Section 1

Numbers Chapter 4

17TheIAM (Yahweh) spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, 18"Don't cut off the tribe of the families of the Kohathites from among the Levites; 19but thus do to them, that they may live, and not die, when they approach to the most holy things: Aaron and his sons shall go in, and appoint them everyone to his service and to his burden; 20but they shall not go in to see the sanctuary even for a moment, lest they die." 21TheIAM (Yahweh) spoke to Moses, saying, 22"Take a census of the sons of Gershon also, by their fathers' houses, by their families; 23you shall count them from thirty years old and upward until fifty years old; all who enter in to wait on the service, to do the work in the Tent of Meeting. 24"This is the service of the families of the Gershonites, in serving and in bearing burdens: 25they shall carry the curtains of the tabernacle, and the Tent of Meeting, its covering, and the covering of sealskin that is above on it, and the screen for the door of the Tent of Meeting, 26and the hangings of the court, and the screen for the door of the gate of the court, which is by the tabernacle and around the altar, and their cords, and all the instruments of their service, and whatever shall be done with them. Therein shall they serve. 27At the commandment of Aaron and his sons shall be all the service of the sons of the Gershonites, in all their burden, and in all their service; and you shall appoint their duty to them in all their responsibilities. 28This is the service of the families of the sons of the Gershonites in the Tent of Meeting: and their duty shall be under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest. 29"As for the sons of Merari, you shall number them by their families, by their fathers' houses; 30you shall count them from thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old, everyone who enters on the service, to do the work of the Tent of Meeting. 31This is the duty of their burden, according to all their service in the Tent of Meeting: the tabernacle's boards, its bars, its pillars, its sockets, 32and the pillars of the court around it, and their sockets, and their pins, and their cords, with all their instruments, and with all their service: and by name you shall appoint the instruments of the duty of their burden. 33This is the service of the families of the sons of Merari, according to all their service, in the Tent of Meeting, under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest."

Section 2

Jeremiah Chapter 12

14Thus says TheIAM (Yahweh) against all my evil neighbors, who touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit: behold, I will pluck them up from off their land, and will pluck up the house of Judah from among them. 15It shall happen, after that I have plucked them up, I will return and have compassion on them; and I will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land. 16It shall happen, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, As TheIAM (Yahweh) lives; even as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built up in the midst of my people. 17But if they will not hear, then will I pluck up that nation, plucking up and destroying it, says TheIAM (Yahweh) .

Jeremiah Chapter 13

1Thus says TheIAM (Yahweh) to me, Go, and buy yourself a linen belt, and put it on your waist, and don't put it in water. 2So I bought a belt according to the word of TheIAM (Yahweh) , and put it on my waist. 3The word of TheIAM (Yahweh) came to me the second time, saying, 4Take the belt that you have bought, which is on your waist, and arise, go to the Euphrates, and hide it there in a cleft of the rock. 5So I went, and hid it by the Euphrates, as TheIAM (Yahweh) commanded me. 6It happened after many days, that TheIAM (Yahweh) said to me, Arise, go to the Euphrates, and take the belt from there, which I commanded you to hide there. 7Then I went to the Euphrates, and dug, and took the belt from the place where I had hidden it; and behold, the belt was marred, it was profitable for nothing. 8Then the word of TheIAM (Yahweh) came to me, saying, 9Thus says TheIAM (Yahweh) , In this way I will mar the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem. 10This evil people, who refuse to hear my words, who walk in the stubbornness of their heart, and are gone after other gods (Elohim) to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this belt, which is profitable for nothing. 11For as the belt clings to the waist of a man, so have I caused to cling to me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, says TheIAM (Yahweh) ; that they may be to me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear. 12Therefore you shall speak to them this word: Thus says TheIAM (Yahweh) , the God (Elohim) of Israel, Every bottle shall be filled with wine: and they shall tell you, Do we not certainly know that every bottle shall be filled with wine? 13Then you shall tell them, Thus says TheIAM (Yahweh) , Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings who sit on David's throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness. 14I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, says TheIAM (Yahweh) : I will not pity, nor spare, nor have compassion, that I should not destroy them. 15Hear, and give ear; don't be proud; for TheIAM (Yahweh) has spoken. 16Give glory to TheIAM (Yahweh) your God (Elohim) , before he causes darkness, and before your feet stumble on the dark mountains, and, while you look for light, he turns it into the shadow of death, and makes it gross darkness. 17But if you will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret for [your] pride; and my eye shall weep bitterly, and run down with tears, because TheIAM (Yahweh) 's flock is taken captive. 18Say to the king and to the queen mother, Humble yourselves, sit down; for your headdresses have come down, even the crown of your glory. 19The cities of the South are shut up, and there is none to open them: Judah is carried away captive, all of it; it is wholly carried away captive. 20Lift up your eyes, and see those who come from the north: where is the flock that was given you, your beautiful flock? 21What will you say, when he shall set over you as head those whom you have yourself taught to be friends to you? shall not sorrows take hold of you, as of a woman in travail? 22If you say in your heart, Why are these things come on me? for the greatness of your iniquity are your skirts uncovered, and your heels suffer violence. 23Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may you also do good, who are accustomed to do evil.

