There is no one who does good, no, not one.

4Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and don't call on God?

5There they were in great fear, where no fear was, for God has scattered the bones of him who encamps against you. You have put them to shame, because God has rejected them.

6Oh that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When God brings back his people from captivity, then Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

Psalm 54

For the Chief Musician. On stringed instruments. A contemplation by David, when the Ziphites came and said to Saul, "Isn't David hiding himself among us?" 1Save me, God, by your name. Vindicate me in your might.

2Hear my prayer, God. Listen to the words of my mouth.

3For strangers have risen up against me. Violent men have sought after my soul. They haven't set God before them. Selah.

4Behold, God is my helper. LordOfMine is the one who sustains my soul.

5He will repay the evil to my enemies. Destroy them in your truth.

6With a free will offering, I will sacrifice to you. I will give thanks to your name, ForeverOne, for it is good.

7For he has delivered me out of all trouble. My eye has seen triumph over my enemies.

Section 4

Romans 4:6-25

20 verses

Romans Chapter 4

6Even as David also pronounces blessing on the man to whom God counts righteousness apart from actions, 7"Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, whose sins are covered.

8Blessed is the man whom ForeverOne will by no means charge with sin." 9Is this blessing then pronounced on the circumcised, or on the uncircumcised also? For we say that faith was accounted to Abraham for righteousness.

10Then how was it counted? When he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.

11He received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while he was in uncircumcision, that he might be the father of all those who believe, though they might be in uncircumcision, that righteousness might also be accounted to them.

12He is the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had in uncircumcision.

13For the promise to Abraham and to his offspring that he should be heir of the world wasn't through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

14For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void, and the promise is made of no effect.

15For the law produces wrath, for where there is no law, neither is there disobedience.

16For this cause it is of faith, that it may be according to grace, to the end that the promise may be sure to all the offspring, not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all.

17As it is written, "I have made you a father of many nations." This is in the presence of him whom he believed: God, who gives life to the dead, and calls the things that are not, as though they were.

18Besides hope, Abraham in hope believed, to the end that he might become a father of many nations, according to what had been spoken, "So will your offspring be." 19Without being weakened in faith, he didn't consider his own body, already having been worn out, (he being about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah's womb.

20Yet, looking to the promise of God, he didn't waver through unbelief, but grew strong through faith, giving glory to God, 21and being fully assured that what he had promised, he was also able to perform.

22So it also was "credited to him for righteousness." 23Now it was not written that it was accounted to him for his sake alone, 24but for our sake also, to whom it will be accounted, who believe in him who raised Jesus, our Lord, from the dead, 25who was delivered up for our trespasses, and was raised for our justification.
