1The children of Israel, even the whole congregation, came into the wilderness of Zin in the first month: and the people stayed in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there. 2There was no water for the congregation: and they assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron. 3The people strove with Moses, and spoke, saying, "We wish that we had died when our brothers died before TheIAM (Yahweh) ! 4Why have you brought the assembly of TheIAM (Yahweh) into this wilderness, that we should die there, we and our animals? 5Why have you made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in to this evil place? It is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink." 6Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly to the door of the Tent of Meeting, and fell on their faces: and the glory of TheIAM (Yahweh) appeared to them. 7TheIAM (Yahweh) spoke to Moses, saying, 8"Take the rod, and assemble the congregation, you, and Aaron your brother, and speak to the rock before their eyes, that it give forth its water; and you shall bring forth to them water out of the rock; so you shall give the congregation and their livestock drink." 9Moses took the rod from before TheIAM (Yahweh) , as he commanded him. 10Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock, and he said to them, "Hear now, you rebels; shall we bring you water out of this rock for you?" 11Moses lifted up his hand, and struck the rock with his rod twice: and water came forth abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their livestock. 12TheIAM (Yahweh) said to Moses and Aaron, "Because you didn't believe in me, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them." 13These are the waters of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with TheIAM (Yahweh) , and he was sanctified in them.
26Make him drunken; for he magnified himself against TheIAM (Yahweh) : and Moab shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall be in derision. 27For wasn't Israel a derision to you? was he found among thieves? for as often as you speak of him, you shake your head. 28You inhabitants of Moab, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock; and be like the dove that makes her nest over the mouth of the abyss. 29We have heard of the pride of Moab, [that] he is very proud; his loftiness, and his pride, and his arrogance, and the haughtiness of his heart. 30I know his wrath, says TheIAM (Yahweh) , that it is nothing; his boastings have worked nothing. 31Therefore will I wail for Moab; yes, I will cry out for all Moab: for the men of Kir Heres shall they mourn. 32With more than the weeping of Jazer will I weep for you, vine of Sibmah: your branches passed over the sea, they reached even to the sea of Jazer: on your summer fruits and on your vintage the destroyer is fallen. 33Gladness and joy is taken away from the fruitful field and from the land of Moab; and I have caused wine to cease from the wine presses: none shall tread with shouting; the shouting shall be no shouting. 34From the cry of Heshbon even to Elealeh, even to Jahaz have they uttered their voice, from Zoar even to Horonaim, to Eglath Shelishiyah: for the waters of Nimrim also shall become desolate. 35Moreover I will cause to cease in Moab, says TheIAM (Yahweh) , him who offers in the high place, and him who burns incense to his gods (Elohim) . 36Therefore my heart sounds for Moab like pipes, and my heart sounds like pipes for the men of Kir Heres: therefore the abundance that he has gotten is perished. 37For every head is bald, and every beard clipped: on all the hands are cuttings, and on the waist sackcloth. 38On all the housetops of Moab and in its streets there is lamentation every where; for I have broken Moab like a vessel in which none delights, says TheIAM (Yahweh) . 39How is it broken down! [how] do they wail! how has Moab turned the back with shame! so shall Moab become a derision and a terror to all who are around him. 40For thus says TheIAM (Yahweh) : Behold, he shall fly as an eagle, and shall spread out his wings against Moab. 41Kerioth is taken, and the strongholds are seized, and the heart of the mighty men of Moab at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs. 42Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he has magnified himself against TheIAM (Yahweh) . 43Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are on you, inhabitant of Moab, says TheIAM (Yahweh) . 44He who flees from the fear shall fall into the pit; and he who gets up out of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for I will bring on him, even on Moab, the year of their visitation, says TheIAM (Yahweh) . 45Those who fled stand without strength under the shadow of Heshbon; for a fire is gone forth out of Heshbon, and a flame from the midst of Sihon, and has devoured the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the tumultuous ones. 46Woe to you, O Moab! the people of Chemosh is undone; for your sons are taken away captive, and your daughters into captivity. 47Yet will I bring back the captivity of Moab in the latter days, says TheIAM (Yahweh) . Thus far is the judgment of Moab.
1Of the children of Ammon. Thus says TheIAM (Yahweh) : Has Israel no sons? has he no heir? why then does Malcam possess Gad, and his people well in its cities? 2Therefore, behold, the days come, says TheIAM (Yahweh) , that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard against Rabbah of the children of Ammon; and it shall become a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel possess those who did possess him, says TheIAM (Yahweh) . 3Wail, Heshbon, for Ai is laid waste; cry, you daughters of Rabbah, clothe yourself in sackcloth: lament, and run back and forth among the fences; for Malcam shall go into captivity, his priests and his princes together. 4Why do you glory in the valleys, your flowing valley, backsliding daughter? who trusted in her treasures, [saying], Who shall come to me? 5Behold, I will bring a fear on you, says the Lord (Adonai) , TheIAM (Yahweh) of Armies, from all who are around you; and you shall be driven out every man right forth, and there shall be none to gather together the fugitives. 6But afterward I will bring back the captivity of the children of Ammon, says TheIAM (Yahweh) .
