Exodus Chapter 7

²⁵Seven days were fulfilled, after ForeverOne had struck the river.

Exodus Chapter 8

¹ForeverOne spoke to Moses, Go in to Pharaoh, and tell him, "This is what ForeverOne says, 'Let my people go, that they may serve me.

²If you refuse to let them go, behold, I will plague all your borders with frogs.

³The river shall swarm with frogs, which will go up and enter your house, your bedroom, your bed, and into the house of your servants, on your people, and into your ovens, and your kneading troughs: ⁴and the frogs shall come up both on you, and on your people, and on all your servants.'" ⁵ForeverOne said to Moses, "Tell Aaron, 'Stretch out your hand with your rod over the rivers, over the streams, and over the pools, and cause frogs to come up on the land of Egypt.'" ⁶Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt.

⁷The magicians did the same thing with their enchantments, and brought up frogs on the land of Egypt.

⁸Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, "Entreat ForeverOne, that he take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may sacrifice to ForeverOne." ⁹Moses said to Pharaoh, "I give you the honor of setting the time that I should pray for you, and for your servants, and for your people, that the frogs be destroyed from you and your houses, and remain in the river only." ¹⁰He said, "Tomorrow." He said, "Be it according to your word, that you may know that there is none like ForeverOne our God.

¹¹The frogs shall depart from you, and from your houses, and from your servants, and from your people. They shall remain in the river only." ¹²Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh, and Moses cried to ForeverOne concerning the frogs which he had brought on Pharaoh.

¹³ForeverOne did according to the word of Moses, and the frogs died out of the houses, out of the courts, and out of the fields.

¹⁴They gathered them together in heaps, and the land stank.

¹⁵But when Pharaoh saw that there was a respite, he hardened his heart, and didn't listen to them, as ForeverOne had spoken.

2 Samuel Chapter 18

¹David counted the people who were with him, and set captains of thousands and captains of hundreds over them.

²David sent out the people, a third part under the hand of Joab, and a third part under the hand of Abishai the son of Zeruiah, Joab's brother, and a third part under the hand of Ittai the Gittite. The king said to the people, "I will surely go out with you myself also." ³But the people said, "You shall not go out; for if we flee away, they will not care for us; neither if half of us die, will they care for us. But you are worth ten thousand of us. Therefore now it is better that you are ready to help us out of the city." ⁴The king said to them, "I will do what seems best to you." The king stood beside the gate, and all the people went out by hundreds and by thousands.

⁵The king commanded Joab and Abishai and Ittai, saying, "Deal gently for my sake with the young man, even with Absalom." All the people heard when the king commanded all the captains concerning Absalom.

⁶So the people went out into the field against Israel: and the battle was in the forest of Ephraim.

⁷The people of Israel were struck there before the servants of David, and there was a great slaughter there that day of twenty thousand men.

⁸For the battle was there spread over the surface of all the country; and the forest devoured more people that day than the sword devoured.

⁹Absalom happened to meet the servants of David. Absalom was riding on his mule, and the mule went under the thick boughs of a great oak, and his head caught hold of the oak, and he was taken up between the sky and earth; and the mule that was under him went on.

¹⁰A certain man saw it, and told Joab, and said, "Behold, I saw Absalom hanging in an oak." ¹¹Joab said to the man who told him, "Behold, you saw it, and why didn't you strike him there to the ground? I would have given you ten pieces of silver, and a sash." ¹²The man said to Joab, "Though I should receive a thousand pieces of silver in my hand, I still wouldn't reach out my hand against the king's son; for in our hearing the king commanded you and Abishai and Ittai, saying, 'Beware that none touch the young man Absalom.' ¹³Otherwise if I had dealt falsely against his life (and there is no matter hidden from the king), then you yourself would have set yourself against me." ¹⁴Then Joab said, "I'm not going to wait like this with you." He took three darts in his hand, and thrust them through the heart of Absalom, while he was yet alive in the midst of the oak.

¹⁵Ten young men who bore Joab's armor surrounded and struck Absalom, and killed him.

¹⁶Joab blew the trumpet, and the people returned from pursuing after Israel; for Joab held back the people.

¹⁷They took Absalom, and threw him into the great pit in the forest, and raised over him a very great heap of stones. Then all Israel fled everyone to his tent.

¹⁸Now Absalom in his lifetime had taken and reared up for himself the pillar, which is in the king's dale; for he said, "I have no son to keep my name in memory." He called the pillar after his own name; and it is called Absalom's monument, to this day.

¹⁹Then Ahimaaz the son of Zadok said, "Let me now run, and bear the king news, how ForeverOne has avenged him of his enemies." ²⁰Joab said to him, "You shall not be the bearer of news today, but you shall bear news another day. But today you shall bear no news, because the king's son is dead." ²¹Then Joab said to the Cushite, "Go, tell the king what you have seen!" The Cushite bowed himself to Joab, and ran.