Section 3

Psalm 68

For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David. A song. 1Let God (Elohim) arise! Let his enemies be scattered! Let them who hate him also flee before him. 2As smoke is driven away, so drive them away. As wax melts before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God (Elohim) . 3But let the righteous be glad. Let them rejoice before God (Elohim) . Yes, let them rejoice with gladness. 4Sing to God (Elohim) ! Sing praises to his name! Extol him who rides on the clouds: to IAM (Yah) , his name! Rejoice before him! 5A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God (Elohim) in his holy habitation. 6God (Elohim) sets the lonely in families. He brings out the prisoners with singing, but the rebellious dwell in a sun-scorched land. 7God (Elohim) , when you went out before your people, when you marched through the wilderness... Selah. 8The earth trembled. The sky also poured down rain at the presence of the God (Elohim) of Sinai - at the presence of God (Elohim) , the God (Elohim) of Israel. 9You, God (Elohim) , sent a plentiful rain. You confirmed your inheritance, when it was weary. 10Your congregation lived therein. You, God (Elohim) , prepared your goodness for the poor. 11The Lord (Adonai) announced the word. The ones who proclaim it are a great company. 12"Kings of armies flee! They flee!" She who waits at home divides the spoil, 13while you sleep among the campfires, the wings of a dove sheathed with silver, her feathers with shining gold. 14When the Almighty (Shaddai) scattered kings in her, it snowed on Zalmon. 15The mountains of Bashan are majestic (Elohim) mountains. The mountains of Bashan are rugged. 16Why do you look in envy, you rugged mountains, at the mountain where God (Elohim) chooses to reign? Yes, TheIAM (Yahweh) will dwell there forever. 17The chariots of God (Elohim) are tens of thousands and thousands of thousands. The Lord (Adonai) is among them, from Sinai, into the sanctuary. 18You have ascended on high. You have led away captives. You have received gifts among men, yes, among the rebellious also, that IAM (Yah) God (Elohim) might dwell there. 19Blessed be the Lord (Adonai) , who daily bears our burdens, even the God (El) who is our salvation. Selah. 20God (El) is to us a God (El) of deliverance. To TheIAM (Yahweh) , the Lord (Adonai) , belongs escape from death. 21But God (Elohim) will strike through the head of his enemies, the hairy scalp of such a one as still continues in his guiltiness. 22The Lord (Adonai) said, "I will bring you again from Bashan, I will bring you again from the depths of the sea; 23That you may crush them, dipping your foot in blood, that the tongues of your dogs may have their portion from your enemies." 24They have seen your processions, God (Elohim) , even the processions of my God (El) , my King, into the sanctuary. 25The singers went before, the minstrels followed after, in the midst of the ladies playing with tambourines, 26"Bless God (Elohim) in the congregations, even the Lord (Adonai) in the assembly of Israel!" 27There is little Benjamin, their ruler, the princes of Judah, their council, the princes of Zebulun, and the princes of Naphtali. 28Your God (Elohim) has commanded your strength. Strengthen, God (Elohim) , that which you have done for us. 29Because of your temple at Jerusalem, kings shall bring presents to you. 30Rebuke the wild animal of the reeds, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the peoples. Being humbled, may it bring bars of silver. Scatter the nations that delight in war. 31Princes shall come out of Egypt. Ethiopia shall hurry to stretch out her hands to God (Elohim) . 32Sing to God (Elohim) , you kingdoms of the earth! Sing praises to the Lord (Adonai) ! Selah. 33To him who rides on the heaven of heavens, which are of old; behold, he utters his voice, a mighty voice. 34Ascribe strength to God (Elohim) ! His excellency is over Israel, his strength is in the skies. 35You are awesome, God (Elohim) , in your sanctuaries. The God (El) of Israel gives strength and power to his people. Praise be to God (Elohim) !

Section 4

Romans Chapter 10

16But they didn't all listen to the glad news. For Isaiah says, "Lord (Kurios) , who has believed our report?" 17So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. 18But I say, didn't they hear? Yes, most certainly, "Their sound went out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world." 19But I ask, didn't Israel know? First Moses says, "I will provoke you to jealousy with that which is no nation, with a nation void of understanding I will make you angry." 20Isaiah is very bold, and says, "I was found by those who didn't seek me. I was revealed to those who didn't ask for me." 21But as to Israel he says, "All day long I stretched out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people."

Romans Chapter 11

1I ask then, did God reject his people? May it never be! For I also am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. 2God didn't reject his people, which he foreknew. Or don't you know what the Scripture says about Elijah? How he pleads with God against Israel: 3"Lord (Kurios) , they have killed your prophets, they have broken down your altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life." 4But how does God answer him? "I have reserved for myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to Baal." 5Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. 6And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work. 7What then? That which Israel seeks for, that he didn't obtain, but the chosen ones obtained it, and the rest were hardened. 8According as it is written, "God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, to this very day." 9David says, "Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, a stumbling block, and a retribution to them. 10Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see. Bow down their back always." 11I ask then, did they stumble that they might fall? May it never be! But by their fall salvation has come to the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy. 12Now if their fall is the riches of the world, and their loss the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fullness? 13For I speak to you who are Gentiles. Since then as I am an apostle to Gentiles, I glorify my ministry; 14if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh, and may save some of them. 15For if the rejection of them is the reconciling of the world, what would their acceptance be, but life from the dead?
