1He made the altar of burnt offering of acacia wood. It was square. Its length was five cubits, its breadth was five cubits, and its height was three cubits. 2He made its horns on its four corners. Its horns were of one piece with it, and he overlaid it with brass. 3He made all the vessels of the altar, the pots, the shovels, the basins, the forks, and the fire pans. He made all its vessels of brass. 4He made for the altar a grating of a network of brass, under the ledge around it beneath, reaching halfway up. 5He cast four rings for the four ends of brass grating, to be places for the poles. 6He made the poles of acacia wood, and overlaid them with brass. 7He put the poles into the rings on the sides of the altar, with which to carry it. He made it hollow with planks. 8He made the basin of brass, and its base of brass, out of the mirrors of the ministering women who ministered at the door of the Tent of Meeting. 9He made the court: for the south side southward the hangings of the court were of fine twined linen, one hundred cubits; 10their pillars were twenty, and their sockets twenty, of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets were of silver. 11For the north side one hundred cubits, their pillars twenty, and their sockets twenty, of brass; the hooks of the pillars, and their fillets, of silver. 12For the west side were hangings of fifty cubits, their pillars ten, and their sockets ten; the hooks of the pillars, and their fillets, of silver. 13For the east side eastward fifty cubits. 14The hangings for the one side were fifteen cubits; their pillars three, and their sockets three; 15and so for the other side: on this hand and that hand by the gate of the court were hangings of fifteen cubits; their pillars three, and their sockets three. 16All the hangings around the court were of fine twined linen. 17The sockets for the pillars were of brass. The hooks of the pillars and their fillets were of silver; and the overlaying of their capitals, of silver; and all the pillars of the court were filleted with silver. 18The screen for the gate of the court was the work of the embroiderer, of blue, purple, scarlet, and fine twined linen. Twenty cubits was the length, and the height in the breadth was five cubits, like to the hangings of the court. 19Their pillars were four, and their sockets four, of brass; their hooks of silver, and the overlaying of their capitals, and their fillets, of silver. 20All the pins of the tabernacle, and around the court, were of brass. 21This is the amount of material used for the tabernacle, even the Tabernacle of the Testimony, as they were counted, according to the commandment of Moses, for the service of the Levites, by the hand of Ithamar, the son of Aaron the priest. 22Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made all that TheIAM (Yahweh) commanded Moses. 23With him was Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, an engraver, and a skillful workman, and an embroiderer in blue, in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen. 24All the gold that was used for the work in all the work of the sanctuary, even the gold of the offering, was twenty-nine talents, and seven hundred thirty shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary. 25The silver of those who were numbered of the congregation was one hundred talents, and one thousand seven hundred seventy-five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary: 26a beka a head, that is, half a shekel, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for everyone who passed over to those who were numbered, from twenty years old and upward, for six hundred three thousand five hundred fifty men. 27The one hundred talents of silver were for casting the sockets of the sanctuary, and the sockets of the veil; one hundred sockets for the one hundred talents, a talent for a socket. 28Of the one thousand seven hundred seventy-five shekels he made hooks for the pillars, overlaid their capitals, and made fillets for them. 29The brass of the offering was seventy talents, and two thousand four hundred shekels. 30With this he made the sockets to the door of the Tent of Meeting, the bronze altar, the bronze grating for it, all the vessels of the altar, 31the sockets around the court, the sockets of the gate of the court, all the pins of the tabernacle, and all the pins around the court.
10King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath Pileser king of Assyria, and saw the altar that was at Damascus; and king Ahaz sent to Urijah the priest the fashion of the altar, and its pattern, according to all its workmanship. 11Urijah the priest built an altar: according to all that king Ahaz had sent from Damascus, so did Urijah the priest make it against the coming of king Ahaz from Damascus. 12When the king was come from Damascus, the king saw the altar: and the king drew near to the altar, and offered thereon. 13He burnt his burnt offering and his meal offering, and poured his drink offering, and sprinkled the blood of his peace offerings, on the altar. 14The bronze altar, which was before TheIAM (Yahweh) , he brought from the forefront of the house, from between his altar and the house of TheIAM (Yahweh) , and put it on the north side of his altar. 15King Ahaz commanded Urijah the priest, saying, "On the great altar burn the morning burnt offering, and the evening meal offering, and the king's burnt offering, and his meal offering, with the burnt offering of all the people of the land, and their meal offering, and their drink offerings; and sprinkle on it all the blood of the burnt offering, and all the blood of the sacrifice; but the bronze altar shall be for me to inquire by." 16Urijah the priest did so, according to all that king Ahaz commanded. 17King Ahaz cut off the panels of the bases, and removed the basin from off them, and took down the sea from off the bronze oxen that were under it, and put it on a pavement of stone. 18The covered way for the Sabbath that they had built in the house, and the king's entry outside, turned he to the house of TheIAM (Yahweh) , because of the king of Assyria. 19Now the rest of the acts of Ahaz which he did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? 20Ahaz slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Hezekiah his son reigned in his place.
