Numbers Chapter 14

5Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel.

6Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were of those who spied out the land, tore their clothes: 7and they spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, "The land, which we passed through to spy it out, is an exceeding good land.

8If ForeverOne delights in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it to us; a land which flows with milk and honey.

9Only don't rebel against ForeverOne, neither fear the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defense is removed from over them, and ForeverOne is with us. Don't fear them." 10But all the congregation threatened to stone them with stones. The glory of ForeverOne appeared in the Tent of Meeting to all the children of Israel.

11ForeverOne said to Moses, "How long will this people despise me? and how long will they not believe in me, for all the signs which I have worked among them?

12I will strike them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of you a nation greater and mightier than they." 13Moses said to ForeverOne, "Then the Egyptians will hear it; for you brought up this people in your might from among them; 14and they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land. They have heard that you ForeverOne are in the midst of this people; for you ForeverOne are seen face to face, and your cloud stands over them, and you go before them, in a pillar of cloud by day, and in a pillar of fire by night.

15Now if you killed this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of you will speak, saying, 16'Because ForeverOne was not able to bring this people into the land which he swore to them, therefore he has slain them in the wilderness.' 17Now please let the power of the Lord be great, according as you have spoken, saying, 18'ForeverOne is slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, forgiving iniquity and disobedience; and that will by no means clear [the guilty], visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation.' 19Please pardon the iniquity of this people according to the greatness of your loving kindness, and according as you have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now." 20ForeverOne said, "I have pardoned according to your word: 21but in very deed, as I live, and as all the earth shall be filled with the glory of ForeverOne; 22because all those men who have seen my glory, and my signs, which I worked in Egypt and in the wilderness, yet have tempted me these ten times, and have not listened to my voice; 23surely they shall not see the land which I swore to their fathers, neither shall any of those who despised me see it: 24but my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and has followed me fully, him will I bring into the land into which he went; and his seed shall possess it.

25Now the Amalekite and the Canaanite dwell in the valley: tomorrow turn, and go into the wilderness by the way to the Red Sea."

Jeremiah 34:8-35:7

22 verses

Jeremiah Chapter 34

8The word that came to Jeremiah from ForeverOne, after that the king Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people who were at Jerusalem, to proclaim liberty to them; 9that every man should let his male servant, and every man his female servant, who is a Hebrew or a Hebrewess, go free; that none should make bondservants of them, [to wit], of a Jew his brother.

10All the princes and all the people obeyed, who had entered into the covenant, that everyone should let his male servant, and everyone his female servant, go free, that none should make bondservants of them any more; they obeyed, and let them go: 11but afterwards they turned, and caused the servants and the handmaids, whom they had let go free, to return, and brought them into subjection for servants and for handmaids.

12Therefore the word of ForeverOne came to Jeremiah from ForeverOne, saying, 13Thus says ForeverOne, the God of Israel: I made a covenant with your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery, saying, 14At the end of seven years you shall let go every man his brother who is a Hebrew, who has been sold to you, and has served you six years, you shall let him go free from you: but your fathers didn't listen to me, neither inclined their ear.

15You had now turned, and had done that which is right in my eyes, in proclaiming liberty every man to his neighbor; and you had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name: 16but you turned and profaned my name, and caused every man his servant, and every man his handmaid, whom you had let go free at their pleasure, to return; and you brought them into subjection, to be to you for servants and for handmaids.

17Therefore thus says ForeverOne: you have not listened to me, to proclaim liberty, every man to his brother, and every man to his neighbor: behold, I proclaim to you a liberty, says ForeverOne, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth.

18I will give the men who have transgressed my covenant, who have not performed the words of the covenant which they made before me, when they cut the calf in two and passed between its parts; 19the princes of Judah, and the princes of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, and the priests, and all the people of the land, who passed between the parts of the calf; 20I will even give them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those who seek their life; and their dead bodies shall be for food to the birds of the sky, and to the animals of the earth.

21Zedekiah king of Judah and his princes will I give into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those who seek their life, and into the hand of the king of Babylon's army, who have gone away from you.

22Behold, I will command, says ForeverOne, and cause them to return to this city; and they shall fight against it, and take it, and burn it with fire: and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation, without inhabitant.

