Exodus Chapter 7

8ForeverOne spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, 9"When Pharaoh speaks to you, saying, 'Perform a miracle!' then you shall tell Aaron, 'Take your rod, and throw it down before Pharaoh, and it will become a serpent.'" 10Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh, and they did so, as ForeverOne had commanded: and Aaron threw down his rod before Pharaoh and before his servants, and it became a serpent.

11Then Pharaoh also called for the wise men and the sorcerers. They also, the magicians of Egypt, did the same thing with their enchantments.

12For they each threw down their rods, and they became serpents: but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods.

13Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he didn't listen to them; as ForeverOne had spoken.

14ForeverOne said to Moses, "Pharaoh's heart is stubborn. He refuses to let the people go.

15Go to Pharaoh in the morning. Behold, he goes out to the water; and you shall stand by the river's bank to meet him; and the rod which was turned to a serpent you shall take in your hand.

16You shall tell him, 'ForeverOne, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to you, saying, "Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness:" and behold, until now you haven't listened.

17Thus says ForeverOne, "In this you shall know that I am ForeverOne. Behold, I will strike with the rod that is in my hand on the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood.

18The fish that are in the river shall die, and the river shall become foul; and the Egyptians shall loathe to drink water from the river."'" 19ForeverOne said to Moses, "Tell Aaron, 'Take your rod, and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt, over their rivers, over their streams, and over their pools, and over all their ponds of water, that they may become blood; and there shall be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood and in vessels of stone.'" 20Moses and Aaron did so, as ForeverOne commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and struck the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.

21The fish that were in the river died; and the river became foul, and the Egyptians couldn't drink water from the river; and the blood was throughout all the land of Egypt.

22The magicians of Egypt did the same thing with their enchantments; and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he didn't listen to them; as ForeverOne had spoken.

23Pharaoh turned and went into his house. He didn't take even this to heart.

24All the Egyptians dug around the river for water to drink; for they couldn't drink the water of the river.

2 Samuel Chapter 17

8Hushai said moreover, "You know your father and his men, that they are mighty men, and they are fierce in their minds, like a bear robbed of her cubs in the field. Your father is a man of war, and will not lodge with the people.

9Behold, he is now hidden in some pit, or in some other place. When some of them have fallen at the first, that whoever hears it will say, 'There is a slaughter among the people who follow Absalom!' 10Even he who is valiant, whose heart is as the heart of a lion, will utterly melt; for all Israel knows that your father is a mighty man, and those who are with him are valiant men.

11But I counsel that all Israel be gathered together to you, from Dan even to Beersheba, as the sand that is by the sea for multitude; and that you go to battle in your own person.

12So shall we come on him in some place where he shall be found, and we will light on him as the dew falls on the ground; and of him and of all the men who are with him we will not leave so much as one.

13Moreover, if he be gone into a city, then shall all Israel bring ropes to that city, and we will draw it into the river, until there isn't one small stone found there." 14Absalom and all the men of Israel said, "The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel." For ForeverOne had ordained to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that ForeverOne might bring evil on Absalom.

15Then Hushai said to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, "Ahithophel counseled Absalom and the elders of Israel that way; and I have counseled this way.

16Now therefore send quickly, and tell David, saying, 'Don't lodge this night at the fords of the wilderness, but by all means pass over; lest the king be swallowed up, and all the people who are with him.'" 17Now Jonathan and Ahimaaz were staying by En Rogel; and a female servant used to go and tell them; and they went and told king David. For they might not be seen to enter the city.

18But a boy saw them, and told Absalom. Then they both went away quickly, and came to the house of a man in Bahurim, who had a well in his court; and they went down there.

19The woman took and spread the covering over the well's mouth, and spread out bruised grain on it; and nothing was known.

20Absalom's servants came to the woman to the house; and they said, "Where are Ahimaaz and Jonathan?" The woman said to them, "They have gone over the brook of water." When they had sought and could not find them, they returned to Jerusalem.

21After they had departed they came up out of the well, and went and told king David; and they said to David, "Arise and pass quickly over the water; for thus has Ahithophel counseled against you." 22Then David arose, and all the people who were with him, and they passed over the Jordan. By the morning light there lacked not one of them who had not gone over the Jordan.

23When Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his donkey, and arose, and went home, to his city, and set his house in order, and hanged himself; and he died, and was buried in the tomb of his father.

