Exodus Chapter 34

1ForeverOne said to Moses, "Chisel two stone tablets like the first: and I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke.

2Be ready by the morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and present yourself there to me on the top of the mountain.

3No one shall come up with you; neither let anyone be seen throughout all the mountain; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mountain." 4He chiseled two tablets of stone like the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up to Mount Sinai, as ForeverOne had commanded him, and took in his hand two stone tablets.

5ForeverOne descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of ForeverOne.

6ForeverOne passed by before him, and proclaimed, "ForeverOne! ForeverOne, a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness and truth, 7keeping loving kindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and disobedience and sin; and that will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the children's children, on the third and on the fourth generation." 8Moses hurried and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshiped.

9He said, "If now I have found favor in your sight, Lord, please let the Lord go in the midst of us; although this is a stiff-necked people; pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance."

2 Kings 8:25-9:21

26 verses

2 Kings Chapter 8

25In the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel did Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah begin to reign.

26Twenty-two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Athaliah the daughter of Omri king of Israel.

27He walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did that which was evil in the sight of ForeverOne, as did the house of Ahab; for he was the son-in-law of the house of Ahab.

28He went with Joram the son of Ahab to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth Gilead: and the Syrians wounded Joram.

29King Joram returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.

2 Kings Chapter 9

1Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, and said to him, "Put your belt on your waist, take this vial of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth Gilead.

2When you come there, find Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brothers, and carry him to an inner room.

3Then take the vial of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, 'Thus says ForeverOne, "I anoint you king over Israel."' Then open the door, flee, and don't wait." 4So the young man, even the young man the prophet, went to Ramoth Gilead.

5When he came, behold, the captains of the army were sitting. Then he said, "I have a message for you, captain." Jehu said, "To which of us all?" He said, "To you, O captain." 6He arose, and went into the house. Then he poured the oil on his head, and said to him, "Thus says ForeverOne, the God of Israel, 'I anoint you king over the people of ForeverOne, even over Israel.

7You shall strike the house of Ahab your master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of ForeverOne, at the hand of Jezebel.

8For the whole house of Ahab shall perish. I will cut off from Ahab everyone who urinates against a wall, both him who is shut up and him who is left at large in Israel.

9I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah.

10The dogs will eat Jezebel on the plot of ground of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her.'" He opened the door, and fled.

11Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and one said to him, "Is all well? Why did this mad fellow come to you?" He said to them, "You know the man and what his talk was." 12They said, "That is a lie. Tell us now." He said, "He said to me, 'Thus says ForeverOne, I anoint you king over Israel.'" 13Then they hurried, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew the trumpet, saying, "Jehu is king." 14So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram was keeping Ramoth Gilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria; 15but king Joram was returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) Jehu said, "If this is your thinking, then let no one escape and go out of the city, to go to tell it in Jezreel." 16So Jehu rode in a chariot, and went to Jezreel; for Joram lay there. Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to see Joram.

17Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, "I see a company." Joram said, "Take a horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, 'Is it peace?'" 18So there went one on horseback to meet him, and said, "Thus says the king, 'Is it peace?'" Jehu said, "What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me!" The watchman said, "The messenger came to them, but he isn't coming back." 19Then he sent out a second on horseback, who came to them, and said, "Thus says the king, 'Is it peace?'" Jehu answered, "What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me!" 20The watchman said, "He came to them, and isn't coming back. The driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he drives furiously." 21Joram said, "Get ready!" They got his chariot ready. Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out to meet Jehu, and found him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.

Esther 9:5-19

Esther Chapter 9

5The Jews struck all their enemies with the stroke of the sword, and with slaughter and destruction, and did what they wanted to those who hated them.

6In the citadel of Susa, the Jews killed and destroyed five hundred men.

7They killed Parshandatha, Dalphon, Aspatha, 8Poratha, Adalia, Aridatha, 9Parmashta, Arisai, Aridai, and Vaizatha, 10the ten sons of Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Jew's enemy, but they didn't lay their hand on the plunder.

11On that day, the number of those who were slain in the citadel of Susa was brought before the king.

12The king said to Esther the queen, "The Jews have slain and destroyed five hundred men in the citadel of Susa, including the ten sons of Haman; what then have they done in the rest of the king's provinces! Now what is your petition? It shall be granted you. What is your further request? It shall be done." 13Then Esther said, "If it pleases the king, let it be granted to the Jews who are in Shushan to do tomorrow also according to this day's decree, and let Haman's ten sons be hanged on the gallows." 14The king commanded this to be done. A decree was given out in Shushan; and they hanged Haman's ten sons.

15The Jews who were in Shushan gathered themselves together on the fourteenth day also of the month Adar, and killed three hundred men in Shushan; but they didn't lay their hand on the spoil.

16The other Jews who were in the king's provinces gathered themselves together, defended their lives, had rest from their enemies, and killed seventy-five thousand of those who hated them; but they didn't lay their hand on the plunder.

17This was done on the thirteenth day of the month Adar; and on the fourteenth day of that month they rested and made it a day of feasting and gladness.

18But the Jews who were in Shushan assembled together on the thirteenth and on the fourteenth days of the month; and on the fifteenth day of that month, they rested, and made it a day of feasting and gladness.

19Therefore the Jews of the villages, who live in the unwalled towns, make the fourteenth day of the month Adar a day of gladness and feasting, a good day, and a day of sending presents of food to one another.

John 10:22-11:4

John Chapter 10

22It was the Feast of the Dedication at Jerusalem.

23It was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple, in Solomon's porch.

24So the Jews came around him and said to him, "How long will you hold us in suspense? If you are the AnointedOne, tell us plainly." 25Jesus answered them, "I told you, and you don't believe. The actions that I do in my Father's name, these testify about me.

26But you don't believe, because you are not of my sheep, as I told you.

27My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

28I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.

29My Father who has given them to me is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of my Father's hand.

30I and the Father are one." 31So the Jews took up stones again to stone him.

32Jesus answered them, "I have shown you many good actions from my Father. For which of those actions do you stone me?" 33The Jews answered him, "We don't stone you for a good work, but for blasphemy: because you, being a man, make yourself God." 34Jesus answered them, "Isn't it written in your law, 'I said, you are gods?' 35If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture can't be broken), 36do you say of him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, 'You blaspheme,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God?' 37If I don't do the actions of my Father, don't believe me.

38But if I do them, though you don't believe me, believe the actions, that you may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I in the Father." 39They sought again to seize him, and he went out of their hand.

40He went away again beyond the Jordan into the place where John was baptizing at first, and there he stayed.

41Many came to him. They said, "John indeed did no sign, but everything that John said about this man is true." 42Many believed in him there.

John Chapter 11

1Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus from Bethany, of the village of Mary and her sister, Martha.

2It was that Mary who had anointed the Lord with ointment and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother, Lazarus, was sick.

3So the sisters sent to him, saying, "Lord, behold, he for whom you have great affection is sick." 4But when Jesus heard it, he said, "This sickness is not to death, but for the glory of God, that God's Son may be glorified by it."