²²Then Ahimaaz the son of Zadok said yet again to Joab, "But come what may, please let me also run after the Cushite." Joab said, "Why do you want to run, my son, since that you will have no reward for the news?" ²³"But come what may," he said, "I will run." He said to him, "Run!" Then Ahimaaz ran by the way of the Plain, and outran the Cushite.

2 Chronicles Chapter 35

²⁰After all this, when Josiah had prepared the temple, Neco king of Egypt went up to fight against Carchemish by the Euphrates: and Josiah went out against him.

²¹But he sent ambassadors to him, saying, "What have I to do with you, you king of Judah? I don't come against you today, but against the house with which I have war. God has commanded me to make haste. Beware that it is God who is with me, that he not destroy you." ²²Nevertheless Josiah would not turn his face from him, but disguised himself, that he might fight with him, and didn't listen to the words of Neco from the mouth of God, and came to fight in the valley of Megiddo.

²³The archers shot at king Josiah; and the king said to his servants, "Take me away, because I am seriously wounded!" ²⁴So his servants took him out of the chariot, and put him in the second chariot that he had, and brought him to Jerusalem; and he died, and was buried in the tombs of his fathers. All Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah.

²⁵Jeremiah lamented for Josiah: and all the singing men and singing women spoke of Josiah in their lamentations to this day; and they made them an ordinance in Israel: and behold, they are written in the lamentations.

²⁶Now the rest of the acts of Josiah, and his good deeds, according to what is written in the law of ForeverOne, ²⁷and his acts, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.

2 Chronicles Chapter 36

¹Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him king in his father's place in Jerusalem.

²Joahaz was twenty-three years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months in Jerusalem.

³The king of Egypt deposed him at Jerusalem, and fined the land one hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.

⁴The king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and changed his name to Jehoiakim. Neco took Joahaz his brother, and carried him to Egypt.

⁵Jehoiakim was Twenty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and he did what was evil in the sight of ForeverOne his God.

⁶Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon.

⁷Nebuchadnezzar also carried of the vessels of the house of ForeverOne to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon.

⁸Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and his abominations which he did, and what was found in him, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his place.

⁹Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did what was evil in the sight of ForeverOne.

Luke Chapter 9

³⁷On the next day, when they had come down from the mountain, a great multitude met him.

³⁸Behold, a man from the crowd called out, saying, "Teacher, I beg you to look at my son, for he is my only child.

³⁹Behold, a spirit takes him, he suddenly cries out, and it convulses him so that he foams, and it hardly departs from him, bruising him severely.

⁴⁰I begged your disciples to cast it out, and they couldn't." ⁴¹Jesus answered, "Faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you and bear with you? Bring your son here." ⁴²While he was still coming, the demon threw him down and convulsed him violently. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, healed the boy, and gave him back to his father.

⁴³They were all astonished at the majesty of God. But while all were marveling at all the things which Jesus did, he said to his disciples, ⁴⁴"Let these words sink into your ears, for the Son of Man will be delivered up into the hands of men." ⁴⁵But they didn't understand this saying. It was concealed from them, that they should not perceive it, and they were afraid to ask him about this saying.

⁴⁶An argument arose among them about which of them was the greatest.

⁴⁷Jesus, perceiving the reasoning of their hearts, took a little child, and set him by his side, ⁴⁸and said to them, "Whoever receives this little child in my name receives me. Whoever receives me receives him who sent me. For whoever is least among you all, this one will be great." ⁴⁹John answered, "Master, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we forbade him, because he doesn't follow with us." ⁵⁰Jesus said to him, "Don't forbid him, for he who is not against us is for us." ⁵¹It came to pass, when the days were near that he should be taken up, he intently set his face to go to Jerusalem ⁵²and sent messengers before his face. They went and entered into a village of the Samaritans, so as to prepare for him.

⁵³They didn't receive him, because he was traveling with his face set toward Jerusalem.

⁵⁴When his disciples, James and John, saw this, they said, "Lord, do you want us to command fire to come down from the sky and destroy them, just as Elijah did?" ⁵⁵But he turned and rebuked them, "You don't know of what kind of spirit you are.

⁵⁶For the Son of Man didn't come to destroy men's lives, but to save them." They went to another village.

⁵⁷As they went on the way, a certain man said to him, "I want to follow you wherever you go, Lord." ⁵⁸Jesus said to him, "The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head." ⁵⁹He said to another, "Follow me!" But he said, "Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father." ⁶⁰But Jesus said to him, "Leave the dead to bury their own dead, but you go and announce God's Kingdom." ⁶¹Another also said, "I want to follow you, Lord, but first allow me to say good-bye to those who are at my house." ⁶²But Jesus said to him, "No one, having put his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for God's Kingdom."