Jeremiah Chapter 35

1The word which came to Jeremiah from ForeverOne in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, saying, 2Go to the house of the Rechabites, and speak to them, and bring them into the house of ForeverOne, into one of the rooms, and give them wine to drink.

3Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habazziniah, and his brothers, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites; 4and I brought them into the house of ForeverOne, into the room of the sons of Hanan the son of Igdaliah, the man of God, which was by the room of the princes, which was above the room of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the threshold.

5I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites bowls full of wine, and cups; and I said to them, Drink wine!

6But they said, We will drink no wine; for Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, commanded us, saying, You shall drink no wine, neither you, nor your sons, forever: 7neither shall you build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any; but all your days you shall dwell in tents; that you may live many days in the land in which you live.

Section 3

Psalm 96-97

25 verses

Psalm 96

1Sing to ForeverOne a new song! Sing to ForeverOne, all the earth.

2Sing to ForeverOne! Bless his name! Proclaim his salvation from day to day!

3Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples.

4For great is ForeverOne, and greatly to be praised! He is to be feared above all gods.

5For all the gods of the peoples are idols, but ForeverOne made the heavens.

6Honor and majesty are before him. Strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

7Ascribe to ForeverOne, you families of nations, ascribe to ForeverOne glory and strength.

8Ascribe to ForeverOne the glory due to his name. Bring an offering, and come into his courts.

9Worship ForeverOne in holy array. Tremble before him, all the earth.

10Say among the nations, "ForeverOne reigns." The world is also established. It can't be moved. He will judge the peoples with equity.

11Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice. Let the sea roar, and its fullness!

12Let the field and all that is in it exult! Then all the trees of the woods shall sing for joy 13before ForeverOne; for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, the peoples with his truth.

Psalm 97

1ForeverOne reigns! Let the earth rejoice! Let the multitude of islands be glad!

2Clouds and darkness are around him. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.

3A fire goes before him, and burns up his adversaries on every side.

4His lightning lights up the world. The earth sees, and trembles.

5The mountains melt like wax at the presence of ForeverOne, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

6The heavens declare his righteousness. All the peoples have seen his glory.

7Let all them be shamed who serve engraved images, who boast in their idols. Worship him, all you gods!

8Zion heard and was glad. The daughters of Judah rejoiced, because of your judgments, ForeverOne.

9For you, ForeverOne, are most high above all the earth. You are exalted far above all gods.

10You who love ForeverOne, hate evil. He preserves the souls of his saints. He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.

11Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.

12Be glad in ForeverOne, you righteous people! Give thanks to his holy Name.

Section 4

1 Corinthians 14:20-40

21 verses

1 Corinthians Chapter 14

20Brothers, don't be children in thoughts, yet in malice be babies, but in thoughts be mature.

21In the law it is written, "By men of strange languages and by the lips of strangers I will speak to this people. They won't even hear me that way, says the Lord." 22So other languages are for a sign, not to those who believe, but to the unbelieving; but prophesying is for a sign, not to the unbelieving, but to those who believe.

23So if the whole assembly is assembled together and all speak with other languages, and unlearned or unbelieving people come in, won't they say that you are crazy?

24But if all prophesy, and someone unbelieving or unlearned comes in, he is reproved by all, and he is judged by all.

25And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed. So he will fall down on his face and worship God, declaring that God is among you indeed.

26What is it then, brothers? When you come together, each one of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has another language, or has an interpretation. Let all things be done to build each other up.

27If any man speaks in another language, let it be two, or at the most three, and in turn; and let one interpret.

28But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in the assembly, and let him speak to himself, and to God.

29Let the prophets speak, two or three, and let the others discern.

30But if a revelation is made to another sitting by, let the first keep silent.

31For you all can prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be exhorted.

32The spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets, 33for God is not a God of confusion, but of peace, as in all the assemblies of the saints.

34Let the wives be quiet in the assemblies, for it has not been permitted for them to be talking except in submission, as the law also says, 35if they desire to learn anything. "Let them ask their own husbands at home, for it is shameful for a wife to be talking in the assembly." 36What? Was it from you that the word of God went out? Or did it come to you alone?

37If any man thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him recognize the things which I write to you, that they are the commandment of the Lord.

38But if anyone is ignorant, let him be ignorant.

39So, my brothers, desire earnestly to prophesy, and don't forbid speaking with other languages.

40Let all things be done decently and in order.
