Exodus Chapter 39

²⁷They made the coats of fine linen of woven work for Aaron, and for his sons, ²⁸and the turban of fine linen, and the linen headbands of fine linen, and the linen breeches of fine twined linen, ²⁹and the sash of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, the work of the embroiderer, as ForeverOne commanded Moses.

³⁰They made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote on it a writing, like the engravings of a signet: "HOLY TO ForeverOne." ³¹They tied to it a lace of blue, to fasten it on the turban above, as ForeverOne commanded Moses.

³²Thus all the work of the tabernacle of the Tent of Meeting was finished. The children of Israel did according to all that ForeverOne commanded Moses; so they did.

³³They brought the tabernacle to Moses, the tent, with all its furniture, its clasps, its boards, its bars, its pillars, its sockets, ³⁴the covering of rams' skins dyed red, the covering of sea cow hides, the veil of the screen, ³⁵the ark of the testimony with its poles, the mercy seat, ³⁶the table, all its vessels, the show bread, ³⁷the pure lampstand, its lamps, even the lamps to be set in order, all its vessels, the oil for the light, ³⁸the golden altar, the anointing oil, the sweet incense, the screen for the door of the Tent, ³⁹the bronze altar, its grating of brass, its poles, all of its vessels, the basin and its base, ⁴⁰the hangings of the court, its pillars, its sockets, the screen for the gate of the court, its cords, its pins, all the instruments of the service of the tabernacle, for the Tent of Meeting, ⁴¹the finely worked garments for ministering in the holy place, the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest's office.

⁴²According to all that ForeverOne commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did all the work.

⁴³Moses saw all the work, and behold, they had done it as ForeverOne had commanded, even so had they done it: and Moses blessed them.

2 Kings Chapter 18

²¹Now, behold, you trust in the staff of this bruised reed, even in Egypt. If a man leans on it, it will go into his hand, and pierce it. So is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who trust on him.

²²But if you tell me, 'We trust in ForeverOne our God;' isn't that he whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah has taken away, and has said to Judah and to Jerusalem, 'You shall worship before this altar in Jerusalem?' ²³Now therefore, please give pledges to my master the king of Assyria, and I will give you two thousand horses, if you are able on your part to set riders on them.

²⁴Then how can you turn away the face of one captain of the least of my master's servants, and put your trust in Egypt for chariots and for horsemen?

²⁵Have I now come up without ForeverOne against this place to destroy it? ForeverOne said to me, 'Go up against this land, and destroy it.'"'" ²⁶Then Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, and Shebnah, and Joah, said to Rabshakeh, "Please speak to your servants in the Syrian language; for we understand it. Don't speak with us in the Jews' language, in the hearing of the people who are on the wall." ²⁷But Rabshakeh said to them, "Has my master sent me to your master, and to you, to speak these words? Hasn't he sent me to the men who sit on the wall, to eat their own dung, and to drink their own water with you?" ²⁸Then Rabshakeh stood, and cried with a loud voice in the Jews' language, and spoke, saying, "Hear the word of the great king, the king of Assyria.

²⁹Thus says the king, 'Don't let Hezekiah deceive you; for he will not be able to deliver you out of his hand.

³⁰Neither let Hezekiah make you trust in ForeverOne, saying, "ForeverOne will surely deliver us, and this city shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria." ³¹Don't listen to Hezekiah.' For thus says the king of Assyria, 'Make your peace with me, and come out to me; and everyone of you eat of his vine, and everyone of his fig tree, and everyone drink the waters of his own cistern; ³²until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of olive trees and of honey, that you may live, and not die. Don't listen to Hezekiah, when he persuades you, saying, "ForeverOne will deliver us." ³³Has any of the gods of the nations ever delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?

³⁴Where are the gods of Hamath, and of Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivvah? Have they delivered Samaria out of my hand?

³⁵Who are they among all the gods of the countries, that have delivered their country out of my hand, that ForeverOne should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?'" ³⁶But the people held their peace, and answered him not a word; for the king's commandment was, "Don't answer him." ³⁷Then Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, who was over the household, came with Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph the recorder, to Hezekiah with their clothes torn, and told him the words of Rabshakeh.