1I love TheIAM (Yahweh) , because he listens to my voice, and my cries for mercy. 2Because he has turned his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live. 3The cords of death surrounded me, the pains of Sheol got a hold of me. I found trouble and sorrow. 4Then I called on the name of TheIAM (Yahweh) : "TheIAM (Yahweh) , I beg you, deliver my soul." 5TheIAM (Yahweh) is Gracious and righteous. Yes, our God (Elohim) is merciful. 6TheIAM (Yahweh) preserves the simple. I was brought low, and he saved me. 7Return to your rest, my soul, for TheIAM (Yahweh) has dealt bountifully with you. 8For you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from falling. 9I will walk before TheIAM (Yahweh) in the land of the living. 10I believed, therefore I said, "I was greatly afflicted." 11I said in my haste, "All men are liars." 12What will I give to TheIAM (Yahweh) for all his benefits toward me? 13I will take the cup of salvation, and call on the name of TheIAM (Yahweh) . 14I will pay my vows to TheIAM (Yahweh) , yes, in the presence of all his people. 15Precious in the sight of TheIAM (Yahweh) is the death of his saints. 16TheIAM (Yahweh) , truly I am your servant. I am your servant, the son of your handmaid. You have freed me from my chains. 17I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call on the name of TheIAM (Yahweh) . 18I will pay my vows to TheIAM (Yahweh) , yes, in the presence of all his people, 19in the courts of TheIAM (Yahweh) 's house, in the midst of you, Jerusalem. Praise IAM (Yah) !
1I wish that you would bear with me in a little foolishness, but indeed you do bear with me. 2For I am jealous over you with a godly jealousy. For I married you to one husband, that I might present you as a pure virgin to the AnointedOne (Kristos) . 3But I am afraid that somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve in his craftiness, so your minds might be corrupted from the simplicity that is in the AnointedOne (Kristos) . 4For if he who comes preaches another Jesus, whom we did not preach, or if you receive a different spirit, which you did not receive, or a different "good news", which you did not accept, you put up with that well enough. 5For I reckon that I am not at all behind the very best apostles. 6But though I am unskilled in speech, yet I am not unskilled in knowledge. No, in every way we have been revealed to you in all things. 7Or did I commit a sin in humbling myself that you might be exalted, because I preached to you God's Good News free of charge? 8I robbed other assemblies, taking wages from them that I might serve you. 9When I was present with you and was in need, I wasn't a burden on anyone, for the brothers, when they came from Macedonia, supplied the measure of my need. In everything I kept myself from being burdensome to you, and I will continue to do so. 10As the truth of the AnointedOne (Kristos) is in me, no one will stop me from this boasting in the regions of Achaia. 11Why? Because I don't love (Agapeo) you? God knows! 12But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them that desire an occasion, that in which they boast, they may be found even as we. 13For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as the AnointedOne (Kristos) 's apostles. 14And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light. 15It is no great thing therefore if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. 16I say again, let no one think me foolish. But if so, yet receive me as foolish, that I also may boast a little. 17That which I speak, I don't speak according to the Lord (Kurios) , but as in foolishness, in this confidence of boasting. 18Seeing that many boast after the flesh, I will also boast. 19For you bear with the foolish gladly, being wise. 20For you bear with a man, if he brings you into slavery, if he devours you, if he takes you captive, if he exalts himself, if he strikes you on the face. 21I speak by way of disparagement, as though we had been weak. Yet however any is bold (I speak in foolishness), I am bold also. 22Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? So am I. 23Are they servants of the AnointedOne (Kristos) ? (I speak as one beside himself) I am more so; in labors more abundantly, in prisons more abundantly, in stripes above measure, in deaths often. 24Five times from the Jews I received forty stripes minus one. 25Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I suffered shipwreck. I have been a night and a day in the deep. 26I have been in travels often, perils of rivers, perils of robbers, perils from my countrymen, perils from the Gentiles, perils in the city, perils in the wilderness, perils in the sea, perils among false brothers; 27in labor and travail, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, and in cold and nakedness. 28Besides those things that are outside, there is that which presses on me daily, anxiety for all the assemblies. 29Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is caused to stumble, and I don't burn with indignation?