1In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah began Hoshea the son of Elah to reign in Samaria over Israel, [and reigned] nine years. 2He did that which was evil in the sight of TheIAM (Yahweh) , yet not as the kings of Israel who were before him. 3Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea became his servant, and brought him tribute. 4The king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea; for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and offered no tribute to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year: therefore the king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in prison. 5Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years. 6In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away to Assyria, and placed them in Halah, and on the Habor, the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes. 7It was so, because the children of Israel had sinned against TheIAM (Yahweh) their God (Elohim) , who brought them up out of the land of Egypt from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods (Elohim) , 8and walked in the statutes of the nations, whom TheIAM (Yahweh) cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they made. 9The children of Israel did secretly things that were not right against TheIAM (Yahweh) their God (Elohim) : and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fortified city; 10and they set them up pillars and Asherim on every high hill, and under every green tree; 11and there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the nations whom TheIAM (Yahweh) carried away before them; and they worked wicked things to provoke TheIAM (Yahweh) to anger; 12and they served idols, of which TheIAM (Yahweh) had said to them, "You shall not do this thing." 13Yet TheIAM (Yahweh) testified to Israel, and to Judah, by every prophet, and every seer, saying, "Turn from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets." 14Notwithstanding, they would not listen, but hardened their neck, like the neck of their fathers, who didn't believe in TheIAM (Yahweh) their God (Elohim) .
15He shall lean on his house, but it shall not stand. He shall cling to it, but it shall not endure. 16He is green before the sun. His shoots go forth over his garden. 17His roots are wrapped around the rock pile. He sees the place of stones. 18If he is destroyed from his place, then it shall deny him, saying, 'I have not seen you.' 19Behold, this is the joy of his way: out of the earth, others shall spring. 20"Behold, God (El) will not cast away a blameless man, neither will he uphold the evildoers. 21He will still fill your mouth with laughter, your lips with shouting. 22Those who hate you shall be clothed with shame. The tent of the wicked shall be no more."
1Then Job answered, 2"Truly I know that it is so, but how can man be just with God (El) ? 3If he is pleased to contend with him, he can't answer him one time in a thousand. 4He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who has hardened himself against him, and prospered? 5He removes the mountains, and they don't know it, when he overturns them in his anger. 6He shakes the earth out of its place. Its pillars tremble. 7He commands the sun, and it doesn't rise, and seals up the stars. 8He alone stretches out the heavens, and treads on the waves of the sea. 9He makes the Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades, and the rooms of the south. 10He does great things past finding out; yes, marvelous things without number. 11Behold, he goes by me, and I don't see him. He passes on also, but I don't perceive him. 12Behold, he snatches away. Who can hinder him? Who will ask him, 'What are you doing?' 13"God (Eloah) will not withdraw his anger. The helpers of Rahab stoop under him. 14How much less shall I answer him, And choose my words to argue with him? 15Though I were righteous, yet I wouldn't answer him. I would make supplication to my judge. 16If I had called, and he had answered me, yet I wouldn't believe that he listened to my voice. 17For he breaks me with a storm, and multiplies my wounds without cause. 18He will not allow me to catch my breath, but fills me with bitterness. 19If it is a matter of strength, behold, he is mighty! If of justice, 'Who,' says he, 'will summon me?' 20Though I am righteous, my own mouth shall condemn me. Though I am blameless, it shall prove me perverse. 21I am blameless. I don't respect myself. I despise my life. 22"It is all the same. Therefore I say he destroys the blameless and the wicked. 23If the scourge kills suddenly, he will mock at the trial of the innocent. 24The earth is given into the hand of the wicked. He covers the faces of its judges. If not he, then who is it?
18If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. 19If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20Remember the word that I said to you: 'A servant is not greater than his Lord (Kurios) .' If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will keep yours also. 21But all these things will they do to you for my name's sake, because they don't know him who sent me. 22If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have had sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23He who hates me, hates my Father also. 24If I hadn't done among them the works which no one else did, they wouldn't have had sin. But now have they seen and also hated both me and my Father. 25But this happened so that the word may be fulfilled which was written in their law, 'They hated me without a cause.' 26"When the Counselor has come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will testify about me. 27You will also testify, because you have been with me from the beginning.
1"These things have I spoken to you, so that you wouldn't be caused to stumble. 2They will put you out of the synagogues. Yes, the time comes that whoever kills you will think that he offers service to God. 3They will do these things because they have not known the Father, nor me. 4But I have told you these things, so that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you about them. I didn't tell you these things from the beginning, because I was with you. 5But now I am going to him who sent me, and none of you asks me, 'Where are you going?' 6But because I have told you these things, sorrow has filled your heart. 7Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away, for if I don't go away, the Counselor won't come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. 8When he has come, he will convict the world about sin, about righteousness, and about judgment; 9about sin, because they don't believe in me; 10about righteousness, because I am going to my Father, and you won't see me any more; 11about judgment, because the prince of this world has been judged. 12"I have yet many things to tell you, but you can't bear them now. 13However when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming. 14He will glorify me, for he will take from what is mine, and will declare it to you. 15All things whatever the Father has are mine; therefore I said that he takes of mine, and will declare it to you.
Ooh isn’t it pretty? Well I like it anyway! More seriously the
