Genesis 22:1-19

Genesis Chapter 22

1After these things, God tested Abraham, and said to him, "Abraham!" He said, "Here I am." 2He said, "Now take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go into the land of Moriah. Offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I will tell you of." 3Abraham rose early in the morning, and saddled his donkey; and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son. He split the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went to the place of which God had told him.

4On the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place far off.

5Abraham said to his young men, "Stay here with the donkey. The boy and I will go over there. We will worship, and come back to you." 6Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son. He took in his hand the fire and the knife. They both went together.

7Isaac spoke to Abraham his father, and said, "My father?" He said, "Here I am, my son." He said, "Here is the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?" 8Abraham said, "God will provide himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son." So they both went together.

9They came to the place which God had told him of. Abraham built the altar there, and laid the wood in order, bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar, on the wood.

10Abraham stretched out his hand, and took the knife to kill his son.

11The angel of ForeverOne called to him out of the sky, and said, "Abraham, Abraham!" He said, "Here I am." 12He said, "Don't lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him. For now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me." 13Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and saw that behind him was a ram caught in the thicket by his horns. Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering instead of his son.

14Abraham called the name of that place 'ForeverOne Will Provide'. As it is said to this day, "On ForeverOne's mountain, it will be provided." 15The angel of ForeverOne called to Abraham a second time out of the sky, 16and said, "'I have sworn by myself,' says ForeverOne, 'because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son, 17that I will bless you greatly, and I will multiply your offspring greatly like the stars of the heavens, and like the sand which is on the seashore. Your offspring will possess the gate of his enemies.

18All the nations of the earth will be blessed by your offspring, because you have obeyed my voice.'" 19So Abraham returned to his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beersheba. Abraham lived at Beersheba.

Judges 6:12-37

Judges Chapter 6

12The angel of ForeverOne appeared to him, and said to him, "ForeverOne is with you, you mighty man of valor!" 13Gideon said to him, "Oh, my lord, if ForeverOne is with us, then why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wondrous works which our fathers told us of, saying, 'Didn't ForeverOne bring us up from Egypt?' But now ForeverOne has rejected us, and delivered us into the hand of Midian." 14ForeverOne looked at him, and said, "Go in this your might, and save Israel from the hand of Midian. Haven't I sent you?" 15He said to him, "O LordOfMine, how shall I save Israel? Behold, my family is the poorest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house." 16ForeverOne said to him, "Surely I will be with you, and you shall strike the Midianites as one man." 17He said to him, "If now I have found favor in your sight, then show me a sign that it is you who talk with me.

18Please don't go away, until I come to you, and bring out my gift, and lay it before you." He said, "I will wait until you come back." 19Gideon went in, and prepared a young goat, and unleavened cakes of an ephah of meal. He put the meat in a basket and he put the broth in a pot, and brought it out to him under the oak, and presented it.

20The angel of God said to him, "Take the meat and the unleavened cakes, and lay them on this rock, and pour out the broth." He did so.

21Then the angel of ForeverOne stretched out the end of the staff that was in his hand, and touched the meat and the unleavened cakes; and fire went up out of the rock, and consumed the meat and the unleavened cakes; and the angel of ForeverOne departed out of his sight.

22Gideon saw that he was the angel of ForeverOne; and Gideon said, "Alas, LordOfMine ForeverOne! Because I have seen the angel of ForeverOne face to face!" 23ForeverOne said to him, "Peace be to you! Don't be afraid. You shall not die." 24Then Gideon built an altar there to ForeverOne, and called it "ForeverOne is Peace." To this day it is still in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.

25That same night ForeverOne said to him, "Take your father's bull, even the second bull seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that your father has, and cut down the Asherah that is by it; 26and build an altar to ForeverOne your God on the top of this stronghold, in an orderly way, and take the second bull, and offer a burnt offering with the wood of the Asherah which you shall cut down." 27Then Gideon took ten men of his servants, and did as ForeverOne had spoken to him: and, because he feared his father's household and the men of the city, so that he could not do it by day, he did it by night.

28When the men of the city arose early in the morning, behold, the altar of Baal was broken down, and the Asherah was cut down that was by it, and the second bull was offered on the altar that was built.

