Exodus Chapter 24

1He said to Moses, "Come up to ForeverOne, you, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship from a distance.

2Moses alone can come near to ForeverOne, but they shall not come near. The people must not go up with him." 3Moses came and told the people all the words of ForeverOne, and all the ordinances; and all the people answered with one voice, and said, "All the words which ForeverOne has spoken will we do." 4Moses wrote all the words of ForeverOne, and rose up early in the morning, and built an altar under the mountain, and twelve pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel.

5He sent young men of the children of Israel, who offered burnt offerings and sacrificed peace offerings of cattle to ForeverOne.

6Moses took half of the blood and put it in basins, and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.

7He took the book of the covenant and read it in the hearing of the people, and they said, "All that ForeverOne has spoken will we do, and be obedient." 8Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, "Look, this is the blood of the covenant, which ForeverOne has made with you concerning all these words." 9Then Moses, Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel went up.

10They saw the God of Israel. Under his feet was like a paved work of sapphire stone, like the skies for clearness.

11He didn't lay his hand on the chiefs of the children of Israel. They saw God, and ate and drank.

12ForeverOne said to Moses, "Come up to me on the mountain, and stay here, and I will give you the tablets of stone with the law and the commands that I have written, that you may teach them." 13Moses rose up with Joshua, his servant, and Moses went up onto God's Mountain.

14He said to the elders, "Wait here for us, until we return to you. Behold, Aaron and Hur are with you. Whoever is involved in a dispute can go to them." 15Moses went up on the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain.

16The glory of ForeverOne settled on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. The seventh day he called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud.

17The appearance of the glory of ForeverOne was like devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel.

18Moses entered into the midst of the cloud, and went up on the mountain; and Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.

1 Kings 15:1-30

1 Kings Chapter 15

1Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat began Abijam to reign over Judah.

2Three years reigned he in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Maacah the daughter of Abishalom.

3He walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him; and his heart was not perfect with ForeverOne his God, as the heart of David his father.

4Nevertheless for David's sake did ForeverOne his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem; 5because David did what was right in the eyes of ForeverOne, and didn't turn aside from anything that he commanded him all the days of his life, except only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.

6Now there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.

7The rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? There was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.

8Abijam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his place.

9In the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Asa to reign over Judah.

10Forty-one years reigned he in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Maacah the daughter of Abishalom.

11Asa did what was right in the eyes of ForeverOne, as David his father [had].

12He put away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.

13Also Maacah his mother he removed from being queen, because she had made an abominable image for an Asherah; and Asa cut down her image, and burned it at the brook Kidron.

14But the high places were not taken away: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect with ForeverOne all his days.

15He brought into the house of ForeverOne the things that his father had dedicated, and the things that himself had dedicated, silver, and gold, and vessels.

16There was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

17Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not allow anyone to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.

18Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of ForeverOne, and the treasures of the king's house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants; and king Asa sent them to Ben Hadad, the son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, who lived at Damascus, saying, 19"There is a treaty between me and you, between my father and your father. Behold, I have sent to you a gift of silver and gold. Go, break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me." 20Ben Hadad listened to king Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel, and struck Ijon, and Dan, and Abel Beth Maacah, and all Chinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.

21When Baasha heard of it, he left off building Ramah, and lived in Tirzah.

22Then king Asa made a proclamation to all Judah; none was exempted: and they carried away the stones of Ramah, and its timber, with which Baasha had built; and king Asa built Geba of Benjamin and Mizpah with them.

23Now the rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? But in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.

24Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father; and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place.

25Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah; and he reigned over Israel two years.

26He did what was evil in the sight of ForeverOne, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin with which he made Israel to sin.

27Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha struck him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel were laying siege to Gibbethon.

28In the third year of Asa king of Judah Baasha killed him, and reigned in his place.

29As soon as he was king, he struck all the house of Jeroboam: he didn't leave to Jeroboam any who breathed, until he had destroyed him; according to the saying of ForeverOne, which he spoke by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite; 30for the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and with which he made Israel to sin, because of his provocation with which he provoked ForeverOne, the God of Israel, to anger.

Nehemiah 9:1-15

15 verses

Nehemiah Chapter 9

1Now in the twenty-fourth day of this month the children of Israel were assembled with fasting, and with sackcloth, and earth on them.

2The offspring of Israel separated themselves from all foreigners, and stood and confessed their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers.

3They stood up in their place, and read in the book of the law of ForeverOne their God a fourth part of the day; and [another] fourth part they confessed, and worshiped ForeverOne their God.

4Then stood up on the stairs of the Levites, Jeshua, and Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, [and] Chenani, and cried with a loud voice to ForeverOne their God.

5Then the Levites, Jeshua, and Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah, [and] Pethahiah, said, "Stand up and bless ForeverOne your God from everlasting to everlasting! Bessed be your glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise!

6You are ForeverOne, even you alone. You have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their army, the earth and all things that are on it, the seas and all that is in them, and you preserve them all. The army of heaven worships you.

7You are ForeverOne, the God who chose Abram, and brought him out of Ur of the Chaldees, and gave him the name of Abraham, 8and found his heart faithful before you, and made a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite, and the Girgashite, to give it to his offspring, and have performed your words; for you are righteous.

9"You saw the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heard their cry by the Red Sea, 10and showed signs and wonders against Pharaoh, and against all his servants, and against all the people of his land; for you knew that they dealt proudly against them, and made a name for yourself, as it is this day.

11You divided the sea before them, so that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land; and you threw their pursuers into the depths, as a stone into the mighty waters.

12Moreover, in a pillar of cloud you led them by day; and in a pillar of fire by night, to give them light in the way in which they should go.

13"You came down also on Mount Sinai, and spoke with them from heaven, and gave them right ordinances and true laws, good statutes and commandments, 14and made known to them your holy Sabbath, and commanded them commandments, and statutes, and a law, by Moses your servant, 15and gave them bread from the sky for their hunger, and produced water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and commanded them that they should go in to possess the land which you had sworn to give them.

Luke 24:28-53

Luke Chapter 24

28They came near to the village where they were going, and he acted like he would go further.

29They urged him, saying, "Stay with us, for it is almost evening, and the day is almost over." He went in to stay with them.

30When he had sat down at the table with them, he took the bread and gave thanks. Breaking it, he gave some to them.

31Their eyes were opened and they recognized him, then he vanished out of their sight.

32They said to one another, "Weren't our hearts burning within us, while he spoke to us along the way, and while he opened the Scriptures to us?" 33They rose up that very hour, returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them, 34saying, "The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!" 35They related the things that happened along the way, and how he was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.

36As they said these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, "Peace be to you." 37But they were terrified and filled with fear, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.

38He said to them, "Why are you troubled? Why do doubts arise in your hearts?

39See my hands and my feet, that it is truly me. Touch me and see, for a spirit doesn't have flesh and bones, as you see that I have." 40When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.

41While they still didn't believe for joy, and wondered, he said to them, "Do you have anything here to eat?" 42They gave him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb.

43He took them, and ate in front of them.

44He said to them, "This is what I told you, while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms, concerning me must be fulfilled." 45Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures.

46He said to them, "Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the AnointedOne to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, 47and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

48You are witnesses of these things.

49Behold, I send out the promise of my Father on you. But wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high." 50He led them out as far as Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.

51While he blessed them, he withdrew from them, and was carried up into heaven.

52They worshiped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, 53and were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