24Then David came to Mahanaim. Absalom passed over the Jordan, he and all the men of Israel with him.

25Absalom set Amasa over the army instead of Joab. Now Amasa was the son of a man, whose name was Ithra the Israelite, who went in to Abigail the daughter of Nahash, sister to Zeruiah, Joab's mother.

26Israel and Absalom encamped in the land of Gilead.

27When David had come to Mahanaim, Shobi the son of Nahash of Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and Machir the son of Ammiel of Lodebar, and Barzillai the Gileadite of Rogelim, 28brought beds, and basins, and earthen vessels, and wheat, and barley, and meal, and parched [grain], and beans, and lentils, and parched [pulse], 29and honey, and butter, and sheep, and cheese of the herd, for David, and for the people who were with him, to eat: for they said, "The people are hungry, and weary, and thirsty, in the wilderness."

2 Chronicles 35:7-19

2 Chronicles Chapter 35

7Josiah gave to the children of the people, of the flock, lambs and young goats, all of them for the Passover offerings, to all who were present, to the number of thirty thousand, and three thousand bulls: these were of the king's substance.

8His princes gave for a freewill offering to the people, to the priests, and to the Levites. Hilkiah and Zechariah and Jehiel, the rulers of the house of God, gave to the priests for the Passover offerings two thousand and six hundred [small livestock], and three hundred head of cattle.

9Conaniah also, and Shemaiah and Nethanel, his brothers, and Hashabiah and Jeiel and Jozabad, the chiefs of the Levites, gave to the Levites for the Passover offerings five thousand [small livestock], and five hundred head of cattle.

10So the service was prepared, and the priests stood in their place, and the Levites by their divisions, according to the king's commandment.

11They killed the Passover, and the priests sprinkled [the blood which they received] of their hand, and the Levites flayed them.

12They removed the burnt offerings, that they might give them according to the divisions of the fathers' houses of the children of the people, to offer to ForeverOne, as it is written in the book of Moses. They did the same with the cattle.

13They roasted the Passover with fire according to the ordinance: and the holy offerings boiled they in pots, and in caldrons, and in pans, and carried them quickly to all the children of the people.

14Afterward they prepared for themselves, and for the priests, because the priests the sons of Aaron [were busied] in offering the burnt offerings and the fat until night: therefore the Levites prepared for themselves, and for the priests the sons of Aaron.

15The singers the sons of Asaph were in their place, according to the commandment of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun the king's seer; and the porters were at every gate: they didn't need to depart from their service; for their brothers the Levites prepared for them.

16So all the service of ForeverOne was prepared the same day, to keep the Passover, and to offer burnt offerings on the altar of ForeverOne, according to the commandment of king Josiah.

17The children of Israel who were present kept the Passover at that time, and the feast of unleavened bread seven days.

18There was no Passover like that kept in Israel from the days of Samuel the prophet; neither did any of the kings of Israel keep such a Passover as Josiah kept, and the priests, and the Levites, and all Judah and Israel who were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

19In the eighteenth year of the reign of Josiah was this Passover kept.

Luke Chapter 9

18As he was praying alone, the disciples were with him, and he asked them, "Who do the multitudes say that I am?" 19They answered, "'John the Baptizer,' but others say, 'Elijah,' and others, that one of the old prophets has risen." 20He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Peter answered, "The AnointedOne of God." 21But he warned them, and commanded them to tell this to no one, 22saying, "The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up." 23He said to all, "If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.

24For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, will save it.

25For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits his own self?

26For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed, when he comes in his glory, and the glory of the Father, and of the holy angels.

27But I tell you the truth: There are some of those who stand here who will in no way taste of death until they see God's Kingdom." 28About eight days after these sayings, he took with him Peter, John, and James, and went up onto the mountain to pray.

29As he was praying, the appearance of his face was altered, and his clothing became white and dazzling.

30Behold, two men were talking with him, who were Moses and Elijah, 31who appeared in glory, and spoke of his departure, which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem.

32Now Peter and those who were with him were heavy with sleep, but when they were fully awake, they saw his glory, and the two men who stood with him.

33As they were parting from him, Peter said to Jesus, "Master, it is good for us to be here. Let's make three tents: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah," not knowing what he said.

34While he said these things, a cloud came and overshadowed them, and they were afraid as they entered into the cloud.

35A voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is my dear Son. Listen to him!" 36When the voice came, Jesus was found alone. They were silent, and told no one in those days any of the things which they had seen.