2 Kings Chapter 19

¹When king Hezekiah heard it, he tore his clothes and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of ForeverOne.

²He sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.

³They said to him, "Thus says Hezekiah, 'Today is a day of trouble, of rebuke, and of rejection; for the children have come to the point of birth, and there is no strength to deliver them.

⁴It may be ForeverOne your God will hear all the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master has sent to defy the living God, and will rebuke the words which ForeverOne your God has heard. Therefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left.'"

Job Chapter 12

¹Then Job answered, ²"No doubt, but you are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.

³But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you. Yes, who doesn't know such things as these?

⁴I am like one who is a joke to his neighbor, I, who called on God, and he answered. The just, the blameless man is a joke.

⁵In the thought of him who is at ease there is contempt for misfortune. It is ready for them whose foot slips.

⁶The tents of robbers prosper. Those who provoke God are secure, who carry their god in their hands.

⁷"But ask the animals, now, and they shall teach you; the birds of the sky, and they shall tell you.

⁸Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach you. The fish of the sea shall declare to you.

⁹Who doesn't know that in all these, the hand of ForeverOne has done this, ¹⁰in whose hand is the life of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind?

¹¹Doesn't the ear try words, even as the palate tastes its food?

¹²With aged men is wisdom, in length of days understanding.

¹³"With Him is wisdom and might. He has counsel and understanding.

¹⁴Behold, he breaks down, and it can't be built again. He imprisons a man, and there can be no release.

¹⁵Behold, he withholds the waters, and they dry up. Again, he sends them out, and they overturn the earth.

¹⁶With him is strength and wisdom. The deceived and the deceiver are his.

¹⁷He leads counselors away stripped. He makes judges fools.

¹⁸He loosens the bond of kings. He binds their waist with a belt.

¹⁹He leads priests away stripped, and overthrows the mighty.

²⁰He removes the speech of those who are trusted, and takes away the understanding of the elders.

²¹He pours contempt on princes, and loosens the belt of the strong.

²²He uncovers deep things out of darkness, and brings out to light the shadow of death.

²³He increases the nations, and he destroys them. He enlarges the nations, and he leads them captive.

²⁴He takes away understanding from the chiefs of the people of the earth, and causes them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.

²⁵They grope in the dark without light. He makes them stagger like a drunken man.

John Chapter 18

¹When Jesus had spoken these words, he went out with his disciples over the brook Kidron, where there was a garden, into which he and his disciples entered.

²Now Judas, who betrayed him, also knew the place, for Jesus often met there with his disciples.

³Judas then, having taken a detachment of soldiers and officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons.

⁴So Jesus, knowing all the things that were happening to him, went out, and said to them, "Who are you looking for?" ⁵They answered him, "Jesus of Nazareth." Jesus said to them, "I am." Judas also, who betrayed him, was standing with them.

⁶So when he said to them "I am," they went backward, and fell to the ground.

⁷So again he asked them, "Who are you looking for?" They said, "Jesus of Nazareth." ⁸Jesus answered, "I told you that I am. So if you seek me, let these go their way," ⁹that the word might be fulfilled which he spoke, "Of those whom you have given me, I have lost none." ¹⁰So, having a sword, Simon Peter drew it, struck the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.

¹¹So Jesus said to Peter, "Put the sword into its sheath. The cup which the Father has given me, shall I not surely drink it?" ¹²So the detachment, the commanding officer, and the officers of the Jews seized Jesus and bound him, ¹³and led him to Annas first, for he was father-in-law to Caiaphas, who was high priest that year.

¹⁴Now it was Caiaphas who advised the Jews that it was expedient that one man should perish for the people.

¹⁵Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple. Now that disciple was known to the high priest, and entered in with Jesus into the court of the high priest; ¹⁶but Peter was standing at the door outside. So the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to her who kept the door, and brought in Peter.

¹⁷Then the maid who kept the door said to Peter, "Are you also one of this man's disciples?" He said, "I am not." ¹⁸Now the servants and the officers were standing there, having made a fire of coals, for it was cold. They were warming themselves. Peter was with them, standing and warming himself.