29They said one to another, "Who has done this thing?" When they inquired and asked, they said, "Gideon the son of Joash has done this thing." 30Then the men of the city said to Joash, "Bring out your son, that he may die, because he has broken down the altar of Baal, and because he has cut down the Asherah that was by it." 31Joash said to all who stood against him, "Will you contend for Baal? Or will you save him? He who will contend for him, let him be put to death while [it is yet] morning. If he is a god, let him contend for himself, because someone has broken down his altar." 32Therefore on that day he named him Jerub-Baal, saying, "Let Baal contend against him, because he has broken down his altar." 33Then all the Midianites and the Amalekites and the children of the east assembled themselves together; and they passed over, and encamped in the valley of Jezreel.

34But the Spirit of ForeverOne came on Gideon; and he blew a trumpet; and Abiezer was gathered together after him.

35He sent messengers throughout all Manasseh; and they also were gathered together after him: and he sent messengers to Asher, and to Zebulun, and to Naphtali; and they came up to meet them.

36Gideon said to God, "If you will save Israel by my hand, as you have spoken, 37behold, I will put a fleece of wool on the threshing floor; if there be dew on the fleece only, and it be dry on all the ground, then shall I know that you will save Israel by my hand, as you have spoken."

1 Chronicles 16:30-17:6

1 Chronicles Chapter 16

30Tremble before him, all the earth. The world also is established that it can't be moved.

31Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice! Let them say among the nations, "ForeverOne reigns!" 32Let the sea roar, and its fullness! Let the field exult, and all that is in it!

33Then the trees of the forest will sing for joy before ForeverOne, for he comes to judge the earth.

34Oh give thanks to ForeverOne, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.

35Say, "Save us, God of our salvation! Gather us together and deliver us from the nations, to give thanks to your holy name, to triumph in your praise." 36Blessed be ForeverOne, the God of Israel, from everlasting even to everlasting. All the people said, "Amen," and praised ForeverOne.

37So he left there, before the ark of the covenant of ForeverOne, Asaph and his brothers, to minister before the ark continually, as every day's work required; 38and Obed-Edom with their brothers, sixty-eight; Obed-Edom also the son of Jeduthun and Hosah to be doorkeepers; 39and Zadok the priest, and his brothers the priests, before the tabernacle of ForeverOne in the high place that was at Gibeon, 40to offer burnt offerings to ForeverOne on the altar of burnt offering continually morning and evening, even according to all that is written in the law of ForeverOne, which he commanded to Israel; 41and with them Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest who were chosen, who were mentioned by name, to give thanks to ForeverOne, because his loving kindness endures forever; 42and with them Heman and Jeduthun [with] trumpets and cymbals for those that should sound aloud, and [with] instruments for the songs of God; and the sons of Jeduthun to be at the gate.

43All the people departed every man to his house: and David returned to bless his house.

1 Chronicles Chapter 17

1When David lived in his house David said to Nathan the prophet, "Behold, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of ForeverOne is under curtains." 2Nathan said to David, "Do all that is in your heart; for God is with you." 3That same night the word of God came to Nathan, saying, 4"Go and tell David my servant, 'Thus says ForeverOne, "You shall not build me a house to dwell in; 5for I have not lived in a house since the day that I brought up Israel, to this day, but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tent to another.

6In all places in which I have walked with all Israel, did I speak a word with any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to be shepherd of my people, saying, 'Why have you not built me a house of cedar?'"'

Matthew 21:1-17

Matthew Chapter 21

1When they came near to Jerusalem and came to Bethsphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, 2saying to them, "Go into the village that is opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Untie them and bring them to me.

3If anyone says anything to you, you shall say, 'ForeverOne needs them,' and immediately he will send them." 4All this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying, 5"Tell the daughter of Zion, behold, your King comes to you, humble, and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey." 6The disciples went and did just as Jesus commanded them, 7and brought the donkey and the colt and laid their clothes on them; and he sat on them.

8A very great multitude spread their clothes on the road. Others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.

9The multitudes who went in front of him, and those who followed, kept shouting, "Hosanna to the son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of ForeverOne! Hosanna in the highest!" 10When he had entered Jerusalem, all the city was stirred up, saying, "Who is this?" 11The multitudes said, "This is the prophet, Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee." 12Jesus entered into the temple of God and drove out all of those who sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the money changers' tables and the seats of those who sold the doves.

13He said to them, "It is written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer,' but you have made it a den of robbers!" 14The lame and the blind came to him in the temple, and he healed them.

15But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children who were crying in the temple and saying, "Hosanna to the son of David!" they were indignant, 16and said to him, "Do you hear what these are saying?" Jesus said to them, "Yes. Did you never read, 'Out of the mouth of children and nursing babies, you have perfected praise?'" 17He left them and went out of the city to Bethany, and camped there.
